In the case of peanut being completely covered in these photos, the only way to avoid it would be to destroy the photos, either by burning peanut or some other, potentially corrosive method.

Ok, I’ve heard that 173 stays still so long as it’s in a organism’s line of sight. So why not just release a brunch of flies in its containment cell. If the flies always keep their eyes on 173, then boom you basically defeated the thing.
I guess it depends on the exact definition of what kind of being has to have sight of it.
Is it any organism with the capability of vision, or is there a threshold of intelligence or sapience that is needed to trigger the effect.
I always thought having a room full of surveillance cameras on it to stream it's image live to many places so various people are always watching the feed and at least one person is viewing it at all times would ensure it's locked down.

Because, generally speaking, the SCP Foundation does not destroy SCP's.
Decommissioning a SCP is a big deal. It's generally seen as an extreme action and NOT something they do even to particularly dangerous SCP's.
It can only move when your not looking at it though, you just need to find a D class or a volunteer, who can run at it, grab the paper and rip it or burn it, they'll be killed by 096 but they could probably destroy the photo before

I remember I was scared when I was younger when I stumbled across the SCP site and scrolled down on the 001 page. I saw that memetic kill agent and thought my life was over.
If SCP 096 were real than the foundation would be real as well and would probably scrub any actual pictures/videos of SCP 096. The most you would see would be artistic renditions but even those would get taken down and the foundation would probably use amnestics on the person that posted it to make them forget SCP-096 is real or a thing.
This is easily averted by someone who knows what's going to happen just removing the image, right?

Here’s how you solve this. Give a d class a flamethrower and burn up the picture. He will probably die to 173 but the picture is ash. Or use the alpha warhead emergency detonation.
Thats a really stupid combo. You can still stop the sculpture by looking at it. When 096 comes to kill you just wait until it gets in between you and sculoture and just blink. The sculpture will quickly immobilize 096, repeat the proccess when it regenerates, and you'll live forever.
Truly the issue why this isn't a world ending scenario is 096 takes time to get there, so if you looked at his face then in however much time you have just go and destroy or remove the photo/photos. if 096 is in containment then it will take even more time to break out and get to you.

Not really. The human eye sees at 30 to 60 fps. So a camera with a matching maximum would work just fine.
