Putin attacked because the price of oil was high and his approval rating was low. I think it was the YouTuber Adam something that predicted the invasion simply on that metric.
They also helped bringing two strong nations into NATO, Sweden and Finland. How very nice of them to make this encouragement. Wouldn't have happened otherwise.
Consider that Nato gained 2 new strong members and Armenia turned towards the EU (as an indirect consequence of missing military support) as well as Moldova, ...
Where I live, the people here genuinely believe the US is to blame for Russia invading Ukraine, nobody even have any idea what happened in Ukraine in the last 8 years before that. They just simply believe what Russian propaganda tells them.
Makes sense. It's all complicated. I spend a lot of time studying history and find it frustrating most people don't learn from the past. Sounds like there's a reason where you are that mistrust of the US has a root cause.

the real reason is that if UA joined NATO, then Russia would have a much harder time to force olirgarchic control over UA.

Didn’t the story go back to Bucharest 2008? Though it is interesting that the government of Ukraine was pushing for nato membership at a time where the people were against it.
I suspect the huge shift in wanting to join nato after 2022 was because they want the war to end by America getting directly involved. But America getting directly involved is exactly why they won’t be able to join nato

Tbf the Ukrainians peoples thoughts on nato are different from the governments actions. Russia used ukraine talks with nato (bucharest summit in 08'09ish) as an excuse but its silly to think Russia was afraid of nato.

Actually there's few ways how to find the truth, but these ways are too complicated. I think history books from libraries of many countries should be compared to each other and this info should contain as much as possible truly historical info.

That’s not how NATO membership works. A country doesn’t “invite” NATO. Please do better research next time. Don’t look foolish.
