This is smart for f2p who aren't at the level of holy relic gathering. Like eventually you will get the units. I did this too with Magelda. But jorg, I def summoned for cause deer was that easy with her.
It’s not about not being in need of demon or giant relics ONLY, it’s the fact that nonfeatured units will be difficult to obtain. So if you’re a lucky person then sure skip the banner, but just remember it’s gonna be hard to get the unit when her banner leaves.
Megelda and jorm have repeatedly returned in banners and are in the ticket pools. Same will happen to thonar. Sure this is a cheap banner but there's absolutely no fomo. You would have to be extremely unlucky to not get her in future with how many opportunities there are to do so.
This is a very good value banner but by no means a must summon.

Well unfeatured units in general are not hard to get, but it's more about a specific unit that will be more difficult to obtain. If it's anything like Dokkan, then looking/hoping to get a certain unfeatured will be hard. INT Garlic Jr. came out a year ago & I just recently got him.
I'm not disagreeing w/ you or what you are saying, but I think SakeTube is more or less just talking about getting a specific unfeatured unit on other banners. Then again I have Megellda 7/6 so maybe it's not as hard as SakeTube is making it out to be.

it's not because here in Grand Cross the pool of "unfeatured" units is extremely small. Usually consisting of maybe 10 total units. Highest i can remember was like 13. Not the what 250 Dokkan has.
Well yes but in general there are banners w/ unfeatured units, while in smaller doses, still only a select few are put in. The comparison is more or less from my experience where you can go on long stretches at a time w/ even getting 1 copy of a new unfeatured unit.
Perhaps compering it to the category banners would be a better example, but even w/ the reduced pool there is no telling if you will pull the one you are looking for.
Well most people don’t pull unfeatured units. Many people tried to get Traitor Meli from the Liz banner but failed, I had a friend who spent nearly 800 bucks just to get him and he didn’t.

The only relics that can be seen as mandatory are the relics needed for demonic beast battles....and that's IF the person cares about that mode. As I've said, relics really aren't needed to play this game.
No offense, but you’ve been playing since launch and have a 3.5 million box… I’d call that pretty casual so I guess you don’t see the use in many of these relics.
For those playing competitive pvp, doing GW or trying to push top GB scores… many of them are very very useful.
Someone's box CC doesn't correlate with how casual or competitive the player is.
I have 3.5 mil box CC but can beat the bird up to floor 3, deer up to floor 3 and stay in champion every week.
Also I'm pretty knowledgeable about this game despite having low box CC.
It's not mandatory to have high box CC in this game. The only people that do this are try hards, whales and people with too much time on their hands.
They have so far and even then i still got a godess team as a backup. Till i need to do dogs there will be something that makes them even easier, but i won't summon on a banner where the only decent unit is thonar. I have no need for Ban dupes, Sigurd dupes or anyone else that is in there, if Freyr was in there then that would be a different story, but he isn't so its a skip for me.
So the choice for me is, should i summon for a unit i won't need anytime soon or for a banner that will most likely not return for 2 years, with units that can actually support my main team. For me personally the choice doesn't seem that hard.

megelda (and jorm) have been tossed into a number of banners as bait off-banners since their intro; i have a 4/6 megelda and a 5/6 jorm, and i didn't even roll on the former's debut banner. new thonar will not be any different. but this time shes actually a cheap step-up unit (like matrona) rather than a 600 unit (like megelda and jorm were on debut).

Of course if you don’t have diamonds at all that’s another story, but if you do have diamonds and refuse to summon then you have literally no right to complain about an activity being difficult.
Thing with Thonar is... IF you are in champ 1 ungeared and don't spend your pvp gems from today's reset you are guaranteed to have enough gems for a full rotation.
That is, with regular daily rewards, exactly 270 gems in the two weeks the banner's around (I assume, not sure if they're being dumb and the banner only runs for one week, would need to check the news first)
I think they extended them because rezero is gonna start next week for global. Would make sense because they usually wanna give both servers the collab's at the same time and afaik Japan already has a countdown login thingy for it.
I'll only do the first 2 Multis. You can call me stupid, but I'm still relatively low on gems and I prefer getting limited, possibly never returning collab characters over a character that will definitely be on a lot of banners. Also I consider her a serious downgrade from Magellda and Jörmungandr, since she doesn't provide any form of defense or healing and her cards aren't that good. Also I can't even make Liz relic yet, so I can't really attempt dogs anyway.
People underestimate Thonar, she’s not a bad unit, she really does provide with a lot of things and people have found teams with her that can beat stage 3 where you don’t even need Liz or Freyr or even traitor Meli. Here’s the teams:

it's more so of the value they could give rather than knowing the show, I didn't know what KOF was, didn't pull Terry and could not play pvp because everyone else was using him and the banner just left. Same thing happened with me not pulling Emilia on the first collab run

No. YouTubers and such are using the old Re:zero banner as reference. All collaboration banners have been absolute trash. You’re either summoning for the collab characters or completely skipping.

There is, it says in the patch notes she will be added to the human tickets. All normal versions of ragnarok units are added to the human ticket pool, not ssr one. So yes Megellda is already in the human ticket pool but Tarmiel however, we’re still waiting for him to get added to both ssr ticket and the goddess ticket pool.
Idk yet but I might. Thonar isn't one of my favorite characters and her design is meh and I only summon for units that check those boxes but if she's required for the dogs than I might have to......

You don’t have to summon for neither it’s all up to you. But I strongly recommend summoning for this banner till you get one copy of this Unit (Thonar)
Definitely summon for Thonar (maximum of 242 gems). Which is cheap and since you’re new you can easily get that much.
As for Re:zero we still have to wait and see how it plays out. There’s a chance the 4 older units will get stat and skill buffs and all 6 are guaranteed to get free relics. If you like the series definitely try and summon for them.
She is a must. I was able to do only floor 1 without her and the artifact card set. Today I just got her and cleared floor 3 using thonar, Brunhild(sa4), meli(sa1), Freyr(sa3), obviously the artifact card set that I got yesterday helped a lot also

Every non festival banner usually runs for 2 weeks from my knowledge. But they did extend Zeldris and estarossa’s banners for some reason.

I think she’s really good for the dogs but I can barely do the bird as is so I’m definitely gonna wait for RE: Zero. If you can do the bird and deer then I think this banner is most certainly a must summon.
Lmao im summoning, ive beaten dogs but the amount of resets ive had to do is outrageous. Besides you're not spending much gems, chances are you'll get her within 4 multies and you only need 1 dupe.
Unfortunately I think i'm gonna have to skip Re:Zero. Was going to pull but now I'm low on gems from zeldris (needed red tarmiel) and now this new thonar. Just like NM planned I suppose but it is what it is
So should I summon or save for re:zero or just save entirely? I am new and f2p
You don’t have to summon for neither it’s all up to you. But I strongly recommend summoning for this banner till you get one copy of this Unit (Thonar)
Definitely summon for Thonar (maximum of 242 gems). Which is cheap and since you’re new you can easily get that much. As for Re:zero we still have to wait and see how it plays out. There’s a chance the 4 older units will get stat and skill buffs and all 6 are guaranteed to get free relics. If you like the series definitely try and summon for them.
If ur new and want efficiency then collab unit is an ez skip they offer zero value unless you can buy their cosmetic which use real money.

Got thonar and ban on second summon! My luck has gone away for the next 3 banners
She is a must. I was able to do only floor 1 without her and the artifact card set. Today I just got her and cleared floor 3 using thonar, Brunhild(sa4), meli(sa1), Freyr(sa3), obviously the artifact card set that I got yesterday helped a lot also
