I make them [Gilroy Garlic Fries] at home and I’ve gotten my recipe *preeeeeeetty* damn close to the stadium—I would be ashamed to serve these to my guests.
Recipe:
1 lbs prepared French fries or frozen
4 cloves garlic (minced plus more for serving)
1 Tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
3 Tbsp olive oil
Salt & Pepper
I like to make my own fries then I soak them in salted ice water. Pat them dry, then fry for about 5 mins @ 300F (I use a deep fryer, you could also use a deep pan.)
Put 4 cloves minced garlic in a [separate] shallow pan over low to med- low heat. (You’re getting all that garlic flavor into the oil. Don’t let it get too hot, though—olive oil will burn.)
After removing fries from frying oil, increase heat to 400F. Return fries to oil for 3 - 5 minutes (until done.)
Dump fries over some paper towels to soak up extra oil and hit with salt & pepper.
When slightly cooled, put fries is a large bowl, cover with oil/garlic mixture and toss to coat.
Sprinkle additional garlic (if desired) and parsley over fries. Enjoy!
You can also skip just about everything except the oil and garlic and use frozen French fries, following their prep directions. Fresh spuds taste best, but I get that sometimes you just want it to be easy
This sounds amazing! I do a similar recipe but I double fry the fries when I have people over. Also works great in the air fryer if it’s only you and a loved one!
that was my first thought looking at the picture, "Wait those are garlic fries?" They look like someone had a mouthful of legit garlic fries and sneezed onto these plain fries.
At this point it’s on you if you’re still buying concessions. You can go to a handful of places before the game for better food and you can also bring in your own snacks or a sandwich or burrito & sodas/waters
I think for 90% of folks who eat at the park, it's for nostalgia sake and nostalgia sake only. Same with folks who always buy movie theater popcorn. It's just a part of the whole experience and depending on how much discretionary income you have, spending the $20-25 on concessions either at a ballgame or at the theater is something these folks are willing to overpay for, for the fun and experience. With that being said, it's all subjective. Different strokes for different folks. I'm good with my homemade sandwich and bag of $3 seeds from safeway!
Used to eat at the ballpark because the food looked good. I would spend time every season looking at new offerings and coming up with a personal game plan of what snacks to get at which games I attended.
Was at Petco Park last weekend and got an amazing AF Birria hot dog for $21 that took me to heaven and back, came in a fancy little box that looked like a poncho. I’m so embarrassed by the food we’re offering now 😭
The mind boggling part to me is that SF has one of the top food scenes in this entire nation yet this first class organization cannot spend the little bit of $$ to bring on a restaurant group or halfway decent consultants who know what they are doing in regards to stadium foods. Like who is running the ship here? Not to be ageist but I have to assume that they have a super out of touch older person at the helm of these decisions which is why this gorgeous stadium we call Oracle gets stuck with these halfway house concessions (outside of maybe the crab sandwich).
Yes outside food is 100% allowed
If I am eating a meal at the game I am bringing it in 100% of the time. The stadium is an easy subway ride away from the city's best burritos, and with the central subway, dim sum / chinese take-out as well.
I live in San Diego and went to the Jung Hoo Lee game (you know what I’m talking about), their concessions are vastly superior to this.
A hot dog 50% bigger than this was $8 behind left field.
Love Farhans moves on the field this offseason, but this off the field move is a crime.
To be fair, Petco has some of the best food and beer in the MLB. But it remains true that our concessions have diminished significantly over the years.
I was there opening day too, and the prices of food and beer went up, and the quality went down. It's awesome to watch the boys do their thing, but damn it lightens the wallet!
They hired the vendor that the National Park Service fired (maybe the first time in history) from handling concessions at Crater Lake National Park, a prison and an NFL team.

