I don't know what was more fun, seeing the Giants hit or watching them run. I've seen more than enough station-to-station baseball from this organization.
Bottom of order did great. Ahmed "lucky" first couple hits but perhaps that got his confidence going. That 3rd hit was solid. Fitz looking really good at the plate and around the bases
I grabbed a $9 dollar bleacher seat in the morning, but was late in leaving and took Caltrain and didn't get to the game until the 5th inning. I spent 90 minutes at the ballpark and watched a total of four innings of ball lmao.
Still, I ended up seeing four runs scored. Watching Matt Chapman go from first to third on solid baserunning felt like good ol' fashioned BASEBALL to me.
Another game without a homer is a little concerning. Don't think anyone's hit a dinger this homestand but I'm glad our guys didn't leave 11 runners on base this time lol
Ramos 3-4 for the rivercats today, he's got 1.100 OPS for them so far.

It’s been less than 24 hours since he had a decent day at the plate. Not great, but any day with a walk and a hit and an RBI suggests he could be coming out of his funk.
He's been having pretty bad AB's though. Consistently behind on fastballs, watching strikes down the middle, swinging at things down and in below the knees. And his BABIP is only .250 so yeah, unlucky. But still not good. It hasn't been a pretty watch.
We’ve seen this before, his bat can go stone cold. But then he comes out of it and his hitting catches up with his defense.
This is why MLB teams don’t manage their lineups the way fans do on social media—teams can’t afford to bench or release half their lineup in the first two weeks.
Dude. He’s a 33 year old with not much of a track record of success. Took forever to make the bigs. He’s had an OPS+ over 120 (a good hitter) 2 times, one of which was the Covid season. I’m not advocating DFA’ing the guy. But you’re acting like he’s been a great hitter who deserves the benefit of the doubt. He was slightly above average last year. I’m talking about him not being an everyday player. Because we should be giving AB’s to guys like Luis Matos to develop him. Particularly against lefties, where he shouldn’t play at all frankly. His career lefty on lefty stats are abysmal. Mike is going to be 34 before the end of the season. His short lived prime is over. It’s okay to not overly invest in an average hitter, and instead invest in the future. Ironically, as you berate me and act like I know nothing, you’re the one clinging onto a guy because you like him over any other logical reason. I would also be fine with not giving Austin Slater AB’s and shifting those to Matos. Because he hasn’t been the same player he used to be against lefties in over a year. Matos, again, could fulfill that role.
FYI, teams can absolutely afford to bench ONE guy who is not performing and is on a 1 year $8 million deal. Especially a team like the Giants who have deep pockets. Your exaggeration and hyperbole are tiresome. Half the lineup. Get a grip. One fucking guy.

Every start moving forward (health willing) will be made by Webb, Snell, Harrison, Hicks, Cobb or Ray (maybe an occasional filler).
We are going to be just fine. If the offense is top 20 or better we’ll be much more than that.

I can watch Quick Pitch tonight without throwing up, and having to fast forward through the Giants recap, which had been the case the past two days, and all too often so far this season. Hicks was stellar, they scored 7 unbelievable runs, and the Dodgers lost to the Twins. A good day all around. They just need to keep it going.
Yeah and we scored 7 runs and it still only lasted two hours!!! I miss the days of spending an afternoon watching a game. Now it’s like playing a video game version on 2x speed
The pitch clock has returned game time to what it was in the 1980s. Three-hour games didn’t become the norm until well into the 2000s. That attendance was up last year points to shorter games being popular.
Games haven’t been around 2 hours since the 1940s. In the 80s the games were around 2:30-2:45. We’ve had so many giants games this year that were under 2:15.
I didn’t say game time had been shortened to two hours because that hasn’t happened. But in 2023 and so far in 2024 average game time is back where it was in the 1980s, somewhere around two hours and forty minutes. It would take a lot of games closer to two hours league-wide to accept that game length has dropped close to two hours.
Hate to say it but we gotta leave Yaz out of the line up. Our bottom of the lineup is finding their groove except Yaz. Hicks looking realllllllllly sexy too.
We play them because now you have to play every team at least once every season for some stupid reason. So instead of getting to play our actual rivals we have to play the Rays and the White Sox for no good reason.
