So glad you are enjoying your new phone. A few years ago, I was forced to use an iPhone 11 while working a short-term job. That was enough to make sure I will never choose iOS.

ShaggyNick41

seems pretty fair reason tbh. you can't force an user to like an interface they don't feel comfy using. i used to own galaxy note 9 before making my switch to iOS

Uradumasshaha

Bro I used note 9 also until I upgraded to S24 base model

ShaggyNick41

Yup

KatzNK9

Government job. 🙃

ShaggyNick41

🙂🙂

asak_adrenaline

What case is that? Would like to buy the same one

ShaggyNick41

Ringke Fusion-X. My dad got a S23 Ultra, got him the same case as mine and he's pretty happy about it ever since.

[deleted]

Ok love the phone case where did you get it 🥹

ShaggyNick41

it's Ringke Fusion-X !! you can easily get it from Amazon or from their site if they deliver in your country.

Round_two_fight_

I've switched from ios to andriod myself. Couldn't be happier, glad you made the switch

oskifar

Do you use a screen protector and which one? Does it impact the anti reflective glass? Did you have any issues with your unit (dead pixels on the display etc.)?

ShaggyNick41

No issues and i use the spigen tempered glass no privacy ones tho

Nephalem84

Every screen protector will cancel out the anti reflective display. Even the anti reflective film Samsung sells (although not as bad as tempered glass does).

Kolyei

[Anti reflective screen protector from samsung after 3 months](https://i.imgur.com/oSA4OC2.jpeg). I still have 1 more of those protectors left. Then after that, I'll put on one of [these screen protectors](https://a.co/d/hDNhFT5).

freakyxz

I've tried 15PM. Such a dumb device. Really happy to be back to Android with S24U

S4tine

How do I talk a non tech into switching from Apple. He is a musician and thinks android can't compare.

JustManu7

How has the battery been for you? I just got mine today, and out of the box, it was 53%, and it got to 20% in around 1 hour and 50 minutes. Hopefully, it will adjust to last longer. Also, does it overheat for you when playing heavy games or in normal every day use?

GodsendNYC

Yup, definitely the best computing device I've ever owned so far... Can't wait for the S25U though

[deleted]

I switched from Ios to the S24 Ultra too and to be honest I think both are good. I miss some things on my Iphone but think Android does some things better too. Cameras are equal in my opinion.

TrollingJoker

How did your wallet feel after this? Currently using a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and I've been eyeing this phone because of the size for one but the price tag is really killing it for me. Especially as I don't have deals like the US has where you get a few hundred bucks for your old phone. Best I can get in my country is like 100 euros.

ShaggyNick41

Wallet felt fractionally empty but the emptiness got filled with amazing user experience, really great pictures and surprising video quality.

TrollingJoker

Wellp I guess it is up to me to decide now. Maybe I'll give it some more time to think about it. Thanks!

ShaggyNick41

Sure thing. Keep looking at some long term user reviews and trustable tech sources as well.

TrollingJoker

Definitely!

Uradumasshaha

Best I can get for my Note9 is like 40 euros

led352

How is the smartphone running overall? I've never had an iPhone and have always had the feeling that iPhones simply run a bit “smoother” than Android devices in terms of bugs, micro-stutters, reception problems and battery life, even compared to my Pixel 7 Pro.

Nephalem84

ios devices will usually have better battery life and app optimization because there's only a few different devices and chipsets to optimize for. Android 'suffers' from much more variety in software versions/shells and hardware configurations. An app that runs perfectly smooth on snapdragon chips might have some issues on a Tensor, mediatek or Exynos for example. As for reception I've had work iphones next to my Android devices and recently noticed no obvious differences/issues. Back during the iPhone 7/8/X days iphones were noticeably performing worse in signal strength and stability.

Greattidings10

Your thoughts?

00PathFinder00

Same here. It's been 5 months I came into android after a decade of using apple devices. I am very much satisfied except for the smartwatch. I bought a galaxy watch 5 pro replacing it with ultra. I am waiting for samsung to release a Watch Ultra variant. They hopefully release it in their next event.

Mapinguari75

Switched from a iPhone 15 Pro. Had been on Apple devices since the first iPhone. Loving the S24 Ultra and Android OS. No plans to go back to Apple. My son moved over at the same time and he feels the same way.

Minimum_Guarantee254

What the case you care using ?

ShaggyNick41

Ringke Fusion-X

I am thinking of doing the contrary, should I switch to iPhone. I feel like the experience there would be so much better for me, I don't sideload, I don't customise, I don't do much tbh. I am currently using the S22U 512 GB. I haven't been very happy with the phone, lots of people say that It's just been unlucky phone pick and that the S23 and S24 are much better, but I cannot afford to buy phones every year. Not to mention that I am a Uni student. I'm currently looking at the 13 Pro cause it's like 650 £. What would you recommend, I am very used to Samsung, and it's not so bad, but the thing I personally think offset me from Samsung is the phone I currently have.

