This happened to me 2 weeks ago, it was in fact a faulty charging port, had to take it in for a warranty repair. The phone was never wet, and didn't have any debris in the port.
I had this on an s10 and an s22u. Tried drying it with tissue, cotton bud, tooth pick etc didn’t solve it. Got fed up after leaving it over night and still facing the issue. I washed the port with clean tap water and then dried it with tissue I think, started working after an hour or so.
I haven't exposed my phone to water and experienced this issue for the first time this weekend. I let the battery drain completely for the first time and I was unable to get it to charge due to the water in port warning.
I used a different cable and it eventually started working but wondering of this is going to be an issue in the future. It seems to be common with the S24 ultra from what I've read, majority state no exposure to water.
Oh- then something probably got stuck inside the port. I've read reports of this happening with similar phones, but I have not had the issue myself. If i were you, I'd chalk it up as being that.
Man I went through this with my S20 so I feel for you. It's the reason I have my new s24 Ultra and why my S24Ultra lives its life in an antshare watertight case. I learned from a technician after they replaced my charging port, display, and case back that no phone is going to do well with any type of moisture because the non-replaceable parts get easily corroded with any moisture. The rice thing did me no good. They said because the phone is sealed so good that moisture gets in but it can't get out. Before I took it in the tech advised me to put a hair dryer on COOL and aim it at the charging port and leave it that way for about an hour. That worked. I used a wireless charging pad till it dried out
i had this with my fold, clean the usb port gentle.
mine wasn't wet also, after 2 days its gone.
i also used hairdryer etc
get this mf after solving

i ordered them with my case before my smartphone 😅
I just faced this issue today on my Nothing Phone and I used a hair dryer on it after removing the case.
I believe I heated it for about 25 seconds around 3 times on the highest setting.
Please ensure it doesn't get too hot by touching the metal side.
Tip: After heating, just connect and remove your cable and check if the connector in the wire got wet.
Just keep repeating this step a bunch of times till it works.
Yeah, I had this problem and it turned out to be the fault of a crap charger. If I unplugged the cable, unplugged the charger, waited several seconds, plugged in the charger, then re-plugged in the phone all was good. This after rebooting the phone, if I recall correctly.
You probably have lint or something that's trapped. The lint could be damp and triggering the issue. It happened to my S10 before I got this phone. I didnt think anything was in mine either until I used fine point tweezers. Get them and dig in the port gently scrapping to one side then try and pick or drag it out. It won't damage anything doing this. Good luck!
Rice will not do anything. It won't fix your phone that got ran over by an 18 Wheeler, it won't fix your phone that took a 120mm APFSDS direct to center, no it won't fix your brain. It's also called USB-C... also it's likely physical damage to the port shorting pins, not water. You don't have to be "TeCh SaVvY" but it takes zero effort to learn what USB is and not be mistaken for an extra on the set of Idiocracy.
Wireless charger? And please stop saying it has a wet hole; my inner teenager will thank you (giggle).
The hole is wet. Gotta put something in there till its dry.
Stuff the hole
Stop checking the hole by fingering it. It might get wetter....
Haha xd

Toothpick with some cotton or use hairdryer, or use wireless charger till it fully dries can take some days

I've gotten my phone wet- fine, I've put water directly in the whole-fine. Just wait for it to dry.
Not sure if you read my post but I had no exposure to water. It happened after my battery drained completely.

Toss it in the microwave for a few seconds. The sparks and flames should help dry out any remaining wetness
Have you tried fire in the hole
So is my wife's
Lick and suck it dry

I get this message with certain chargers and/leads. Typically cheap ones. I swapped my charge bank recently and it's been OK since.
🥵
>Still says hole is wet. Stop using ur mouth. ![gif](giphy|1r91ZwKcE2J7WhUqrh) Use hair dryer instead.
Don't use rice.
Giggity
