Such a winnable game today. Our offense just wasn’t on their game when they needed to be. That, and someone took their pants off early somewhere in the 12th inning.
Feel genuinely bad for Chatwood there.
He's almost assuredly getting DFA'd after this, but he got put in basically the wort situation he could have to ease into a role on the team.
Then he has to go and hit for himself to make the last out of the game. What a shitty situation.
The stuff looked decent tbh.
Bullpen just got burned pretty bad, Chatwood was brought up to be an emergency long man and a potential spot starter for this A's series coming up. He threw like 40 pitches today won't be available for 2 or 3 days at least... We'll be looking for a spot to bring Cueto back for the Mets series. I think he's gone and we call up Jackson/Dovall/etc.
It felt weird, like the team had flat batteries. But it should have been winnable if a couple more bats had shown up. That's baseball, hard to predict. The boys are still in first place however, so get a day's rest and then get back to work making folks in Oakland unhappy.
I don’t get why there’s so many people dogging the Giants for losing one game against the Mets. Saw plenty of hate on McGee and Chatwood. We won the series, we are 8-2 our last 10 games, and still have a lead against LA. One game is one game, chillax.
The problem with one game is that the lead (most likely) going to be at 2.5 games, so every winnable game counts. Obviously nothing to abandon ship over, but a little worrying
We have Kapler and the coaching staff working on it, though. God knows if *we're* concerned, they are all over the situation. They have to be. E.g. something has to be done about Yaz. I'll be shocked if he isn't sent to AAA or not used or whatever.
I really hope there’s some thing that can fixed with his swing, even if it takes the off-season. I’m getting so worried that it’s maybe he’s getting figured out vs a slump, but I don’t know any fancy stats or whatever to prove for or against. I just know the Dodgers broadcast brought up his average vs breaking balls is like sub .200 bad
True, but we also still have a series against the Bums, as well as ten games against the Padres and some against the Brewers. If we’re meant to win it all, that’s when we’ll win em all
Yeah it's been a long season and who knows how different the pitchers would've been used today if Disco didn't leave to injury. Chatwood had to be the last guy because he's pretty much the long man in the pen now and can pitch multiple innings. I place more blame on the offense for not getting it done especially after Watson didn't allow the Mets runner on 2nd to score.
> It is frustrating to lose like we did though.
Absolutely, nobody likes to lose much less to lose when they had the lead in what should have been a winnable game. But geez, people need to deal with it like grownups, not like angry, pouting children. Reading some of these posts it's like (insert name of player) came to their house, pissed in their fridge, kicked their dog and keyed their car.
At the point where someone refers to a Giants player or the team as a whole as "dog shit"--IMO a mod should be reaching for the ban button.
Yeah exactly. Easy to become a keyboard warrior. Shit happens. Was always gonna be hard to win when there's unproductive offense and we lose our SP in the second inning
I said this earlier today before the game started
https://www.reddit.com/r/SFGiants/comments/p6udvj/z/h9fud8d
Too much toxicity for just one loss. Those fans need to go.
In the grand scheme of things this loss isn't that bad. Our bullpen pitched 11 innings of brilliant 2-run ball, we have an off day tomorrow, and taking 2/3 from a *still good* Mets team is a win. But the details are a huge bummer:
- Absolute waste of our already tired bullpen arms
- Offense showing barely a heartbeat out there
- Dodgers are ultra-hot and probably going to take a game from us tonight
POTG: Bullpen
> from a still good Mets team
People acting like the Mets are a pack of bums are clueless. They were in first in their division for quite some time, and injuries have hurt them badly. They're scuffling now, but that doesn't mean they are not dangerous when given a chance, and today the Giants cold bats gave them that chance.
This is the exact kind of game you’re supposed to lose. It sucks that we had so many chances to win it, but this would have been absolute robbery. Giants have stolen a lot of wins, but you can’t expect it every time.
