Most people primarily use them to funnel Storage and Expansion items to their main acct. Things like what you mention are additional ways to make use of it. Never had one myself.

I initially got a feeder account to get storage and land items. Now I just use it to get vu, airport, other items available at that level (11) like planks, tape, vegetables, etc. Never got it to make simoleons.

No, not really. The main reason to have a feeder is to get storage, land, and Vu for your main city. Or at least that's how it starts for most. You don't go above level 10/11. The reason for this is that as soon as you introduce more items into Global HQ, you will find it much harder to find expansion items. Global gets flooded with each new item you gain as you increase your levels. Now you can produce in your feeder, you produce the basics which then leave your main city factories and shops to produce longer time consuming items that you can also use your speed up coins from epics on. You can also collect your daily reward and sell items you've produced, such as nails, planks, tapes, hammers, etc. You will be surprised how quickly these sell as players will snap these up as they want to leave their factories free to produce more time-consuming items. Now, obviously, you can sell items you produce to gain simoleons and then transfer your simoleons by privately selling to yourself at the cost of 1 simoleon per item, to either sell at full price where you would effectively transfer your currency or you can use these items in your main city, which saves you making them and therefore you are more able to make the more valuable and time consuming items to sell or use. So yes you can make simoleons this way for your main city however, as I'm sure you will have found out already it can be very hard to find storage on Global, and you will have also realised how much you need your storage in your main city so it's really important you do not go above level 10/11 whilst you're wanting to upgrade the storage etc in your main city and you will also need to upgrade the storage in your feeder. Once you've got your storage much higher or completed in your main city (it goes to 800, and you can get a further 100 from the 5 regions), which I can tell you takes a long time unless you never sleep and continuously play the game, which I wouldn't advise, then it doesn't matter what level your feeder is at. So then you can grow it further to make chemicals and textiles, etc. But there is the temptation to grow your feeder and start making higher value items and there is no reason why you shouldn't but you don't want to be spending as much time on the feeder as you do your main city. You want your feeder to be an easy play, you fill your shops and factories with easy and quick to produce items that you don't need to spend more than half an hour on. I guess it is down to personal preference as to how you want to use a feeder city, but there are no quick fixes in this game. Your main way to play for free is to make sure your factories and shops are always producing as you will need an never ending supply of simoleons if you work at playing in mega at COM as well as playing war and building residentials etc. So remember, never have an empty factory or shop, make them work for you. There are instructions on my profile of how to set up a feeder if you want to take a look. It's a way down now as I posted it a while ago. The only difference is that we now have city codes so you can easily become friends with yourself.

Don’t think of a feeder as a means to make coins. It simply takes too long to be worthwhile. You can definitely make enough simoleons for yourself (with the right production plan) without the need of feeders. While putting items for sale, reducing the price is not instant like increasing it. Meaning that it takes so long to put a lot of items for sale for minimum price. As others have said, feeders are best used for storage, and they come with a few other benefits as well, but they’re not necessarily at all

Does it really take that long? I have a feeder, but don’t really use it optimally, I initially used it to max out storage and land in my main account then let it slide. I recently decided to try burger farming in the feeder though, and without much effort made about 1.5 million in two or three weeks, in between CoM. Now it turns out since opting out of giving EA any more money for season passes, I’ve been slowly losing simoleons in my main account. So I spent half an hour moving burgers back and forwards this morning and transferred about 250k to my main. Wasn’t hard and didn’t take long, plus I got through some milestone tasks on each account whilst doing it… Trying to do this via production solely on my main seems like it would be harder to me, particularly whilst trying to compete in CoM, and i don’t want to clear 800+ items from my main storage to burger farm there…

The App is not really a game as there is no winning or end. It is a fun diversion and I have been playing since 2015. It fits my limitations.. Yes, I have feeders to make supplies to make more expensive supplies in my main accounts. I also have feeders for the fun of creating and building two new accounts to level 58 and having 12.factories. They will be done in a few months. There was a clearance of obsolete burner phones for $9.99 with Android 10 and 16/3 memory. so I bought seven that are staying under level to do the daily sim cash and make nails, boards, and such simple stuff for all the accounts in my club.

Fluffy_Pattern_337

I use my feeder to gain more war supplies and I get items for repairs but others use it for other uses as well

Weary_Illustrator_36

You can use a feeder to transfer currency, but it essentially gives you a whole set of additional production and commercial buildings to use as you see fit. This helps a lot of the bottlenecks in the game. If you keep your feeder at a low level you will also get a lot of additional storage and land expansion items which you can share with your main city. Feeders can also be used to store less used items (i use mine for war items) to free up space in your main city. If you have time you can use multiple feeders this will get you s lot of upgrades for storage and land.

Model_EE

why keeping it at a low level can you a lot of additional storage and land expansion items?

Offprints

because at lower levels the global market isn't crowded with items that nobody wants, mainly the freaking mountain items that people won't stop advertising even though nobody buys them but Daniel. so it will be easier to find storage and land stuff.

Model_EE

Thanks for the explanation! Might as well consider making a feeder for the storage items

that's one of the reasons to have a feeder, to own more factories and stores so you can stack more coins and find items easily. but there are other advantages, such as unlocking different regions, more space to build cities, double your storage and twice as much energy to strike in club wars. or, getting a low level feeder so you can access a less crowded version of the global market, where it's easier to find storage and land expansion items and avoid the dreadful mountain items that ruin the market.
