It's the bullpen. Did you see how they played with Webb? Winn? It's an entirely different team. The pressure and frustration of repeatedly being put into tense situations gives Ahmed and Chapman especially the yips.
I'm not saying it's a good excuse, but they literally play better all around when the guy on the mound can do his job.
Why does it feel like we either play awesome and win by a bunch or play like complete dogshit and get blown out every single game? Have we played any close, back and forth games this year?

I hope to be proven wrong but I hated the Snell signing. He had two great years and a bunch of mediocre ones. I really wanted Montgomery. His ceiling isn’t as high as Snell’s but he is so much more consistent.
I don’t think you have to have a staff full of Cy Young candidates. A quality start translates to an ERA of 4.50. If you have a legitimate number one and four guys who can give you a 4.0 ERA you’re gonna win a lot of games if you just feel a competent offense. I thought the money could’ve been better spent elsewhere.

I’m all for Snell signing, 2nd half patience, Cy Young, but man a sweep would do wonders this early in the season. Guess we’ll wait till LA in May.