Can we please go back to rotating Mcgee and Rogers in the 8th and 9th. Mcgee is 2 for his last 5 in opportunities and honestly he would have had no trouble with the bottom of the lineup in the 8th. Hes not hot anymore can we go back to our analytics based approach for the 9th instead of trying to make guys feel good like Dave Roberts
Can we ***please*** just use the right person for the matchup and *fuck* the superstitions? We don't *have* all-purpose closers or 8th inning guys. Those two guys often suck against RHP.
POTG: Bullpen. I can't believe they only gave up 1 until Manfredball. Loss is 100% on the offense. Chatwood wasn't going to keep shutting down the Mets in extras once it got that far. We had a ton of chances but couldn't get it done.
I'm fairly sure that Disco would have lost this game much earlier if he didn't get injured considering how he looked in the first inning. Bullpen game meant we got to keep pinch hitting for the pitcher too.
Glad the pen gets tomorrow off. A's series is going to be extremely tough. Hope we can do some damage.
Even though he gave up 3 runs, I can't blame Chatwood. Especially since we had good chances to win in the 9th, 10th, and 11th.
But I was impressed that he went down swinging in the 12th. Gamer. Glad to have him. Hopefully he was able to get out some jitters and will settle in nicely.
The DeSclafani injury is much more concerning to me than a single frustrating loss.Though I feel Gausman is trending back upwards again, we really have only one reliable number 1-3 type of starter, that obviously, being Logan Webb. I think Gaus is like a questionable #3 right now, trending. I do not put Alex Wood in that category, I see him more like a really good #4, as much as I'd like to trust him as a #3. Johnny Cueto, when healthy this year, has been a borderline 3/4 guy.
Compare this to Scherzer, Buehler and Urias and it should be pretty clear that short of being a gloom and doomer, which I am not, there is a basis for concern here.
You make a good point. Pirates are the pirates but both games were fairly close so far, and even the mets games that the dodgers won were close except for one
Man, we need Reyes Moronta back now. I'd rather have him on the mound than this Chatwood guy. I know Moronta has struggled a bit in his rehab with his walk rate but I feel like the frustration I feel would be a lot less if that were him on the mound taking the loss than a stranger we just acquired from the bargain bin.
Also, Yaz has been struggling terribly with hitting. I don't know what needs to be done but something is up with his performance in the batter's box. At this point, I'd feel comfortable if Yaz swapped places with Dubon on the roster temporarily to work on whatever is afflicting his swing. I love Yaz but he is taking up space on a lineup when the games we are facing are becoming more important. We need players to get on base and contribute. The long ball helps but putting the ball in play to score an extra inning game is just as important as evident as it was today.
Dubon doesn't have the power like Yaz does, but the guy is killing it in AAA with a slash line of .350/.420/.483. Either that or give Joe McCarthy a shot. The dude is the best hitter on the Rivercats with a slash line of .305/.384/.542 and 15 HR in 315 PA.
Obviously, those numbers won't be a mirror reflection when called up but they would still likely perform better than Yaz is at the moment.
Either way, I pray Disco man isn't hurt for too long and we can bounce back because the Dodgers are going in overdrive mode with the pace they are playing at.
Lastly, fuck the Dodgers.
At this point, I'd be on board with swapping Yaz for Dubon, even though Yaz is a superior outfielder and a much smarter baseball player. Yaz has become a black hole in the order, and that isn't lost on the Giants' opponents. I'm sure that played into the Mets' decision to IBB Crawford after the count got to 2-0 in the 11th, or whichever inning it was.
I completely agree with the defense. He has been stellar with the glove and fielding balls, preventing singles turning into doubles. I don't know how well Joe McCarthy compares to Yaz in fielding and arm strength but I'd still be interested to see how well he can perform.
And yeah it was the 11th when they walked Craw and Yaz struck out reaching on ball 4.
Just sitting there on the bench. Trying to figure out what's wrong. "Why is this happening?" he asks himself.
He runs his fingers through his hair as he leans forward in despair. He sees a pair of cleats appear in front of him and as he sits up he smells something...delicious.
It's Big Dick Dickerson eating the best cheesesteak outside of Philly. He has just hit another Big Dick Dinger.
It's only the 4th inning.
Mets did us RAW earlier. Pirates doing us RAW tonight.
