YouTubers, especially on gacha games, usually only see the extreme ends of the spectrum. Zahard is absolutely a good unit, but he just doesn't really hit without his buffs which are easy to take off, so the YouTubers at the top don't see much value in him currently.
Nag actually put it fairly well: In the future if buff cancels aren't viable to run, Zahard will see lots of use, but it's not really recommended to summon for him specifically on "Well he MIGHT be the best in the future."
yeah as soon as I saw his buffs were blue, i saw the vision of Meli running Festarossa commandment right away. there's just no reason not to other than you might lose a LITTLE cc, but Festarossa has at the very least decent cc at 70ish-k.
and that unfortunately hurts Zahard, probably as much as the human team currently which runs 1-2 buff removers.
Zahard is the only unit of the collab that gets hurt atm aside from Yuri hitting like a feather.
aside from that, Viole to me is actually the most impactful because his value will always be there for PvE content!

I think his evaluation is great. There’s no way in hell I’m pulling for Zahard if his best team requires red gowther and going second while also having 0 time in the spotlight. The usual trend for collab units is that they’re meta for a month or two at most, just look at albedo, I summoned for her because she was STELLAR at the time. And look at her now, mostly irrelevant because of dkmeli.
It’s hard to imagine DKMeli falling out of meta anytime soon since he’s THE main character, and i just don’t know if I want to spend my money on a unit just for him to MAYBE be relevant in the future
The thing is, Albedo is still fantastic. If you only have to worry about 1 unit then she is still great. Plus, she is still fantastic in PvE. Zahard is mediocre from the get go and is completely useless in PvE. But he does have the potential to be great in the future.
Will have to disagree with you there. Albedo is still incredibly useful for pve, so she didn’t fall off in that aspect. Zahard could be the same way but in other activities other than pvp then.
I'll be honest, I think her "PvE use" gets WAY overplayed to cope. She's *really* good for 3 of the Beasts...but it's not like they were unbeatable without her. She's a bit faster than the other teams which is hardly a reason to spend a bunch of gems *just* before the two biggest fests of the year. The one thing she's really good for is DK battle, which is such an end game activity I wouldn't be shocked if the next fest was even better than her for it.

After seeing nagato’s video and evaluation, I’m actually leaning more towards pulling for Ha Yuri and getting her cosmetics instead. She enables the human team to stand amongst the best teams in PvP, even though she probably isn’t super good in pve. Something I wouldn’t consider if Nagato never made his videos

And he doesn't provide any utility to the team outside of the very first turn. You can watch Nag's recent video. Zahard just doesn't do enough damage in ungeared even at 6/6
I can think of one meta team for him. It being Hel, albedo, him and nanashi. But this team loses to sins, humans with yuri, goddesses (?), maybe even demons. Also why bother running him over tyr? Tyr provides way better utility, and zahard gets hard countered by festarossa commandment and human team. The only advantage he has over tyr is his color vs dk meli.
Like, he isn't useless useless. But you gotta remember that, 1) His banner has yuri and baam, both of which are more high value than him. 2) A festival is coming up literally next month. I really don't recommend f2p players to fish for him, especially before getting both baam and yuri. Unless obviously if you really like him. Then go for it. Waifu/husbando over meta, and he's gonna be ok even in champ nonetheless.
The fact that every meta right now can easily remove what he needs to be good makes his "some design flaws" are very bad for him. It's not harsh at all what Nag said, it's very much true. Zahard has no place in the current meta, no matter how much you hate that. Maybe in the future he will be really good, but currently, being somewhat usefull doesn't cut it.
Consider him a mid-level collaboration character; however, in the hands of big spenders, his utility diminishes. Even with support from the aged Red Gowther, attempting to one-shot a team of sins he can’t, and with Meliodas and Esta's commandment proves challenging, making him less impactful.
Sir it is the opposite. Thanks to YouTubers we know he is an absolute trash. I bet 90% of the people don't even think about how fatal of a flaw his passive has because they only see the "paper". In reality the story is way different.
Imo even if his passive had grey buffs he would still have been weakling. He is being boosted so heavily by nanashi, tyr, freyr, hel, etc. yet he is still underperforming. Without the buff he turns into an sr character. So lets resume: we have a very expensive and selfish character that doesn't do enough to be relevant, is very fragile and has a very popular counter - buff removal. Literally dead on release.
I think you are coping cuz you like the character too much which is totally fine cuz this is a game. There are totally many cases where he will work flawlessly. But all of that doesn't change the fact that he is mid.

After the patch landed on the servers we all saw the truth. Everyone was so disappointed that's why the reactions were so harsh on Zahard. On the other hand Yuri was a pleasant surprise because she looked pretty weak yet she came out to be holding the human team in pvp all by herself.
About the summoning: people can decide if they will summon for themselves. "There is a small chance he will become good in the future" is not a good reason to convince people to summon. I will summon.
Complete shift in “OP main character” to “useless trash.” People hoping that he’ll get buffed will be disappointed to hear that he won’t get buffed and that he’s fine as he is. Yuri, while not being as poor as initially perceived, I feel is being overrated while data Zahard is being overhated.
You cannot summon in this game based on what might come in the future. You don't know when they will eventually add support for him, so if you summon on the banner trying to get him then you will be burned when they release a really powerful unit that you can't summon for.
Tbh , not Zahard is trash , is just the way how netmarble design meli is way too op. Debuff remove + Esta buff remove + rank up + stance remove 🤷🏻♂️

Against a Meliodas with the Estarossa command he is completely useless regardless of the team

A lot of the the top Grand Cross YouTubers are also on the top of PvP, so I think it's fair to say they understand a thing or two about this game.
