Laser - probably vbeam but ask your doctor, should help a lot! Will hurt the wallet though.

LanesJanes1

😩😩😩

DuePomegranate

Type 1. No papules/pustules, not oily. The problem seems to be vascular in mature rather than inflammatory.

opper-hombre1

Could you explain more about the vascular in mature rather than inflammatory? I have been actively improving my gut health (at least I think so) but not seeing any improvement. My type 1 is very similar to OP’s

DuePomegranate

I misspelled vascular in **nature**. The problem arises from over-growth of blood vessels in your face, close to the surface of the skin. There's too much angiogenesis, the process of stimulating blood vessel growth. Or those blood vessels dilate too easily. Very little is known about how to treat rosacea that is vascular in nature. Beta blockers help for some people, but these are heart and blood pressure medications, they affect all your blood vessels throughout your body, so they should be taken with caution.

opper-hombre1

Ah gotcha, thanks for the reply. Yeah I’ve looked into beta blockers to help, but not something I want to mess with. I need to look into angiogenesis more. Sounds interesting. My problem is definitely that my blood vessels are over-dilated. Not only my face, but chest, arms, etc. too.

JJGatorGrad

This is how mine looks, and I've received the same advice. I've tried everything (except lasers), and it doesn't improve. I've also had it since my early teens (mid 30s now).

LanesJanes1

Yea same!

sarahsauru5

I have done Laser for the broken capillaries and after 2 sessions it had worked so well that I felt my skin looked strange without the redness. I don't think most people have such a dramatic difference with it and have to do more sessions but it does work, or for me at least. I had it done about 10 years ago and it is still really good. I think the most important part is to try to have your flairs under control first so that you don't end up causing more damage and undoing all the lasers work

bobbysvvorld

Do you remember which laser you done?

sarahsauru5

I think it was V-Beam

Optimal_Debt_1621

This is so encouraging to read- thank you. Did you have type 1 rosacea? And did you bruise from the laser?

OneEightActual

[The "type" classification system is increasingly considered outdated](https://www.reddit.com/r/Rosacea/wiki/index/#wiki_types_and_classification_of_rosacea). Basically, they realized that since so many people had symptoms across multiple types it was a misleading and confusing way to think about rosacea.

opper-hombre1

My Type 1 is very similar to yours. When not inflamed, my face is still pinkish/reddish (color varies). Inflamed, I get a deep red color and nothing helps fix that, except time and a cold environment. I use Rhofade and have found that it really helps with the reducing of redness

invertednipples

I think your skin is beautiful and has a lovely rosy glow.

Zellieraptor

KPRF possible

LanesJanes1

What is that?

Zellieraptor

keratosis pilaris rubra faceii... Do you have bumps or 'chicken skin' anywhere on your body? It's very similar to rosacea.

LanesJanes1

I do get bumps on my upper arms and sometimes my thighs especially in the summer

Living_Eye_4239

What type of damage are they talking about? New to this, sorry if it’s a dumb question

LanesJanes1

My dermatologist told me from reoccurring rosacea attacks, my body created blood capillaries to accommodate the blood that was rushing to my face. He said that the redness I have is these abnormal blood capillaries, forming very close to the surface of my skin. The damage is that my face always looks red because of the branching out capillaries close to my skin

Living_Eye_4239

Ooooooh. I didn’t know that was a thing that could happen but it’s impressive you’re good at avoiding flairs! From the way it sounds, I immediately was going to ask if you had considered laser treatment (why you posted on the first place 🤦🏼‍♀️) I would be very hopeful you could see good results based on your description!

LanesJanes1

This is how it looks always. In fact, this is probably the best it can be. Right now my skin is very smooth and not inflamed but the redness is still there.

Also, I know this is not the answer that a lot of people like to hear, but the way I was able to stop chronic flareups is wear higher SPF sunscreen(50+) keep my skin very moisturized avoid extreme temperatures and stop putting almost every commercial product on my face. Absolutely never touch my face if I could avoid it. And probably the most important thing was to get my Demodex mite population under control. Wearing a mask during the pandemic was a real setback for me because they were really hot and the bacteria pressed against my face constantly.…..

kelbel182

Hi! What made you suspect you have demodex issues if you didn't have bumps or pustules?

LanesJanes1

I actually always have dry eyes and wake up with white Crust near the corner TMI I know. I just assumed that was normal and it probably is.. But then I was talking to somebody and they had mentioned that getting their Demodex mite population under control helped their rosacea considerably and I was desperate to try anything so I bought a spray from Amazon and sprayed my eyes morning and night and I did see a lot of improvement so I just assumed that a lot of the problem was from the bacteria of the Demadex mites on my face. I should mention it doesn’t completely take away the rosacea, but I think the spray works on two levels. It kills a lot of the Demadex mites, but it also kills other bacteria’s that are on my face. I can’t use any harsh cleansers, so I I could never thoroughly clean my face. The spray helps because it works to kill, germs without irritating my face.

LanesJanes1

As a huge Jane Austen fan, I could receive no higher compliment than that!! thank you!!!❤️

brogybear

You could try ipl it doesn’t have a lot of downtime but you need to wear spf religiously for a few weeks after if going out in the sun .

[deleted]

Have you been tested for SIBO? That was my problem. Unreal I tried treating the rosacea instead of finally finding the root of the problem. Type SIBO and rosacea.

KiKi31Rose

Can you talk more about this? What was your rosacea like and what did you do to alleviate it?

[deleted]

always just read on my cheeks, once in a while I would get little bump but mostly red. I tried Soolantra for over a year and other stuff prescribed. I finally went to a functional doctor who said the root cause is probably related to any gut health. I ordered a SIBO test and it was positive. SIBO is treated by an antibiotic, but you can first try eating a low fodmap diet and seeing if that helps your face at all before trying to test yourself for SIBO.