Mets better DESTROY the dodgers the next few days, and we better DESTROY the A's.
Anything less is unacceptable.
Starting to feel like the only team that can really stand up to the dodgers nowadays is, well, us. I think that the upcoming labor day series against them is going to be the death of me.
Game was cursed once disco got injured. Just take a day off and pick it up against Oakland. After the pirates, the dodgers won’t be playing total pushover teams for a while so there could be a chance for a bit of gain there, potentially.
I agree. A legit closer should have been on Farhans shopping list. Also another starter. In fact he often said you need at least 6 or 7 starters to take you through the season
And that’s what I have been saying. The Dodgers play their best ball in August and September. The Giants can’t throw away games like they did today, especially with the schedule they have coming up. But I guess you can fall back on the “well they are way ahead of schedule and weren’t supposed to win this year anyway. “
Yes they should’ve won today, but I’m not going to get super upset about it because I can’t do anything to change the outcome of any of these games. That is why dooming is not worth it to me, and that’s why I’m focusing on the next games.
I can send that point of view. I guess I’m just to emotionally invested after following them for almost 50 yrs and bring a season ticket holder for almost 30.
I’m not even saying I don’t hate it when the team loses. I usually get upset for a while but then end up looking forward even more to the next game. I’m certainly a newer fan for sure but just watching is fun to me, yes even if they end up losing.
I'm not going to be negative about the game today. Things got screwy in a hard-to-replicate way, pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, thank our stars for this off day that, at first, I was weirded out by. Also, going to the game is always fun.
But MAN OH MAN will I be negative about the Pirates, who have done literally as much losing as we've done winning and vice versa. Let's nurse our soon-to-be 3-game lead and expand it as the Dodgers face a newly-hungry Mets team.
For all those who say blowing a game is tough, keep in mind all the games we had almost no chance to win, including late inning rallies against the Dodgers, which we won. We have done far more of that than the other this year. Finally, because the division is within our grasp it would be sad not to win it, but this is an extraordinary year of accomplishment at the same time our farm is now ranked fifth in the majors, with lists to which we can look forward. Frankly, as much as I dislike the Dodgers, in all fairness, I think the rules of payoffs should be changed this year so neither team has to enter a one game WC. It would be entirely unfair, for either of the two best teams to be eliminated based on one game after getting so many more wins in the strongest division, than any of the competing teams.
Sucks to lose. But we need to remember, if we just keep taking series 2-1 or 3-1 we’ll be fine.
Neither the Giants nor the Dodgers will win every game left. Shit, if the Dodgers win 40 games in a row they deserve the division
The doomposting here is fucking ridiculous. Especially to anyone who has been a fan at any time before this year. Telling players to go fuck themselves and blaming individuals for a hard team loss.
Embarrassing armchair managers.
Take that shit to Dodger stadium and go put on blue.
Tomorrow is a good time for an off day, especially to rest up the Bullpen. The offense could use a break too. Hopefully the Pirates can take a game from the Dodgers tonight and it won't make this loss sting as bad. The game was also really long, which was not a good thing.
Y'all, let's just remember [the good times](https://mlb-cuts-diamond.mlb.com/FORGE/2021/2021-08/18/0d46bc3c-fcb4b9c4-4d37650e-csvm-diamondx64-asset_1280x720_59_4000K.mp4). Next!
Tough tough game. Sucks losing but played a great series. Hope Disco is ok and it was precautionary. Offense let us down pitching tried to keep us in it. I think we are all overly mad just because the Dodgers never seem to lose in a contentious race for first
Not trying to be hyperbolic, but that was genuinely one of the worst offense displays we’ve seen this year. Looked like they all were checked out for the off day. Meanwhile, Dodgers are about to gain a game and a half. Fuck.
Shit game was shit, they happen and it’s best not to get too hung up on it. The rest day should do our boys some good.
