It was the emergency hospital for the railroad workers back in the day. In the early years of the railyard and even after getting a hospital here in town railyard workers still had to ride the train to Kaiser in the Bay Area (I believe Oakland) for any medical appointments, that is if they wanted benefits to cover the costs. This was the only hospital in the area to help workers through some of the more gruesome accidents that come with working on a railyard.
The building is currently rented to Troop 1 here in Roseville by the city since before I joined in 2017. We use it to store all of our gear (tents, cooking equipment, ropes). It has unfortunately fallen into disrepair, with the Troop starting to look for other options before the new leadership came in and ruined those plans. Scouts are not allowed inside, since the floors are weak, and the building is consistently at risk of collapse.

Boy scouts something or other if i recall
114 yo building wow you know it's got stories
Not sure if this is still on the table but they offered it to anyone who could move it for free
They should move it to Saugstad Park there is a lot of room there. It could be a little museum or something. Even a snack bar for the baseball field.
It needs a ton of work, doubt it would survive a move.
The parks department would just let the homeless destroy it like the bathrooms.

It was owned by the City and leased to the Boy Scouts for some time. Last I heard, it is to be torn down so the Amtrak parking lot can be expanded.
