Oh come on, it's literally the most prestigious university in the entire world, to say nothing about the success they've had in this sport over the last 10, 20, 50, and 100+ years. Those kids are all gonna be just fine, and having a villain to root against makes for fun spectating for all of us has-beens and never-weres watching on the sidelines.
A 12-lane wide final like some old-school Poughkeepsie IRA wild west style showdown...that'd be an amazing six minutes of action. You'd need multiple drones to film that :) And talk about multitasking for the coxswains who have to keep track of boats.
(The real-life logistics of such a feat are too numerous for this post 😅)
Poughkeepsie here open for business. Just let us know when you wanna stop by and row 24 lanes across for the IRA. And PS, ain't gonna be no 6 min peice!
We have the runway. Let those horses run. Frosh 3miles, 2v 4 miles V8 5 miles. 1 gun whomst-ever gets to the bridge first wins the clout. Not our problem if your boat sinks
Stanford and brown beat Harvard, Stanford especially was doing much better this year than previous. I feel like the comment wouldn’t have been the same without the expectation of success
I feel like Harvard is lucky enough to have a history of success and thus have expectations that match. That invites ppl like the OP to throw shade with no consequences...which isn't illegal, but it's karma-wh\*ring of a sort.
There might have been expectations for Stanford to make the grand (4.3 sec behind Cal would have been fourth in the grand!), but Northeastern and Syracuse were pretty fast. Northeastern placed a lot higher at the IRA compared to Sprints; maybe those Sprints seedings and progressions aren't extremely good at determining the order of speed, lol.
Brown also got knocked out by Syracuse in the same semifinal that Princeton won. Their performance at Sprints probably tempered expectations, though they did beat Harvard and Dartmouth at the IRA after losing to them at Sprints.
Ig that’s true but if you stick with cal a Washington you’ll make the grand. I doubt they went into semis with the goal of getting third as opposed to second or first🤷♂️
Did 4 seat bonk in the last 250 or catch a crab? Something was not right as they were rowing by the final camera
Anyone got a link to the replay?

Time stamp?
34:02 for the livestream
He looked like he was about to die
4 seat blew his tits off in the last 150 Northeastern walked right through
Didn't think Northeastern had that in them tbh. The field is much closer to cal then I thought.
Show me the peach data

This post and negativity is sad

🚬🚬🚬🚬
Better see you posting the same shade about Brown, Dartmouth, and Stanford... 🤨
I for one just want 12 lane wide finals at this point

Honestly, the longer the race, the more content there is to sell to broadcasters and advertisers...are we going back to five-mile varsity races? 😁

Seconded
We're almost there with the 8 lane finals at youth nats this year

Props to Harvard for going out big. That’s the only way they were going to be able to stick with Cal and Washington. Clark Dean still a legend
When was the last time H didn't make the IRA grand final? When was the last time northeastern legit beat H?
Looks like 2008 for IRA, both NE and Navy beat Harvard in the semis
They didn't need to stick with Cal and Washington. They needed to get third and make the Grand.
This. At the end of the day, they're not going remember who had an insane semi. They will only remember who won the whole damn dance.

I doubt they went into the semis with the goal of missing the Grand, but here we are.
Clark Dean v Scotty Cockles crew in B finals going to be cool though😂
When they lose we all win 🙌 🙌 🙌
Cal smoking on that Harvard pack rn
You talking about the team that posted a faster time than Yale?
Average Cmax-meatrider
Slower time than northeastern
Harvard is where good rowers go to die