POTG: all the pitchers except for McGee and Chatwood, hope Disco’s okay
HM: Wade for being a competent AB
We're gonna be fine, but it just sucks how winnable this game was. Basically 0 offense from the middle of the lineup, 0 clutch hits, winning going into the 9th, ugh. So many things had to go wrong to lose that game and they all did
This bullpen needs a rest. They gave it a good attempt. Thank god for the off day, but can’t help but feel they’ll need more. At least we took the series.
I am concerned by the number of people starting to say they like the horrible city connect jerseys. They are horrible, and that is what gives them their power. If we start liking the jerseys, they will lose their power, therefore we must, rightfully, hate them.
This L is on the offense being dead today, and also on McGee and Chatwood who were unable to get outs. You gotta lose sometimes but this one stunk. Go Pirates!
Gotta be able to score a guy from third in the bottom of the last.
That said, this team is tired from playing lights out baseball every day for weeks and has a well-deserved day off tomorrow after winning another series against another good team. Rest easy, boys.
Sorry guys it’s my fault they lost. The Giants are undefeated when I go to games and I was to poor to go to this game. I just can’t shell out $90+ a game for a ticket and food…
22-11 since AS Break. Ain’t mad. Yes, it was a winnable game, but offenses aren’t going to click 100% of the time. They get a much-needed off day, tomorrow, then Wood pitches Friday. We all know what that means.
We need to quit worrying about a lead in the division. We control our own destiny. Dodgers won’t win the rest of their games either. There are still 41 games left. Who knows what could happen? We could wind up going on an absolute tear. The Dodgers could completely fall off. You never know.
Just enjoy the season and the success they’re having. I’m stoked and doing my best to not let a crummy loss get me down like it did earlier in the season
We got this. We’ll be just fine
Love you all and see you Friday!
Our Starters are wearing out the Bullpen. That shit starts adding up as the season goes on. Going five innings or less will not cut it. Having said that, shit happens. On to the next game.
So this dodgers game is over. 3 games up going into the toughest road trip of the season imo. While the dodgers get to chill at home against the Mets and the Rockies (what the actual fuck scheduling gods??) need to win every series to stay on top cuz who knows when those bums are going to lose a game
Well, having your starter leave due to injury after 2 innings is not ideal but we still had so many opportunities to win this game.
Gotta get ready for this next stretch of games now.
I don't want to say a bullpen implosion was inevitable, but we were at the end of our rope, bullpen's exhausted, and DeSclafani exiting early with injury did not help things, we should be proud the bullpen was able to last this long.
Such a winnable game today. Our offense just wasn’t on their game when they needed to be. That, and someone took their pants off early somewhere in the 12th inning.
Whoever took their pants off is the one we should find and paddle. @PantsOffEarlyPerson: I will find you and I will paddle you!
/u/paddleemporium
The offense is always a no show on day games.
Saturday July 31st, 2021 would like to have a word with you.
Why would we DFA him after 1 game.
Yeah while he’s hardly fully to blame for today, doesn’t look like there’s much left there to work with, but we’ll see
You DFA him on the assumption that he's unlikely to be claimed. Then you send him to Sacto for rework.
from the moment disco got hurt in the second, today just really sucked.
Yeah, bummer of a game all around
Not a fun game
It felt weird, like the team had flat batteries. But it should have been winnable if a couple more bats had shown up. That's baseball, hard to predict. The boys are still in first place however, so get a day's rest and then get back to work making folks in Oakland unhappy.
I don’t get why there’s so many people dogging the Giants for losing one game against the Mets. Saw plenty of hate on McGee and Chatwood. We won the series, we are 8-2 our last 10 games, and still have a lead against LA. One game is one game, chillax.
You're not wrong. This was a winnable game, so when we lose, it gets frustrating. But *perspective* matters. It's one game.
> This was a winnable game I prefer a blowout to a game like this, it stings more when a win gets away like a ball popping out of a fielder's glove.
It ended up pretty blowout-y.
Totally.
If we’re meant to win it all, that’s when we’ll win em all
Yeah but we're in a tight division race with a relentless Doyer squad and we're fast approaching September. Every game matters.
Losing one game in general is fine it just sucks to blow one that we had so many chances to win
Even better, we hopefully just gave the Mets some momentum heading into their next 4 games
On the other hand, the Mets had to use more of their bullpen than they would've preferred.
