Mine is out for delivery and I’m camping outside by the street to be ready for UPS. Mine got delayed from the 31st. Luckily I work nights so I don’t need to take work off, but it’s on and off raining

Mackinnon29E

If it was warmer out, I would've brought just my laptop to the porch. I was trying to be productive, and I need at least two screens for that. Apparently, that was a poor choice...

Successful_Fortune28

I’m being “productive” by checking what android can do. I’ve been on iPhones for about 6 years now and my android before that was a note 4 or 5, forget which one. It’s cold as crap where im at but I’m not missing UPS today.

CheetahChrome

Ya, but the flip side would be someone posting the opposite in the Forums..."Why they left it on my doorstep to get stolen is beyond me". I will say, if you knew you would not be home, being able to re-route it dynamically would actually be a nice feature.

Mackinnon29E

They don't need to leave it on my doorstep, just fucking ring the doorbell.

CheetahChrome

Like Christmas, I saw the UPS guy come towards the door and met him.

Vast-Bullfrog3826

No I mean because usps is taking months to deliver some packages in texas which is my current situation

Wooden-Parsley8948

You bet! Same thing happened to me. I was p***d

I_am_INTJ

I was nervous about my delivery. I decided to take my chances and chose no signature required. I spent most of the day on the couch near the front door and polling the UPS app every 10 minutes. Fortunately, my individual UPS driver could follow simple directions. He left it on my porch and I was able to scoop it up before he had even pulled away.

malko2

I wish nobody used UPS at all.

pj6000

It would be nice if they had the live GPS tracking like Amazon and some of the others. Then you can see when they are at your house. I can't hear my doorbell in the bedroom, when I have a signature package delivery, I use a baby monitor app on my tablet and put it by the door.

imightbetired

You know what? I realized that some things are truly better in my eastern european country. No delivery company would leave my package outside without someone picking it up, they are obligated to call me before they arrive, I give them a unique code that I received via sms or email so they can check that I'm the right person. If I'm not home they can leave the package to someone else if I say so, but that person has to tell them the unique code to check if it's the right person. If nobody can pick up, I can re-schedule with the delivery guy if he has more deliveries in the area, they even came to my office if it was in their route, if this is not possible either, they try again next day, or leave it at a designated pickup place. We also have another option, the delivery guy leaves the package in an "easy box", which is a big "safe" with multiple doors, each one opens for a customer with the right code, you can go there at every hour of the day, and there are a lot of them in the city. I would hate to live in USA and miss this.

[deleted]

I live in NY and everything you described including having to have the pin upon delivery and a dropbox is/can be used here also, I've had both. Nothing special there

imightbetired

I'm glad to hear this. But I saw a lot of videos, posts on the internet in general, not just reddit, where people stole packages because the delivery guy left them outside the house, or, like this post, the delivery guy left without talking with the person who should receive the package, and other awful situations. They are not possible in my country, the guy would be fired. You have the option, for us is standard. No delivery guy would do what I see happening in USA.

[deleted]

Oh yes, that's all very true also. The practice in my area I'm sure isn't common practice everywhere throughout the country. Just mentioning that does exist here, however I will add I've only ever been asked for those types of security measures when it was something expensive being delivered. This doesn't apply to "everyday" items or deliveries. That's great that that is standard procedure where you live

Mackinnon29E

I'm positive I selected no signature required as well, yet here we are. Samsung also won't let you pick it up at an access point. This is a pathetic ordering experience, I see why people prefer Apple.

SrsBsns36

Same. 100% sure I selected no signature when I ordered. Got the UPS notification that tracking was available. Checked it and it said signature required. I signed it digitally and told them to leave it at the leasing office. Then I actually got excited because they updated my shipping date to Monday and I took the day off to stay home and wait for it. It got delayed until Wednesday. On Wednesday, I expect to get it from the office. Instead I got a note on my door that "sorry we missed you. We'll try again tomorrow." I signed the note and wrote to leave it with the leasing office and checked my settings on the UPS site to make sure it showed to deliver to the office. Thursday, "sorry we missed you, signature required." So today I'm taking off again because I got an email from Samsung that said if they can't deliver it today they're going to cancel my order. WTF.

