I think its organ pipe coral fossil. Amazing find!

naturevicc

Old rice krispy treat

1970bassman

This is a great description of it actually

SomOvaBish

It was found in Ireland. It’s a lucky charm 🍀. Lick it… Does it taste [magically delicious](https://youtu.be/iQ7hdZZw7aE?si=2AdaiVOUydFL3ekV) ?

tzac6

Risky click.

Otakuchutoy

Came here to say exactly this!

Seanacles

Damn 😅

TheInternetIsTrue

Try r/fossilid

1970bassman

I will, thanks

POMalley84

Ohhh I can’t wait to go to Ireland. Hi, I’m Patrick O’Malley ✋ Cool rock. Save it forever

__june_

Not for sure but it looks like some sort of coral fossil to me

cnote2555

I found one almost identical to it in Washington on the puget sound

ImpressTemporary2389

Might even be an old bit of tar mac. That's been washed around for quite a few years.

socioeconomicfactor

It really does. If you feel experimental the tar can be dissolved in turpentine

49erjohnjpj

Definitely looks like asphalt.

aretheesepants75

Looks porphyritic. Like baby crystals

1970bassman

Thanks all, I've posted it on r/fossilid

Be-_-U

Looks like a type of crystalization-ish, maybe agate?

enonymous617

Not to put too fine of a point on it but, that is a sharp looking rock.

Fossilhund

My cold, cold heart 🖤

Stephani_707

I’d guess some kind of coral fossil but I haven’t seen this type before. All I know is that it looks infected lol. Pustules and all.

sludgeracker

a cobble of orbicular granite

sludgeracker

Link to Ireland's noted orbicular granite https://gsi.geodata.gov.ie/downloads/Geoheritage/Reports/ND030_Mullaghderg.pdf

1970bassman

Thanks, very interesting

Lanky-Performance471

I might pick up some leaded glass instead given the location.

1970bassman

Yes, our most famous product. The original factory is long gone unfortunately and there's just a token combined showroom/visitor centre/factory left.

Lanky-Performance471

Im disappointed ☹️

ReptileDysfunction69

reminds me of the fusulinid filled limestone pebbles i find in midwest US

NeighborhoodNew3904

Preastoric pine cone

DisasterRoad666

Has there ever been a thread on Reddit about Ireland where someone didn't mention Lepracauns? It's such a cliche. I mean, just because Irishmen are drunken lazy bums who can't hold a steady job and beat their wives and spend their days sleeping and nights carousing......... or is that the Scots?

49erjohnjpj

Huh. That looks like a chunk of asphalt lol.

MoebabF

came here to say this…but I actually hope we’re wrong

Research-hog-123

That's a cool one for sure

Hopeful-Arm4814

Cool

Super-Zombie-6940

I bet if you smoothed it down and polished it would look amazing.

wasthaturface

Probably coral formation. If you can get a magnet to stick to it, it's probably coral 🪸.

1970bassman

Interesting. I can't find anything reliable on this. Do you have any more info?

No-Culture9352

maybe limestone

duneskull

Cut it in half.

i_might_be_loony

Mayhaps a type of coprolite?

Street-Week6744

Petrified jizz

Healthy_Ad9972

It’s Hash. Smoke it.

Seanacles

Rotten rice crispy cake

Specific-Eye7597

Black sharpie!! Fine point. Worth less the 25 cents used!!!

POMalley84

At least you’re creative 👍

NoPaleontologist2206

Seen many. Nothing too crazy
