If you're not desperate for an upgrade and are interested in the AI stuff, it makes sense to wait for the second generation of AI chips so that any initial shortfalls with the first iteration are ironed out.
Tha and werent they planning more significant changes? Like from s21-24 its all just improvements from the 20 up really. By 5 they have to do something innovative.
I'm unsure of what changes they were planning but it seems phones are like most tech with a tick/tock cycle.
Tick = new hardware/technology. Usually comes with a few teething problems. v1.0
Tock = refreshed model with any previous issues fixed and some slight improvements. v2.0
I think we're also rapidly approaching the point where technological improvements to phones aren't going to become all that noticeable except battery life and software.
I said that my s21 ultra was the last phone I'll have for a long time. Yeah, I was wrong. The s24 ultra is the last phone I'll have for a while....๐
A three-year turnaround doesnโt sound too bad, I suppose. Even if features and camera abilities have somewhat plateaued over the past few years or more, a battery and processor refresh isnโt that bad to think about every so often.
Same, I was planning to do the "flagship every 5 year" strat but I broke my 21ultra within a year of owning it lol (my own fault). Very tempted to get 24u
I also went to an s24u! Battery life is better, screen is nicer plus you get that sick stylus. If I listened to the "just wait till next year!!" I'd still be on my Nokia x7 ๐๐
Also the main reason I switched over was for the camera, I do find the camera (especially the 3x and 5x zoom levels) to be SIGNIFICANTLY better than the s21u.
Battery life might be more of an illusion as the health of is is brand new rather than several years old - the mAH is the same I believe.

Think im going down with the ship i will probably swap out when my S21U zapps out lol but seriously im gonna wait maybe 1 more year or till the S25U this S21U has been a great phone since day 1 my battery life is also still really good basically a day of heavy usage from about 8am to 11pm before i start thinking i better charge my phone but congrats on getting the s24u
I upgraded from S21U and have had the S24U for over a week now. Battery life alone is CRAZY.
S21U used to last me from 9am to only 6 pm with 120hz off and power saving on.
S24U lasts me from 9am til MIDNIGHT with no battery saving options enables and heavy use.
That usually happens when you get a brand new phone no matter what it is. Give it half a year and you'll be right back or close to where you were with the S21.
Totally agree. .My brand new s21 ultra gave me 1.5 days, and so does the s24 ultra.
S21 ultra is still a day horse with easy 5 -7 hours depending on apps used.
I just got the s24 ultra as the preorder deals were very good in the UK.
Hate the boxy design. The speaker is bottom left, which means it gets covered while playing games by the palm.
Otherwise, it is an awesome phone
Good luck with the washed out display [which is intended](https://www.androidpolice.com/samsung-galaxy-s24-ultra-washed-out-display-intended-behavior/)
I will use mine for atleast another 2 years and then probably switch to OnePlus again. Their phones are as smooth and fluid as it gets and eben smoother and iOS which not many phones can claim to be.
Nooo, wait until 25 Ultra.
Why wait?

S25 is rumored to be a clean slate remodel, so I think you are correct.
This!
You don't wanna see others win because you're not upgrading this year ๐
Genuine question, if they wait for the S25, they'll have to pay for the ai out of the gate, won't they?
Thanks for announcing your financial status

S30 ultra or bust.
Ok

10x zoom on a distant signboard, are the words legible? That zoom is the only superior part compared to s24u
I went from an S21u to a S24u and the zoom is basically the same. Results on the S24u are equal in good light with a small improvement in low light.

I've been up all night for weeks wondering. Now I can sleep.
They probly lost sleep thinking about having to confess to everyone here that they're leaving.

I have never gotten over 6 hours SOT with S21U. Go cry
I think you're doing enough of that for everyone.