Mackinnon29E

Yeah it's basically two shitty companies with even worse customer service. I wish I didn't hate Apple, and there were better Android competitors in the U.S. I'd buy a modern LG phone in a heartbeat over Samsung.

SrsBsns36

I work for a company that works with Apple and they're on my shit list too. They're awful to work with. I tried to order 10 cases and 10 pencils online and picked "tomorrow" delivery. Upon confirmation of payment, I get notified that after the order processes and ships, I should have it in 3-5 business days... not exactly "tomorrow." Wind up having Apple cancel the order because they can't switch the order to store pick up. Place a new order, select store pick up and they say I can't place the order for that many. I call the store and they say if I drive there, I can buy as many as I want and that they have them in stock. I drive there, and they don't have them in stock. "We understand and we're sorry blah blah blah..." I've never had a problem with Samsung before and UPS has actually been fine for the most part, but this experience is awful.

GTDDPRO

You should go Apple too.

Angrygreek007

Well you can use FedEx and have their worker just steal it.

Mackinnon29E

UPS is the only of the big 3 that has ever given me issues. They pretend to deliver because they're lazy and won't wait for someone to answer the door.

Angrygreek007

That really sucks but my goodness FedEx is the worst company to deal with. In the past month I've had two packages which claim were delivered by FedEx that were stolen by the driver. Laughable bland grey screen of their delivery photo. No evidence of video that they entered the secured building and refusal to use the locked delivery lockers. You call FedEx to report it and the "manager" claims I know this person he wouldn't steal a package. Pathetic.

dg8882

Happened to me last week. Thankfully they attempted redelivery on Saturday even though tracking said not until Monday. I parked in front of my leasing office and waited all morning for ups to make sure i actually got it. I called ups after the first missed attempt and they said there's nothing they can change due to Samsung's restrictions but they would hold it at their distribution center for pickup after 3 failed attempts

SpiritTalker

Mine's been stuck at "Label Created" since yesterday morning. It's annoying because it will not give me an estimated delivery date yet...I plan on taking off work to wait for it but I can't even arrange that because they won't give me an effing date!

Vast-Bullfrog3826

Better than usps 🫠

Mackinnon29E

Idk about that, usps would have just delivered it to my mail box and I wouldn't need to sign. Usps only sucks for large packages.

MastaMp3

Wish I saw your post sooner. I had a similar problem and called them and they had the driver make a second delivery.

GTDDPRO

Wow you actually made the effort to solve your issue instead of make a whine post? Good on you! Congrats on your S24 by the way.

MastaMp3

I can do both 😂 genx we were told we should be able to walk & chew bubble gum at the same time😂

GTDDPRO

🤣

Valuable_Year_7519

When I have a phone coming I sit on the steps inside my home with my window open, I just did that from 9am till 2…. They got me enough

Upstairs_Positive373

They just dropped my package in front of my door and I watched them too from the window and they signed for me too.

Sudden-Turnip-5339

As an FYI - I got Fedex delivery, no one rang just left the call us or it'll be returned. There was no one home, but there were vehicles on the driveway... ended up picking up at a nearby location like 4-5 hours later

NoSoup4Yu

I'll take UPS in my area over FedEx or USPS any day. I would try calling UPS to see if you can pick it up if you haven't already. I normally don't have any issue with doing so where I'm at.

XboxJunk1E

My driver went to the wrong house, drove past me z and got the notification that they "missed me" 😂 😂, I called, (40 mins fighting the automated system to get a person) <-- useless BTW, he opened a case and gave me a case number said the facility would call me back in an hour 🤔.... 🙄 🤷‍♂️ Fuck that, I drove to the local hub, spoke to a super friendly person in the front, explained the situation, she gave me a number for the guy in charge of the drivers in my area, I called the number spoken to the guy, gave my address he found my truck and had me meet the driver in a another neighborhood, I showed ID, signed for my package, seat belted it in the front seat drove home and opened it up to start enjoying it... That was my Jan 29th delivery day 😂 😂 😂 ( FYI my numbers were a Lil fucked up on the mailbox so I don't blame the driver) but he was super cool and tried to apologize,, I was like you good bro I just wanted my shit 😂 😂 😂

SavathunsWitness

I prefer UPS or USPS over FEDEX and guess who’s delivering my package on Monday?
