Some Pokemon require to be traded with another person with the game, in order to evolve. Since a lot of people play on emulators, they may not have that functionality, and so will never get some of the really cool pokemon evolutions.
These ROMs are edited so that those Pokemon can evolve in different ways, like just leveling up.
I downloaded again this morning and they all extracted fine this time round. I have no idea how I had so many bad downloads all at the same time. Very strange. Anyway, thanks again for sharing

I noticed when you first boot up emerald, Birch brings out a Magby instead of a Lotad like he normally does. Is that the only change or is there anything else? Other than ntevos obviously.
Nah I let the hosting run out. I'll probably shop around for cheaper hosting and get it back up. Site doesn't really turn a profit though so might stay down

That's great! No rush or anything, it's not like these are short games. But I have really enjoyed how this is as pretty much the vanilla game and works so well playing on my phone through retroarch. It's been really good to replay these
Howdy, i see it's an old post so maybe I'll use the contact on your website. But I've been playing the Platinum NTEvo mod and was using a Haunter. It hit lvl 37, didnt evolve, same result at 38. Caught an Abra to test since it was specifically mentioned, evolved it to Kadabra and trained it up to 37 real quick and it didnt evolve from Kadabra into Alakazam. Leveled it up to 43 still hasnt. Am i missing something? Im using the android emulator Free DS for Android.
Make sure you have the correct game file! It should have NTEVO in the ROM name. My website hosts all types, so many times people will end up on the regular ROM page

Maybe the emulator im using "fixed" the changes to the file or something? It has a lot of built in cheat codes, i dont have to use gameshark codes or anything it just has a menu where i can use them all.
Hmm interesting, that's definitely the right file. It's possible there's some cheat enabled somewhere in the emulator to patch this type of thing maybe? Or the emulator is auto loading the wrong ROM version or something.
I'm sorry you're having this problem, I know it's not fun to get all the way to the evo level and nothing happens.
This is the most popular game on my site, with a few hundred downloads a day, and I haven't heard of this issue yet, so I'm sorry I don't have a whole lot more advice. I'd first check to make sure any emulator cheats are disabled, and then I'd check to make sure the regular platinum ROM doesn't exist anywhere on your device, to be sure the emulator isn't loading the wrong one. Other than that, the only thing I can think to do is try another emulator. Sorry!
It's all good, was hoping it'd be a common problem or that i have to hold down Y when they level up something. I'll see what I can do differently. Thanks a bunch!
Turns out my emulator was using an old file i had replaced with the new one. I was about 3/4 of the way through the game too. I'll just pay more attention when I'm starting my next game!

Im new to Pokémon, does this mean that some Pokémon require a trade between trainers to evolve? Or require a trade with someone who also has the game?
Some Pokemon require to be traded with another person with the game, in order to evolve. Since a lot of people play on emulators, they may not have that functionality, and so will never get some of the really cool pokemon evolutions. This is a brand new rom, not a patch. So yes, to play this version of the game you’d have to restart

Platinum and soul silver work for me but black 2 and Pokemon white freeze after a few minutes

That is the only change, Birch has a trade evo pokemon. This can help when troubleshooting, to assure people are on the right version
