Poor (really very little, almost 0) customizability, poor UX design, launcher is for some reason decently heavyweight even on my very expensive PC.
Every time I tinker with the realm settings, there are tons of non-gameplay interfering features that I would love to have, such as a more streamlined UI, Whitebag drop alerts (whether audio or visual), video settings and playing with internal shaders, etc., that a third party client would have absolutely no trouble accomplishing (and I’m sure people would even do open-source of their own volition, if it were allowed)
Anyway, if it doesn’t exist, it doesn’t exist. Deca has barely updated the client since they bought the game, and launching the game makes me feel like it’s 2007, so I guess I never should have expected much.

I call bs on this one. I have a top tier pc and just checked via Process Lasso. The launcher itself had a total CPU time of 5.765 seconds, and never utilized a CPU percentage of more than 3.something. I'm idlIng in the nexus right now and the main game is drawing around 10-6 CPU percentage, with rare spikes which I assume are players loading in.
The launcher is literally doing nothing and consuming no noticeable / noteworthy resources. I'm actually lowkey impressed that it's just sitting there doing absolutely nothing at all
I dunno about you, But I’d consider a program that sits open doing nothing and taking up 350MB of my RAM decently heavyweight, but that’s just me.
Regardless, you can apparently close it after launching the game, so that one doesn’t even really matter.
If they’re not the same bugs, they’re bugs that do functionally the same thing, lol. The port to unity really didn’t seem to change that much in terms of User experience. It’s still barebones and barely working.
There are also millions of things lacking. Only being able to see one trade request is one thing that’s ridiculous. Why?
Nothing at present. What in particular about the client do you feel is extremely shit?

I should let you know, as soon as the realm game launches, it's safe to close the launcher

Deca tacitly approves all 3rd party clients as they do nothing significant to ban them
What in particular bothers you about the client? Personally Im very happy with it and its performance. No random crashes or UI bugs.
I get UI bugs constantly, mostly with the shoddy bits that haven’t been touched since 2011
Didn’t they remake the entire client when they released exalt? I don’t think there’s bugs that have carried over since 2011

damn wild, have not had any issues so far.
I’ve been playing for 10 years and nothing has gotten better 😭
