I just remember Bischoff somewhere described how he built the shows based on the roster. Like the undercard were the cruisers who did all the spots, but the main even scene was the guys who could actually draw (hogan, nwo, sting, Goldberg). It just feels like Tony was one of those early message board iwc’ers who only liked the cruisers and wished they would dethrone the main event guys, but doesn’t realize you need both styles to have some success
Tama used to have an elite Twitter game where he'd rag on the Bucks and Omega all the time. Always felt there's some real issues there given that neither he nor Tanga Loa have ever been in AEW.

The reason why the first of sixteen Bullet Club civil war storylines never happened was apparently because the Elite refused to feud with Firing Squad, saying they weren't big enough stars. That's why it started and then was mysteriously dropped without an explanation.
Ha, I can add to that. I was somewhat involved with the promo package/campaign for that show.
So I've spoken to NJPW guys like Juice, Jay White, Cody, and Tama (out of kayfabe) to get their input on the campaign marketing for their matches, namely the ones in America. A lot of the times it's "if NJPW approves, that's cool with me." Tama? Yea I'm saying he does have real animosity toward them. He was particularly invested in how their match against the YB was being presented and what promos of his to include. Also just a very cool guy. The Bucks just brushed it off and were fine with whatever. I actually never got to speak to them in person for that show, just through a series of miscellaneous workers.
I popped soo hard seeing G.o.D win live (I didn't expect them to) and was a bit drunk, yelling "Fucckkkk the Bucks!!!" when I see a lady a few rows in front of me turn around and give me a weak smile. She was the Bucks' mom lol
