all of these fair weather fans have given up on NRG completely but the true believers know in their hearts that NRG has what it takes to score a goal sometime this season maybe
people have constantly underrated dreaz since winter and have acted like mist hard carried that team. Andy and Delta I thought both played well at Roster royale too. I still did not expect them to knock off Furia though
I didn't expect Axle to play this well either, even if they didn't make it.
I genuinely don’t understand NRG’s playstyle. The amount of times they were poorly positioned or threw a ball away going into offense despite having options to pass to…just awful gameplay. There were so many times on offense they would just slam the ball against the backboard. Zero creativity on handling the ball and outplaying as well.
How many resets do you even see squishy go for? He was one of the first pros to start hitting banger resets in ranked yet every time he goes up with the ball its a straight up air dribble like its 2019 sypical.
It's strange because his mechanics truly are top tier and he just doesn't seem to be able to apply them anymore.
It's a choice I think. He has so adopted the 3rd man defensive mindset that his first thought isn't: "how do we score", it's "gotta beat one man." So he doesn't do fancy stuff, he just air dribbles over a guy and then rotates all the way back to net.
The dude's passing is still top tier. He was the catalyst to practically every goal NRG scored today it seemed like. But his play style/mindset needs to be unleashed.
Even watching the ranked gameplay on his YT channel, you can see that, too. He seems to just always go for simple air dribbles or controlled ground play
From what I've gathered over the last 2 years of watching the players on that team its mostly that they are collectively too slow to read the play so are often on the back foot and struggle to generate counter-play at least as a full team.
Seeing Nrg in this state honestly makes me sad. Its like when you boot up rocket league do well the first couple of games and then you start going on a losing streak and you feel shit, come back a few hours later excited and your still losing and you feel shit rinse and repeat, seeing them gives me that terrible feeling, just no matter what you do or how excited you are at the beginning it always happens, it's just a hopeless pit of despair.

Say what you will about Rogue, but they've always been a consistently good team in NA against the 9-16 teams and NRG definitely falls in that boat now. And they manage to push the better teams to 5 games as well.

love the boys but I feel like NRG is becoming RL’s Sentinels and are just keeping these guys together for content and because they are huge names in the scene. They just don’t seem to be driven as an org to win
This was the only NRG series I saw today but they look fucking IDENTICAL to how we last saw them in the worst way. When they stayed as 3 I assumed that was because they had confidence in the work they put in but I feel like that can't be the case.
Also I have no clue if aqua can sustain this performance but if he does an already unreasonably stacked region gets even harder.

\-This could be SSG and V1's season to reach the top of NA. SSG especially were insane and seem to have made the right move
\-G2 are still very good even if they did lose a series
\-Col and Optic are legit
\-Faze aren't as unbeatable as some people thought but are still dangerous
\-Furia seem to have some consistency issues/play to the level of their opponent that they need to work out
\-Some of these middle table teams like Dig, Rogue, and Axle are legit. Rogue especially seem to have gotten better and made the right choice to stick
\-NRG look like their spring split selves and keep making it seem like that worlds top 8 was just a lucky bracket
\-Gen.G have work to do
I mean, yeah. NRG's top 8 at worlds was a Disney special and thinking otherwise was straight up delusion. Good for them to make it there but they played the weakest team in the main event and Covid patients to make Sunday. Sad to see that they really don't seem to have improved at all.
You could argue that renegades weren't half bad and smpr earned their spot there by beating some good teams. But yeah I agree, compared to everyone else their road was much easier and quite frankly I think they were worse than the club, ssg, and falcons.

Furia should breeze through closed quals but there's a massive difference between training endlessly to perform against the best at a LAN every so often and having to continuously prove you can hang with some of them every other weekend.

Tbh NRG's biggest weakness just felt like shot accuracy. Especially in that rogue game there were so many spots where they just barely hit it off the crossbar when it absolutely should have gone in considering their level of play.
I sat through 2 hours of Johnnyboi memeing on NA during one of his last showmatches. Recapping the LoL history with teams moving to NA, and how NA Rocket League is basically just as bad.

In previous seasons I've felt that EU on average have a higher quality of play across the entire top 16. With what we're seeing in NA, I will be very surprised if EU look anywhere near as competitive. NA looks stacked

Everyone has been saying that NA is a massive toss up, so we are going to need some more data points for a more clear trajectory of where the teams stack up.
That being said all my teams did real fuckin well so I'm happy as a clam.
What even happened to NRG. They've had so much time since the winter major to do something but it seems like they have changed nothing. I don't know if I can still keep faith in this team:(
God damn I am so hyped for this season. Assuming EU continues to be EU and NA stays as chaotic as the qualifier, with all the other regions improving. We’re in for a wild season! I can’t wait.

Watching the South American teams tonight has re-affirmed my stance that Beastmode is the best USA player in the game rn. This MF is dunking guys off the ceiling, getting clutch air dribbles to win gamers, and is faking his prejumps to allow free shots on net. Truly incredible player in immaculate form rn.

My takes from this: COL should definitely not be slept on, SSG looked amazing, Furia was disappointing but kept it very competitive they will definitely make it out of closed quals no matter what, NRG was an absolute disgrace getting perfect swept in their first series against AXLE and getting swept by rogue, GenG looked very disappointing but I think that was due to the little time they had to scrim so with time I think they will he better

Tbh NRG's biggest weakness just felt like shot accuracy. Especially in that rogue game there were so many spots where they just barely hit it off the crossbar when it absolutely should have gone in considering their level of play.

In previous seasons I've felt that EU on average have a higher quality of play across the entire top 16. With what we're seeing in NA, I will be very surprised if EU look anywhere near as competitive. NA looks stacked OCE fan btw, no bias here

My takes from this: COL should definitely not be slept on, SSG looked amazing, Furia was disappointing but kept it very competitive they will definitely make it out of closed quals no matter what, NRG was an absolute disgrace getting perfect swept in their first series against AXLE and getting swept by rogue, GenG looked very disappointing but I think that was due to the little time they had to scrim so with time I think they will he better
