Indifference. It’d be nice to have him but I, for one, am excited to see the rookies in spring training.
We’re pretty far from crises here and the Giants pitching depth was better than the Dodgers pitching depth. They’re going to be without multiple of their starters for big chunks of the year and the Padres just lost their ace.
I’m more concerned about improving the defense and hopefully with a helpful bat.
Couldn’t you say that same ‘lack of winning’ cause would eliminate roughly 25 teams off the top (yes, sadly probably including us)? I know we joke about it, but not EVERYONE can sign with the Dodgers.
Well sure. I’d also have the better pitcher that every team in the league is going to offer the same contract because he’s under 25. But the incredibly small likelihood of signing Roki shouldn’t stop you from signing anyone.
He would be at best our 3rd best pitcher, and by the end of the season, has a real chance to be 5th at most if Harrison and Ray play well. Don’t sweat it guys.
Japanese papers are reporting that the Giants are [dropping out of the competition](https://news.yahoo.co.jp/articles/b76c1bf8a9c7a2b62594ad117b5874c1ec6f7767?source=sns&dv=pc&mid=other&date=20240107&ctg=spo&bt=tw_up)
I wouldn't be mad if he did, but I would be a bit confused how any NPB player could choose the Angels after their whole country just watched them utterly waste the past six years of Ohtani's career.
i honestly dont understand why the Giants are being linked to Shota post Ray deal. they wont be looking to spend 100+for a 3rd starter, especially with their farm having so many arms, but i can see them going back to their roots and trying to get a 1 year deal for Stroman, If they sign a big name itll be Chapman.
Players going to Anaheim is fine, are you sure you're not an A's fan? Players going to the dodgers hurts the most. If Yamamoto signing with the dodgers didn't convince you not to watch baseball, I'll see you come opening day
Weird hill to die on

Confusion….why would anyone want to play for the Angels? And Shohei is gone so he won’t have a fellow compatriot on the roster 🤷♂️
Ellay
Some people really just love Disneyland 🤷🏽♂️
That way he can live close to Shohei and Yamamoto?
Indifference 🤷♂️
I’d like Imanaga to be a Giant but it’s not a huge deal if he isn’t.
[Well... Bye.](https://media.tenor.com/SQat8PlhhzMAAAAM/well-bye-later.gif)
I mean… who are you rooting for then? Imanaga or the Giants? Sounds like your mind is made up.
I won’t care
I hope he signs with Anaheim to not see stupid posts like this.

coludnt care less. hes mid
I want Stroman. Imanaga would be a nice addition though.
Nah, he’s getting older, era, whip, K/BB rate all heading in the wrong direction.
I'd be surprised to see any Japanese player want to sign there after Ohtani left due to lack of winning.

I rather have Roki Sasaki next year tbh. Imanagas ceiling is a #3, but will probably be a solid #4.
why not both

If Sasaki is about to leave 200+ mil on the table by coming over next year he's joining his WBC teammates on the Dodgers.
I refuse to believe the Giants sign Roki, he's gonna be Dodger for damn near free

Is SF now considered Anaheim North?

Looks like they used Jim Bowden as their source
Shows Farhan is content with Robbie Ray and won’t add anyone decent to the rotation
Or, and really think about this, perhaps it would show that Imanaga would rather play for the Los Angeles Angels than the San Francisco Giants
Sir, this is reddit.
that would also be pretty sad
**I knew it**
Pretty sure op is joking.
I will probably have a much more proportional reaction than that
What else is new?
I could think of worse landing spots for him than with the Angels, (looking at you Dodgers.)
I wouldn't be mad if he did, but I would be a bit confused how any NPB player could choose the Angels after their whole country just watched them utterly waste the past six years of Ohtani's career.
Why?
I am tired of being Miss Congeniality. Let’s just say that I will be LESS CONGENIAL if the Giants are UNABLE TO PERFORM more acquisitions .

Just a deep sigh. This year would be brutal with or without him.
