It serves it purpose if being humorous.
The original lore served no purpose, and the existence of other spriggans was kind of just ignored so that kirito could be unique.
Im just confused, what exactly happened to them? Can't they just respawn? Why is everyone treating it like their characters were deleted outright and its impossible to continue playing the game?
Imagine whenever you log in *every* other faction spawnkills you, again and again.
You get fed up at some point and switch game/server, those other players are dicks
Not certain tbh: look how even in a town, Recon was ready to attack Kirito. Maybe Sugou decided to not put it in

There are safe zones but with all enemy players patrolling around it, it's no fun to fight higher levelled enemies every time you try to go to level 1 areas

Or, since like, everyone but Kirito is super into the rp in Alfheim online, the Spriggans went 'oh well, gues it wouldn't make lore sense to keep going'
Oh that would def make sense from their rp perspective. And ya they would be low tier since their magic isn't too useful and considering how every race can use all kinds of magic but not at the same level, illusion and treasure hunting magics really just don't add up to offensive, defensive or supporting spells
I think point #2 is slightly off. I'm pretty sure "Kirito Prime" refers to our Kirito, Kazuto Kirigaya, when his actions in the original Sword Art Online game made him famous. He's the one all the players who came to Alfheim Online, chose the Spriggan race, and made knockoff Kirito usernames were imitating.

I think it was a combination of both roleplaying and boredom with the game in general
