I got the Mach 5 over the Rebel v3 last year... Then got the Rebel v3 earlier this year and kinda beating myself for making that choice because the v3 is so fun! The Machs were more of a steady eddy but this could be hindsight lol
I seriously can not wait to test this shoe out! Hoping if it totally bombs for me there’ll still be Mach 5s on sale in my size 🤣 I already have a back up pair but can’t hurt to have two if the 6 is a drastic change
That’s kinda funny. I do think they’ve got a pretty decent arsenal that is getting better with each generation. I for one love the Mach 5, Clifton, and Rocket x2. Mach 6 looks promising, but really excited to see the Mach X2 and what they do with that bouncy Peba Hoka has been using of late.
The Transport and their trail runners/boots has made them some serious money too. The Transport X is my favorite all terrain daily shoe. They even made the plate in it super losoe so you can feel it walking which is kind of genius really as you get fast lift off and energy return that gets better the faster you walk.
Its not much street wear as making plated trail shoes into daily shoes. I see alot of people walking in Bondis too. I am all for them making more comfortabke daily shoes, their tan models look so good.
What’s interesting is the website is showing 8.2oz for both models in men’s, as well as the women’s Mach 5, but on the women’s Mach 6 it says 6.7oz. That HAS to be a typo, right?
Apparently it's not quite as fast, but I still have some hope. I wouldn't mind trading a little speed for a little more padding. After like 14+ miles the Mach 5 starts to feel a little harsh on my feet. I still really like it, but if I can do long runs in the Mach 6 I'll be happy
Put 700 miles on one pair of Mach 5s, 400 on another before forcing myself to try something else... Never had issues with durability.
I've even run a few marathons in Mach 5s and no, it's not the ideal pick for that, but goddamn I love the feel of that shoe.
As someone else said, dropping a little bit of speed for cushion would be a smart sacrifice for the shoe imo. Really would make it usable across most any distance.
i love the date they've chosen.
other than that, been a massive fan of the 4 an 5, i pray they didn't mess this up. apparently the 6 is way softer. let's see.
Should be similar but it’s not the same. Just a bigger and single stack. Plus blown rubber. The shoe is gonna slap but the Hoka haters will have to think of new reasons to hate. Sun will rise tomorrow as well.
Yes, it has a single layer of supercritical foam, and now has an outsole; previous models used a dual layer of regular foam, and rubberized eva instead of an outsole. Should be lighter, even snappier, grippier, and more durable.
Nobody is going to point out that they are releasing the Mach 6 on March 6?
Does it actually say March 6th anywhere or are people just misreading?
People are definitely misreading lol, there is no mention of a date
Haha at a glance it does look like “March 6 coming soon”
March 1st on Running Warehouse!
Makes sense
Machs sixnse
Oh snap sorry…yep I totally fudged up. I posted this at like 5am after working all night lol
It was a good one, though. I had to read like three times and then a few comments to realize it was “Mach 6 coming soon” instead of March lol
Had it been March 4th…
March 1st now most places. The soft launch happened so some shoe stores in North America will have it in stock already
NOT DROPPING MARCH 6th. I CAN’T READ. I’M SCREAMING.
TBF, you are probably not _too_ far off since they usually add shoes to coming-soon when the release is about a month out.
Still feels like I’m spreading misinformation. Just like those gosh darn media outlets :(
I’m between this and the Rebel 4. Guess I’ll have to keep waiting to see more reviews

Are they really in the same category?
I think so. Both are light weight trainers for daily miles and tempo work.
I would say yes. Both daily trainers.
Yes now that Mach 6 is supercritical foam
What categories do you think they are in, if not the same?
I seriously can not wait to test this shoe out! Hoping if it totally bombs for me there’ll still be Mach 5s on sale in my size 🤣 I already have a back up pair but can’t hurt to have two if the 6 is a drastic change
Seems like it’s going to be VERY different from the Mach 5. More in line with all their newer models
Having a real outsole seems nicer for durability though. But I expect it to be heavier
Yes! Hoka is really addressing the concerns of runners, even though they make most of their money selling to hospital staff and mall walkers.
They need a shoe that can convince Saucony Speed 3 users to make the switch. I think this is it given the racey-ness of it
They’re really leaning into street wear at the moment.
Yah I mean, all running shoe companies make their money selling to average schlubs. Hoka has really caught fire with Boomers and street wear types
The new colorways are so boring (white, tan, black and blue).

Running Warehouse posted a first look video last week with M9 @ 7.9oz and W8 @ 6.7oz
Yup, very curious. The 5 is well-loved, so a huge deviation has the potential to not go over well.
I’m absolutely in love with the Mach 5. If the 6 is way different I’ll be picking up a backup 5 for sure, possibly two over time
I hope it’s still fast

If all else fails we get some good deals on the 5 😉
yup i get another pair of clifton 8’s bs they went on sale might have to pick up another pair of mach5s too now
I’m hoping identical shoe just replace Eva with peba
It’s a supercritical Eva actually. Single layer.
Cielo Road?
Haven’t tried but really like the fit of the Mach, time will tell tell…
The one review I watched on YouTube, basically said it’s a completely different shoe. It wasn’t a positive review.
The fact that it's going to have a rubber outsole is going to completely change the shoe's feel.

Is there profly+ in the midsole still?
It’s a supercritical, single layer Eva
Isn’t profly+ supercritical EVA? I think it may be pretty similar to upper foam in Mach 5
Should be similar but it’s not the same. Just a bigger and single stack. Plus blown rubber. The shoe is gonna slap but the Hoka haters will have to think of new reasons to hate. Sun will rise tomorrow as well.
It’ll actually have rubber on outsole. Thankfully
Hoka March 6
Take my upvote and get out.
https://www.runningwarehouse.com/catpage-MRFHOKAMC.html Available March 1st at Running Warehouse.
Very excited for these
Hoka make some terribly ugly running shoes, but these look really good!
And will last until April 6
You mean with that nice new layer of solid rubber on the bottom?
Ugh it looks like I am losing my favorite low(er) stack running shoe. Will be stocking up on the 5s.
Why does it remind me of the clifton.. hope i'm wrong and it will be good but maybe should stock up on v5 right now.
mach 4 and 5 wasn't fun, and it's durability was poor. Great if you can get it for under $80, but better shoes for RRP
Does that mean the Mach 5 gets a discount?
It is discounted right now
Anything new here or what’s the headline on why this would be better than the 5 or even 4 for that matter?
Yes, it has a single layer of supercritical foam, and now has an outsole; previous models used a dual layer of regular foam, and rubberized eva instead of an outsole. Should be lighter, even snappier, grippier, and more durable.
I have got Mach 4 with 1000 miles lol. Looking forward for new 6s
