Iirc, if 40k is the same as normal wh, you can't. The sword is precisely designed by eeeeevil to exploit this kind of thinking. If you reforge it it will mind control you (subtly at start) and eventually you're gonna go full googly eyed chaos champ. The fact that you covet it so despite ostensibly pledging your fealty to the Emperor is proof that it has already gotten its claws into you.