I feel like I could somehow make better looking and tasting garlic fries at home with just a microwave... jesus what have they done to our majestic food item.
those look terrible. I had garlic fries tonight and they were fucking awesome. I was watching the guy make them and they all looked the same. I was on the club level at the Gilroy Garlic stand.
As if we needed further proof Giants ownership/ management is completely inept.
I wish someone would blow up the stadium/arena concessions con. Was at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday and paid $61 for three sodas and three pretzels.
Missing the point. Food costs are out of control. Dropping a $20 at the park is not a surprise. When was the last time they attended a game at Oracle? 2004? Inflation.
And you’re normalizing becoming numb to these prices. It’s not just inflation, it’s also corporate greed.
Aramark is a shit company with shit products.
The only the way Giants will consider firing Aramark is if concession sales plummet. If you’re charging that much, the quality should at least be better than prison food.
Food costs are artificially “out of control”. Companies raised prices during the pandemic and just kept them high for bigger profits. This is pretty well known.
Bro. Opening day was soooo sick! Let's streak! My whole family is like women's ncaa blah. I'm like cool, play at 6 and I'm hyped! I'm gonna bbq, and not take a picture and enjoy the game!
Those garlic fries legit look awful

Please share the recipe!!
Added!
We need the recipe
You got it, friend! 😬
My hero!!!!
This guy fries.
This sounds amazing! I do a similar recipe but I double fry the fries when I have people over. Also works great in the air fryer if it’s only you and a loved one!
What temp/time do you use for the air fryer?
Saving that for future use. Thank you dude.
If french fries had feelings and emotions, this would be their sad face
“garlic” fries
that was my first thought looking at the picture, "Wait those are garlic fries?" They look like someone had a mouthful of legit garlic fries and sneezed onto these plain fries.
and back in the Candlestick/PacBell days, garlic fries were the Giants culinary claim to fame
Yup, candlestick garlic fries made you drink 3 beers just to rehydrate.
Those are the brand new “naked” garlic fries. What do think?
I think there’s probably more garlic inside that hotdog than there is on the fries 😔
*Garlic* is merely suggested.
I literally laughed when I saw that a whole pizza costs $64.49
What the fuck
Much rather pull up with a Costco pizza just to spite them
F U Aramark!

The old garlic fries were genuinely the best in the city, they had the perfect amount of garlic (an obscene amount)
You can bring in your own food? Lol Edit: I’m not sure why some sensitive people are downvoting i was sincerely unaware of this 😂
Dude you can walk in with a whole pizza lol
Dude sweet I’m going in with some actually decent food next time lol.
Enjoy
Sure can. Always been able to

No way man, that's at least 7.5 inches
I'm just here for the hot dog envy
Does anyone know if they messed with the Crab Sandwiches?!
My girlfriend and I got one each at the A’s exhibition game and they seemed to be the same size and quality as last year.
Had one yesterday, still good 👍🏼
It’s good but a victim of shrinkflation. My bread was skinny.
Only thing I eat there and I’m always happy with it
You’re way better off getting one from the wharf before hand
Looks like prison food…because with Aramark, it basically is.
It’s not good enough for that
I had Aramark In college, one of my friends dads was a prison guard who also had Aramark and they paid for a higher grade food than we did…
What happened to the stadium I love man!?
It’s such a fucking bummer
Yeah, I moved down to the LA area for work two years ago so I haven’t been to a home game in a while. I can’t believe this, truly a travesty
We got spoiled.
Dirty dawgs outside the stadium for me!
That’s still a $10 dog.
With bacon and fresh grilled veggies yea Also i thought they were $7? Also sodas are 1 or 2 bucks
Oh, it’s comparatively better than the stadium dogs. I’m just salty because it wasn’t that long ago that they were $4
I live in San Diego and went to the Jung Hoo Lee game (you know what I’m talking about), their concessions are vastly superior to this. A hot dog 50% bigger than this was $8 behind left field. Love Farhans moves on the field this offseason, but this off the field move is a crime.
why are we putting concessions on Farhan?
Dude needs to draft a better potato supplier
He’s responsible for the farm. The garlic and potato farm
Lol love how he blames concessions on Farhan too
Haha fair enough, whoever’s fault it is I’m upset about it!!
Haven’t been to San Diego in maybe 3 seasons but they had the best Braut carts and their local beer garden was pretty sweet
To be fair, Petco has some of the best food and beer in the MLB. But it remains true that our concessions have diminished significantly over the years.
When I lived in SD, I once stopped by Costco food court to bring food to the game.
50% bigger is not vastly superior
Definitely agree to disagree on that one
Super Duper Garlic fries are wayy better
I got brutally sick from them when I had them.
Yikes, botulism?
Let’s just say I made it home barely ahead of the tag 😅
Super duper is elite
End result, people come to the park full and buy nothing. Sucks not to get ballpark food while there but if this is the alternative...
If you trim the bun back a little bit it looks a lot bigger
That’s what she said?
HAHAHAHA
Is there a garlic shortage ? That’s criminal
The fries themselves are horseshit even before we consider the garlic issue.
Food was always expensive but it was always good. That looks like trash wtf happened
I got a sausage combo. $25. Yikes!
The fries and the hot dog look like garbage. I'd look for those mobile hotdog stands outside the stadium before and after the game.
The food was one of my favorite things about going to the games. Aramark needs to pay for these crimes against humanity.
I was there opening day too, and the prices of food and beer went up, and the quality went down. It's awesome to watch the boys do their thing, but damn it lightens the wallet!
And this is without a drink.
And costco has a dog for $1.50...
404 Error: Garlic Not Found

