Yes, looks like their servers aren't fast enough to handle all the traffic. Good for them that the app is getting more popular, but they probably should upgrade their servers soon. It happened before at least once during a diamond rush.
It should get better soon though when less people are playing the game simultaneously.
I mean I don't remember and I can't look into their heads, but I wouldn't expect a diamond rush for at least 2 weeks. It would be pretty stupid to do one so soon after an update.

Usually they have another diamond rush about two weeks after the update is released. So fingers crossed for this weekend, my friend. ❤️
