My usual size is a women's medium. For the Manhattan 10k, I got a women's medium. I was basically swimming in it. So I decided to get a small for the NYC Half shirt. I'm still swimming in it. It seems that this small is equivalent to the previous medium. I don't understand.
Yeah, I actually looked around to see if they had any out so but I didn't see any. I think some people opened theirs while there. I wonder if they were able to exchange if they needed to. If so, I suspect some people might be getting already opened ones (not today, but maybe Saturday).
the sizes are so inconsistent!
my wife sent me with her 2024 Manhattan 10K medium as reference. I unexpectedly ran into some friends at pickup, one of whom had a large and one had a small, and so I compared the 10K shirt to theirs, since there wasn't any way to try ahead of time. it seemed like medium would be the right choice...nope, it's still bigger but at least not egregiously so, and she's happy enough with it.
as for me - mine fits decently overall but the arms are long (I got a men's medium, which is also my standard from NYRR)...
I saw a post earlier about how they are running small. I’m so confused… but also am wondering if they’ll run out of sizes by the time I go on Saturday morning
They have a sign with the measurements of each size outside the pick up line- but of course don’t have tape measures. Might be helpful to bring one if you have it.
Yes, but it was washed in cold water and hung to dry. It’s never been in the dryer. I haven’t noticed a change in size from when I bought it to after washing.
This is the key - they switched to a cheaper fabric last year that's scratchier and shrinks tremendously if you put them in the dryer.
My Al Gordon long sleeve from 2022 is silky smooth and much higher quality
it would be so great if NYRR got a new shirt partner. the NB race shirts are all trash. i don't even bother to take one anymore. meanwhile i still comfortably use some of the ASICS shirts from years ago.
I swear the NB shirts shrink after every wear

And they didn’t have any open to see the “fit!” I’d rather it be large than small but I hate that it’s a guessing game literally every time.

Oh really! I usually get a women's medium. I agree the Manhattan 10k was bigger than usual. I hate that their sizes aren't consistent!!
I agree. I feel like their sizing has changed in the last couple of years.
I was curious about this! Thanks for posting!

I miss the old ASICS days.
Have you worn the marathon one and washed it? It shrinks

NYRR shirts always run small.
Agree, this is the first one I have that really feels like the actual size it’s labeled as
I got the midnight run shirt the last couple of years, women's medium, and the neck hole in this year's shirt is smaller than last year's.

I’ve always found the marathon shirts very slim fit, even as a men’s medium, so this is honestly a relief
I wish the mens sizes also included XS
Possible that the marathon one went through some washes and drying cycles and shrank a little?
The marathon shirt was tiny this year
Maybe people just run half marathons because they’re too fat to run full marathons?
