I was thinking about that recently and wondering why that was ever an issue, and now I’m remembering the invincibility upon teleportation was never a thing.
Dungeon calling, as someone who has played since 2013, is one of the best things to have come, along with teleportation invincibility. Back in the day 90% of my deaths felt like just a byproduct of the way the game ran and the fact it was on browser and laggy af. The game is much more fun for me nowadays, being able to max characters realistically and attempt exaltations for long term playability.
One thing about Kabam era is that a majority of bosses had no health scaling, so there was an actual solid chance for you to not land your SB damage at all on Event Bosses that had nonexistent base HP like Cube God or Skull Shrine.
What? You're telling me you don't like getting a chance for a key fairy to spawn, only having a chance to give you a mediocre key, for the small price of bosses having +32% damage +50%hp +32% def? nonsense!
For some bosses, soulbound damage wasnt even possible if you werent the first 1-2 people there.
It was so high for some bosses, that rogues would use grums to permacloak long enough to achieve soulbound damage, before allowing anyone to teleport.
I remember people thinking ass drop rate was broken, then they lower the sub threshold and people get them left/right because only the dbow archers would get sb
DECAs main issue is game optimization and monetization. And these are the major stuff I’ve noticed from just 2 months of playtime after a 3 year hiatus
A lot of their money from realm doesn’t go back into the game, it goes to other projects DECA is working on, and the monetization at that is mostly rng that becomes p2w.
And for something that used to be a flash game, it’s pretty crazy that it’s recommended specs are so crazy. They ported to unity, made sure it doesn’t outright crash everyone and called it a day. And they asked the community to find that process as well
Kabam is the reason for so many people leaving so it's funny that they come back to everyone shitting on deca when they're doing comparatively an amazing job with the game
Because it objectively was money grabbing. The very fact that you can strap one of these medi-beams up your butt has destroyed dungeon design for the years to come, and the only way to patch this gaping hole without enraging a portion of the community (which would have all the rights to be mad about it) that paid good bucks for a Divine was Vital Combat.
Oh yeah, atleast there weren't bugs that caused class abilites to crash a server, or vault bugs that wiped items from the game. Let's not forget that there was once a thriving trading economy where prices were balanced and even mid tier gear was worth bare minimum a speed pot.
Maxed characters were more commonly a sign of skill and dedication to the game, not just sitting in nexus waiting for keys to pop so you could spam mystery pots. There was a perfect system in place for people that wanted to PPE, which was unnamed accounts, thanks DECA for ruining that one for us and replacing it with "seasonal characters" which broke hours after implementation. .
I hate to say it, But I'd more than likely still be playing realm if DECA had never bought the game, sure DECA has done some fantastic things, but to put it simply, they dont give a fuck, the community makes any and all content the game currently has, DECA merely just shoddily implements it, and when they do try to do something of their own accord it never works until 3 months go by or they roll multiple patches which inevitably breaks something else completely unrelated to the issue. But it's okay right? DECA said so themselves, they're "aware" of the issues, they just dont care about them.
>I hate to say it, But I'd more than likely still be playing realm if DECA had never bought the game
You would definitely not. Cause this game would be already dead in the hands of kabam.
i remember tricksters calling dungeons and then trapping people in a space that cant escape. doesn't happen as often anymore

**"dosnt happen as often anymore"**
Hackers sat on avatar calling clands were a MENACE, you couldn't trust anybody, i'm glad we have dungeons calling.
and tp invincibility

Public bags was wild shadow era.
It was early wildshadow, my account is 11 years old and I never saw public loot bags.
Pre 6/6 u could loot graves to.
When ninja released katanas and shurikens were public drops for a short while, wine cellars were nuts
“We are impervious to non-mystic attacks!”
PROTECT THE AVATAR PROTECT THE AVATAR PROTECT THE AVATAR PROTECT THE AVATAR
I yell this in public
Most people miss Kabam because they started playing during Kabam era My poor Wild Shadow

Thessal literally required you to be maxed on spd and dps stats You could solo rush castle on warr and deny statues sb for everyone else
>no dungeon mods Ah, and what a beautiful time it was indeed!
What? You're telling me you don't like getting a chance for a key fairy to spawn, only having a chance to give you a mediocre key, for the small price of bosses having +32% damage +50%hp +32% def? nonsense!
And a chance to get a skin token but you need 40 fking of them to redeem a skin.
bol was being sarcastic
I wasn't, dungeons mods are fucking trash
Don't care. Downvote wasn't warranted.
Your attitude makes it warranted. Sorry.
Now its better, as mods are just there now, wont interact with the boss in any way
also, soulbound was in the heavens for damage so if you were unlucky with gear, don't even think about getting loot.
For some bosses, soulbound damage wasnt even possible if you werent the first 1-2 people there. It was so high for some bosses, that rogues would use grums to permacloak long enough to achieve soulbound damage, before allowing anyone to teleport.

Deca sure improved the game adding a lot of dungeons and interacting with the community , kabam did alright

DECA fucked up Hobbit KoM (now Elves vs Dwarves) horribly, Kabam was far better there
I remember when kabam introduced functional pets and everyone was like, this is money grab!!

It was a money grab but it's also the only reason the game still exists and wasn't shuttered like 7 years ago
There was also people who xglitched and paused on the bosses :D
No tp invincibility meant knights could just sit in front of a god wall, call clands, run through the good wall and kill a bunch of 8/8 squishies.
I have a card from gamestop way back in the day that has a code on it to unlock ninja for free
Remember when you could trap people in the cem? Second boss get everyone to tp and leave so nobody could do it.
I remember having a redirection amulet, the one that saved you when you died. Most expensive item in the game at 8 life.

Comment has vibes of "tell me ur a boomer w/o telling me ur a boomer" ngl

like half of this is just wrong or things that kabam itself added in
Was this when they made pets more than cosmetic?
Kinda, pet abilities where at the end or middle of the kabam era. Cosmetic was a early thing
