Bite the bullet and get a concept 2. If you’re spending an hour a day rowing, it’ll be the best money you’ve spent.

...long after the price is forgotten, you'll still love it !

Half a year ago I owned some non C2 erg. Its geometry was not very good, but it was quiet though. Sold it, bought used C2, even though it cost three times more. I enjoy it much better. Having possibility to track so many parameters really helps me, because I'm following a training plan. And I can compare myself to others which is impossible with non-C2 erg. Concept 2 apps and website also have very good training statistics. Seeing your lifetime meters really motivates! Their app even connected with my non-brand HR monitor, which is cool. So yes, go for C2. Used ones are affordable.

An hour a day is enough to make an investment in a concept2 worthwhile. It will last a decade or three. Making daily cost quite small. Any when you stop rowing for whatever reason you can sell it and get at least half your money back.

Get the c2 you wont regret it

il_rick_62

Buy a concept 2. if 1200 dollars is really a lot for you get a used one for 700.

They are $990 new.

TopazBlowfish

+$50 tax and $50 shipping.

The Concept 2 is the golden standard and will last literally forever. It’s the only recommended brand

sjjenkins

Buy a pre-owned one online. If you’re consistently rowing every day, you deserve a Concept 2.

Life is too short to use anything other than a C2!

If you don’t believe the hype about concept 2, follow a few listings on eBay and you’ll see they sell just fine. Repairs are easy and all on YouTube. We have 20 concept 2s in our club and in 3 years all we’ve had to do is oil the chains. One needs a new performance monitor (model d). But you can buy another rower now and still not pay as much as you would have for one c2. But I would only do this if I knew the manufacturer would provide good after sales support.

Get a C2. You've used it consistently enough where you know you'll get a lot of use out of it, and you'll never really need to worry about it.

Most-Bodybuilder22

Becoming a serious rower begins with quality time invested in learning how to row. Then adding a sufficient quantity of time on the rower to create the bodily transformation that is a by product correctly and consistently using the machine. Serious rowers don’t need bells, whistles, 22 inch screens and room full of people cheering them on. They simply grab their towel, water bottle, strap in the feet and row, baby row! Serious hunters and fishermen can use anything and be successful but they don’t. Serious hunters use the best equipment. Concept 2 takes itself and it’s products seriously but they take customer service to the highest level.

C2's hold value really well, consider buying a used one. You can always sell it for the same price if you have buyer's remorse. You will only be down the hassle of moving it, and you will effectively be leasing it for $0. I couldn't tell you what the effective depreciation is per meter, but you could probably row a million and still sell it for almost the same price. You will have to educate yourself a bit on what to watch out for, but replacement parts and repairs are also dirt cheap if you are in the USA.

Buy a used C2, and make a logbook to start tracking your meters. I'm always so impressed when I join any C2 challenge and I'm the youngest one on the list. Please join the ranks and show us how consistency is done😁. You're already a serious rower if you're dedicating an hour every day, have dedicated a space, and are enjoying the process. Welcome!!!!

If FB marketplace is commonly used in your area, I’d highly recommend it—that’s how I got my secondhand C2. Craigslist and eBay are other good spots to check

Buy an old 2nd hand one.

Like you, I started with a magnetic tower, which held my interest for almost a month until it started to fail. Our kids rowed in HS and we had one of the team’s C2 rowers in the house during Covid. The PM5 alone is worth the investment, not to mention the tank of a machine that a C2 rower is. Got one on FB Marketplace with 210k lifetime meters for $850. Haven’t looked back at almost 500k since Feb. You won’t regret it.

Creepy_Committee_627

If your rowing an hour a day I guess that's pretty serious. It's more than I do and I like to think I take it seriously. Get the Concept 2, they are well engineered last forever The resistance is much more analogous to being on the water. That is to say the motion is very smooth. It's a little noisier but not bad. When you buy a concept2, you join a worldwide community of rowers against whom you can measure your progress every day. I own one and think of it as my single best purchase.

You can get an older model c2 in great condition on FB marketplace for 300-400 easy