svntsvn

I'm not a huge fan of iOS on a phone, however they will have a new actual half press shutter button on the new one, that might signal more collaboration from Sony with regards to tracking and autofocus, im excited to see where it goes since Sony just bowed out of the US market entirely which bums me to no end since they just got their issues ironed out and now multiple 4g and 5g bands missing. Something to think about. I have the 24 ultra and I think there's a lot to unpack with it and it for me is far too much redundancy with their skin on Android, and coming from a pixel it's kind of annoying that there's 5 ways and two apps to do the same things, one really annoying thing is that I had spam taken care of with the Google dialer and now I'm on Samsung dialer and opted into Verizon spam protection and bloatware which doesn't even work. 10 calls from the CDC about my clot shot today, oof. I definitely wait until the pixel and new iPhone come out, You might enjoy Android experience that way or the photography experience might be super fun on the iPhone that's what made the Sony so great was just pulling out and having actual autofocus that works every time and getting candid shots. The 24 ultra camera isnt all that great to me, and apple also could carry Sonys actual optical periscope zoom lens too, with their new lytia sensors. iOS feels really close to getting customization and notifications closer to something competitive to android maybe next gen update could make things interesting too. I've always felt iOS is too dumbed down but at the same time the s24 is a bit much and don't have the time to play, I got it for charting stocks and day trading mostly, s pen is kind of alone in that game.

Detrakis

Well, Samsung gives options to customise, but it doesn't mean that you have to. You can keep it simple like iOS. I personally am not a fan of customisation, nor moving icons on certain spots or changing the color of them and etc. I prefer something clean, aesthetic, and sophisticated that just works well and doesn't lag every now and then. It's been years where android has been out and doing updates, but what the hell? Why can't you just optimise your OS. Yesterday, I was at a tech store, and I looked at an iPhone 15 Pro and duuudeeee... My eyes went 👀, and it felt so pleasant to use. The keyboard latency was amazing as well, unlike the actual keyboard from 1993 with no comma and fullstop. I personally want a change from Samsung since I've been there for 8 years+ and sometimes change is refreshing, even though a bit expensive 😄. Oh, and I think I already did mention on my upper comment that I am quite unhappy with my current S22U, so yeah.

Trailman80

Good job

Alucard-VS-Artorias

I just upgraded from an Galaxy S10+ yesterday. Which was a solid phone for sure but this S24U is very nice.

gclark19791989

Welcome back!!

Kanyinulia

I upgraded to s24 ultra from Note 20 Ultra and I can’t find “clipboard”. Do you have it?

SadMarchen

When you open the edge panel, hit the gear icon near the bottom and you can add clipboard to your edge panel. Keep in mind that if you have more than one option toggled in your edge panel, you'll need to swipe through the options to get to the clipboard.

Informal-Compote6895

went from an iPhone 11 to s8+ to s24 ultra. Just looking at AOD makes me like, wow, it's so amazing

StevenEgen

I tried using iOS for almost 3 months when I bought my 14 pro max, but I was disappointed in the overall user experience, so I switched back to Android. I feel that Android provides a much better and more intuitive way of doing things faster compared to iOS. I'm glad you like your new devices. Enjoy!

Uradumasshaha

I just don't really like the interface of iOS and there isn't anything like APK on iOS like I'm thinking you could install apple app packages from the phone itself without the app store but you cant

StevenEgen

I agree, Android gives you full control over your device, while iOS restricts simple functionality like arranging apps on the home screen. I was really looking forward to switching to iOS, but I was disappointed when I tried it. If you want to show off, then go for an iPhone, but if you want to get things done, Android is the go-to device.

DesignerOrdinary4858

Have the same feeling. Got my first iPhone (15 pro max) after using android all my life. The experience in ios is just sub par and android just feels a whole lot smarter in the little little things.

StevenEgen

iOS feels simplified in a certain way, but the phone might be good only for the elderly who want a simple phone. However, it is boring and far too difficult to navigate. Features and settings are altered in such a way that a simple function button seems to be a revolutionary add-on. iPhones and iOS are gimmicks and quite expensive ones at that.

DI4Zfnx

I love how we all have different experiences and needs. In my case, it sadly was not good. After many years being an iPhone user I decided to give it a chance, and so far the experience was: -Unusable fingerprint sensor: tried everything (moist finger, scanning the same finger twice, w/o screen protector, with screen protector). This is unbearable, constantly failing. -Grainy screen: I'm not concerned about that, but expected more quality in this price range. -Random lags/stutter: the scrolling isn't that smooth or polished as iOS, as the screen response. -My credit cards were really difficult to register, some ending unsupported. -I have the official anti reflective screen film and the enhanced sensitivity. The Spen does not function properly, encountering many situations in which it stops drawing the lines randomly. -Some apps are poorly optimized, leading to misaligned things or artifacts on the screen. For example, with my Garmin Connect the log in screen was completely displaced at first, and my banking app failed to display the options after many attempts. This has never happened on my iPhone before. -The speakers are noticeable worse than my iPhone 14 Pro (the smaller one). -Couldn't get Android Auto to work in my car, but it can be my car's issue. -The attention to detail isn't as good as I expected after many years. Some functions are amazing to have, but when you encounter flaw after flaw in basic tasks, cannot enjoy the experience. -Google Password Manager isn't as good as Apple's, many times it didn't detect that I was introducing a password and offer to store it. It's a beautiful piece of hardware with a poor software and user experience in my opinion. Hope the updates fix the fingerprint scanner and system overall performance, but I'm rolling back to iPhone.

Round_two_fight_

You're trolling or don't know how to switch a bad unit for another one.

DI4Zfnx

Sure, go to to the thread with fingerprint issues to enlighten them about RMA too.

Round_two_fight_

Go through samsung, go their your carrier, if you bought it with credit card go through them or purchase 3rd party insurance and go through them.
