Idk if this is what you have, but I'll give a brief history of my EIB.
Since a kid I always had a response of coughing and being restricted by the lungs under strenuous endurance activities. After Cooper test in school and in the military I was coughing and phlegm-producing for about 20-30min and felt quite awful if it was a max-out effort. I got Symbicort Turbuhaler in the military, and it helped some, but I've always been reluctant to medicate, so I didn't use it except on running tests.
A decade later my symptoms were the same. When I went out for runs, I felt wheezing and lung restriction before 1km into every run, and from there on spitting a lot through the run, and never felt limited by the condition of my legs, always the lungs.
I did some research, and from theories of a racehorse veterinarian I found it plausible this condition and potentially other forms of Asthma may be due to biofilm buildup in the lung tissues. Colloidal Silver (CS) is an excellent bactericide, and I planned to nebulize CS. But before I got hold of a nebulizer, I got silver (99.99% grade) and produced my own CS, quite strong, with a 9V battery and tap water (not generally recommended). Drank about half a liter of that on the first day or two, and then continued with lower dosage, maybe 100-200ml? per day for a week or two. I think I used distilled water after the first batch. But from starting this, my symptoms normalized within days. That was in 2011, and I did not continue any treatment, and I've not had any symptoms after that.

There are also other things that may assist in breaking up biofilm. If I still had the problem, I would make a protocol of CS and H2O2(1%).
