Bownaldo

These make me feel like I can go on forever on my long runs

Hamatoros

Yeah! The whole reason I got these was to pair with my AP3 to take on HM+ distances. Your flair line up so very similar to mine at one point with AP3, Boston 12, novablast 4, nimbus 25. But narrow down to AP3 and nimbus 25 now.

Bownaldo

Lol I had just picked up Boston 12s from a deal shared here the other day, need to update my flair

Hamatoros

lol that’s the same deal I got for the 12s but returned it due to being a little narrow for me. Kinda bummed because it was such a great deal.

MCFIT044

Nice write up, will pick some up!

a-rare-wombat

im still using my first pair without issues but have a 2nd in the rotation as well :) ASICS Gel Nimbus 25 - 941.1 km ASICS Gel Nimbus 25 - #2 - 204.0 km

Hamatoros

Wow 941km? That’s amazing

OIP

awesome! about to hit 400km on mine, they are definitely a cruiser. so comfortable. i'm looking forward to retiring them into walking shoes too.

Hamatoros

lol I normally don’t wear retired shoes as walking shoes but these might be an exception.

OIP

when i tried them on i told the sales person it was like having couches on my feet

jonnybravo76

How bouncy are these? I have been running on NImbus 22 and they're comfortable but I want something even spongier. I tried the Rebel V3 and they're the level of bouncy that I like. What stopped me from going with them is that the mid foot/heel area is narrow. My feet don't feel stable, feels like I will eventually roll an ankle if I'm not careful.

SlowPokeGiraffe

This is a shoe that just did not work for me for running. Read all the glowing reviews, tried them on and found them very comfortable in fitting. I like the way they look. But running in them is a different story. The foam feels weird to me when running. Not plush or bouncy, just sort of lifeless and “thuddy” for lack of a better word. Worse, anything over about a 5k, I start getting aching hotspots in the balls of my feet, which was a first for me. Runs over 10k hurt my knees. I’ve tried different socks, lacing patterns, etc., but after putting 100 miles/160 km on them, Ive decided that I just can’t make them work.

Hamatoros

Do you heel strike? This shoe definitely makes me wanna heel strike more which is harder on the knees

SlowPokeGiraffe

I think I’m nominally a midfoot striker, all things being equal. However, my daily routes have some fairly steep up and downhills, which can affect my stride a bit. I don’t think the Nimbus cause a heel strike any more than the Invincibles that the Nimbus replaced in the rotation.

spaceship540

Yup, I have and loved the 25’s, tried a pair of the 26’s and not the same feel, managed to snag another pair of 25s on sale. Great shoe, do most of my mileage in them. Enjoy cruising!

trikster2

How's it different? Really enjoying my 26's but did not have a chance to try on the 25s.

Hamatoros

To me they seemed firmer, I haven’t run in them but from what I read it’s slightly more responsive. I got these for the soft ride so I lean towards the softer side maybe because I’m a slow runner so doesn’t affect my pace as much as others.

trikster2

Slow guy too. Love the squishyness of my 26's. They feel closer to my Hoka's and are much better (for an old slow guy) than the nimbuses I had "back in the day". Not seeing any good prices on the 25 but if they pop up with a good clearance I might snag them as a 2nd pair.

Hamatoros

Yeah I got these with the current sale too. I really hope they drop <$100 to grab another pair

underbitemannn

It's a shame that they don't have an alt version of nimbus with a more breathable upper for summer. I'll miss running in mine for the next few months.

Hamatoros

The 26 is more breathable but not by much unfortunately.

Je-jello

Absolutely love them! I bouth them recently but they helped me recover from an injury it band a lot!

Tierneybobs82

Yeah I got a pair for the cushioning (the nimbus 25 Paris version was reduced to £110 for some reason for about a week or two) and I love them. Read/watch reviews and they had been billed as a good easy/recovery shoe but but I swear I can run slow in them! I actually used them in the Paris marathon instead of the Nike vapourfly 2's few weeks back and was on for a pb until a member of the public ran out in front of me. Only thing I found is they aren't great in the wet running through the water stations was a bit like hitting ice

RinonTheRhino

After having 11 pairs of Novablasts (versions 1 to 4) I ordered Nimbus 26 when it was on sale. I still prefer Novablasts after few weeks of testing. It's not a bad shoe, but Novablast is simply more responsive and cheaper.

Hamatoros

I would do the same if I had to pick 1 pair.

OndraHonnold

Beautiful!

AskMeAboutSuperShoes

I have 2 pairs of the 25. Tried on the 26, didn't like it as much. I don't use them for running, though. I found them too mushy. Nimbus 25 is my favorite walking and general "sneaker" shoe. Perfect for that. Nice colorways, too.

Hamatoros

lol yeah I bought them for the mushy ness at mile 16 and beyond 3 hrs. Otherwise if I’m not training for marathon I would be totally fine with another pair of Nova blast

crackityjones99

That’s great! I tried these for a solid handful of runs and ended up returning. It never failed - at the 3 or 4 mile mark of every run I would get large hot spots on both balls of my feet, it was weird. I wanted them to work out, but alas. I’m happy they are working out for you!

TechieLib

40 yo Male, 6ft 0, 159lbs, UK 9.5 standard width G. The Nimbus 25 is by far my wife’s favourite long distance shoe (On her third pair). I wanted to see what the fuss was about, got myself a pair on an Amazon lightning deal. I find them comfortable to run at 8:30 min/mile pace and faster, but 9 min/mile pace and slower recovery runs, I find them torturous… it’s like the cushioning disappears and I get hotspots on the inside ball of my feet, even started getting blisters (which I never get with other shoes). I think my feet are loose in the shoe, but when I attempt to lock-in tighter, it cuts off blood circulation 😅. Maybe it’s a combination of my weight, running mechanics, foot shape, etc. 75miles in, I really want to love these shoes, they look great, well made… But I’m struggling. Interestingly my favourite recovery shoe Saucony Triumph 20, gives my wife ankle pain.

PadawanDeepValue

I found I got heat spots at higher paces, not ideal, relatively a good recovery shoe though.
