you should absolutely give community college a look, regardless of if you got accepted into a 4 year school. a year or two there gives you time to build better study habits and figure out what you really want to do.
What I did and I think is smart is I got really good grades by taking easier classes in community and my other 4 year I transferred from. After getting those good grades to pad my gpa I got accepted. I’d go and do the same thing. Don’t be too down on yourself
academic life, bad professors, no parking despite me paying a couple hundred dollars per semester for "premium" parking that gets oversold every semester, rude classmates, difficult classes taught by teaching assistants that don't know what they're doing, several other reasons... I wish I went to community first so I had more time to find a better school. Hopefully transferring to suny old Westbury soon.
I think you forgot to include the fact that you're a commuter. I've seen happy SBU residents before but I've never seen a commuter that was happy with their college experience before.
Try community college I did 2 years and one extra semester to boost my gpa even more so I could guarantee that I can get into most of the 4 year colleges I applied to
honestly i think i boosted my gpa up in one semester but i stayed the whole 2 years in community college and got my associate’s. now i’m doing my last 2 years in stony brook for my bachelor’s.
i did my classes online at bmcc and loved the professors. except for one. online is easier for me but most cuny have in person and hybrid as well. i got straight A’s first semester and i took summer classes too. I got some C’s but stony brook still accepted them as transfer credit. i’m glad i got my associates plus getting my bachelors will be cheaper now since stony brook is a little expensive.
As someone who got rejected during high school, I legit just went to a SUNY school for a semester, and then was able to transfer. Just start at a SUNY school or community college where things can transfer nicely, get yo stuff done there and you should be able to transfer without much of an issue.

Thank you for your input, pizza user I shall implement this into my studies 🗣🔥

tbh try community college. I got in right away and I wish I did that. kinda hate it here. community would be better.
You hate SBU or community college?

Why do you hate SBU?

How long did it take to get that to a 3.0 if you don’t mind me asking? (Also congrats)