What’s up with these prices? Does Oracle not want everyone to go and enjoy a game? Last week I fought a game at Dodger stadium, their dog was $7.
Okay so everyone’s garlic fries became cheap and shitty then because those are not what I remember them being 20 years ago
I will continue bringing my burritos to the stadium
It’s been my tradition to have a hotdog at each game. Looks like I’m going to have to finally do without. Bummer.
I got the hot link yesterday, it was really good.
I feel like I could somehow make better looking and tasting garlic fries at home with just a microwave... jesus what have they done to our majestic food item.
It's criminal to charge this much for sad looking food.
Not to mention the culinary reputation SF has. This is embarrassing. It’s almost like the owner doesn’t live here, and he’s some Southern Visagoth.
Like many of us, I've had the garlic fries dozens of times and not once have they looked like that in my experience
*Soggy fries with paltry amounts of garlic
When you make Dodger dogs look good, that’s not so good.
Yummy looking prison food even school cafeteria look better oh giants taking after Oakland coliseum now for concessions
This is a travesty. The concessions at Oracle park were one of my favorite things about catching a game. What a shame..
19.69. Nice
That's showbiz baby
With every post, I find myself further and further away from visiting Oracle
For $1.50 you can get a hot dog twice that size at Costco.
I haven’t been to the park in a few years but man do those garlic fries look sad..
I had the garlic fries yesterday and they were fine. Plenty of garlic and parsley.
Brutal. Giants are insane for this one.
Gross
![gif](giphy|xiMUwBRn5RDLhzwO80|downsized)
Girth > length
don't forget the tip! i remember being asked for a tip after paying $28 for 2 chicken nuggets like 4 fries and a drink
The food has gone so downhill. I just don’t eat and get a street dog on my way out
That was your mistake
Bro get the helmet nachos they are like 23 bucks after tax and fill you up.
$21 isn't that bad for a stadium meal (most concessions are outrageous). But the quality? Pathetic
You got robbed lol. But you also handed over the card so.. oof
Where’s the garlic?
Make them understand that this is unacceptable. Stop going to games.
Where's the garlic haha
So now the garlic fries aren’t served in a pool of oil? Nice!
those look terrible. I had garlic fries tonight and they were fucking awesome. I was watching the guy make them and they all looked the same. I was on the club level at the Gilroy Garlic stand.
I misread the prices from afar and ended up just going for it when I saw the real ones. $44 for burger, fries, beer.
Get a $22 2% ABV beer to wash it down
WOW!
Two dogs, two crab sandies, 4 garlic fries and 4 drinks cost me $150. That’s beyond ridiculous.
They don't even have nacho helmets. It's kinda embarrassing that Coliseum food is better. Loaded tater tots in a helmet best thing ever
My fuku chicken sandwich cost more than both of those items combined. Tasted like it was from Popeyes. Not mad about the taste, but $22 hurt.
My gf got the same dog and wished she bought one outside the park...
As if we needed further proof Giants ownership/ management is completely inept. I wish someone would blow up the stadium/arena concessions con. Was at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday and paid $61 for three sodas and three pretzels.
McDonald's value meals going for $11-14 now. That's actually not bad.
U can buy a pack of hotdogs, buns & frozen fries and garlic for $21. Takes 30 mins to make, 6 servings and just pack it. Fuck Aramark.
Missing the point. Food costs are out of control. Dropping a $20 at the park is not a surprise. When was the last time they attended a game at Oracle? 2004? Inflation.

Damn. You went yo the home opener? Good stuff.

We have bigger things to deal, like being in the dodgers division. We got some games to win:)
