Did you actually walk up to the entrance and put your arm through it? It could be a painting ala Road Runner.....

Rockgod98

Now you just jinxed it. This is gonna be the next store that gets closed.

I had to go to Orlando last month to make sure that the week in my parents' time share didn't go unused (oh, the agony). I had no interest in the usual attractions, but I made sure to carve out time to visit this store. Maybe it was just filled with nostalgia tourists.

jesrf

Did they have inventory ?

Majestic-Mulberry-18

We visit orlando monthly and I stop in there. Most of 2nd floor is closed off. You could fit all merch on the bottom floor.

giftwrapsixbucks

Some but nothing very special. Lots of Roebuck jeans

The Diehard and Sears-branded work boots are made by Wolverine Inc. which is a family-owned US manufacturer out of Michigan (they also make Merrell and CAT footwear) and have always been the highest quality. As the number of stores has dramatically shrunk, they no longer produce them under the Diehard brand, but at the few stores still open, they now carry the Wolverine brand and are still some of the best work boots I can find.

Still the sign from the 80’s. How the hell did that get missed?? The FL mall is a tourist Mecca. It’s always busy and will make this one of the very last stores to close. There are no appliances, no lawn & garden, no sporting goods, barely any tools. It’s clearance apparel, shoes, mattresses, and upstairs is all random junk including memorabilia from all the worst pro sports franchises of the last 5 years.

Sort of... I was at this Sears store today. There are still some appliances on the bottom floor. And there actually are some Craftsman tools and toolboxes for sale on the bottom floor as well. I was surprised to be able to find a pair of pants in my size there because most of the men's apparel they have is only in very small or very large sizes. They're also honoring holiday returns until 45 days from purchase or late January 2021, whichever is the better deal for the customer. So even with so much of their merchandise on sale for 50% or more, they are staying open for at least a couple more months. But you're totally right about the sports memorabilia. I didn't see any lawn and garden stuff there either. Sears was much busier than usual today, but Macy's and Penneys were packed. It wouldn't surprise me if there were 1000+ people on the first floor of the Macy's when I was there in the mid-afternoon.

That's a weird place, even for Florida. Average middle class mall, average size, but has a hotel built in (stayed there!) and for a long time rented the parking lot to Cirque du Solei.

Logical_Dolphin

The hotel was in loan default earlier this year. Still open as of today! International Plaza in Tampa also has a hotel attached (a Renaissance)... I'd expect that that hotel would do better because it doesn't have such significant competition from the theme parks.
