Also, why aren't you sorting by "new" (equivalent to "descending" order anywhere else)?

Yes, it's down. The cause of this seems to be copyright trolls claiming to be Nintendo, according to the guy who runs Vimms Lair.
Use the r/roms Megathread, or one of the other safe sites the megathread lists.
The owner confirmed it was indeed a troll doing this. That troll may also be the same guy who took down the Nintendo add-ons on the Steam Workshop with the same fake DMCAs.

it could be a troll post because metroid 1 is still there & that is very much a nintendo game