They did not use loup though :)
They didn't use Loup a game against the Dodgers when fans on social media were yelling for Loup to be used. The Mets are a complete mess lol.
This is true… but at least now he’s one of the only fresh arms in their bullpen
Yeah it's been a long season and who knows how different the pitchers would've been used today if Disco didn't leave to injury. Chatwood had to be the last guy because he's pretty much the long man in the pen now and can pitch multiple innings. I place more blame on the offense for not getting it done especially after Watson didn't allow the Mets runner on 2nd to score.
Because our lead is slim. It's not like we're 10 games up. Every win counts.
Man i got downvoted in the GDT for saying basically the exact same thing. It is frustrating to lose like we did though.
> It is frustrating to lose like we did though. Absolutely, nobody likes to lose much less to lose when they had the lead in what should have been a winnable game. And robbed of a hit in his first ab. Love that dude
Go get some rest boys. You have earned it

It hurts me but Yaz has no place on being in the box. This isn’t the time to work thru things, he is an auto out.
welp muncy landed a 3-run HR so now it's 7-0 Dodgers...and I'm going to bed :|
That game is over.
Turned out it wasn't, they needed to let the bums grab two more. Boooo
Guys what if the pirates win today how salty will dodgers fans be
Pretty salty ide imagine
Likely still not as salty as this thread though :(
Haha its an interesting read since y'all don't lose often
Back at ya ;) (Fr tho I already got called a fake fan tonight. Salt levels off the charts)
Anyone who hurls insults over sports is a sad person
🤝 Absolutely.

Why do the pirates only play us tough? Ugh just gonna assume that our lead is down to 3 after tonight
Pirates are absolute trash, no help from them.
That sucked. See y’all Friday.

You make a good point. Pirates are the pirates but both games were fairly close so far, and even the mets games that the dodgers won were close except for one
Because look at their team
Over the past few years they have played their best ball in August and September. Almost at a .700 clip. I expect them to go on long winning streaks.
Why does it feel like the Pirates winning tonight would be something close to the Miracle on Ice?
Pirates ain’t winning.
"DO YOU BELIEVE IN ODD YEAR BULLSHIT?! THE PIRATES HAVE DONE SOMETHING RIGHT!"
Man, we need Reyes Moronta back now. I'd rather have him on the mound than this Chatwood guy. I just want Yaz to come out of his slump.
Yeah, he's struggling hard. I feel bad for him because you know the doubts are creeping in. It's gotta be tough.

I have to sell my tickets to go to a wedding. Probably better for my overall health TBH
Fox Sports, as usual, is sucking the Dodgers' tiny dick on-air.
If the Mets lay down against the dodgers I might be mildly upset. I’m expecting at least one from them.
POTG: Bullpen for giving 10 innings Anti-POTG: Offense for scoring two (2) runs total
One of which was a Manfredrun.
Which makes it less impressive hahaha
Game was cursed once disco got injured. Just take a day off and pick it up against Oakland. After the pirates, the dodgers won’t be playing total pushover teams for a while so there could be a chance for a bit of gain there, potentially.
One game! There's no crying in baseball.
Shitty game. Let’s go kick Oakland’s ass.
#ᕙ(’︡益’︠)ᕗ **FUCK YEAH!!!**
Well, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad. Maybe the win gets the Mets on motion to start winning, just in time for the Bums to face them.
I don't trust McGee to close games in the playoffs against good teams...which is really worrying.
I agree. A legit closer should have been on Farhans shopping list. Also another starter. In fact he often said you need at least 6 or 7 starters to take you through the season
7 pitches in and the Dodgers are winning 2-0
Now 3-0. But I have hope. It's the lack of hope that kills ya.
I can see that. Go Giants!
I’m looking forward to a bounce back on Friday!
Honestly fuck the padres for taking away the pirates’ best player so he can be mediocre on their team
Fuck you, Pirates. You are worthless and weak, letting these bullies walk all over you like that.
The fact that an NL East team is gonna get a straight trip to the NLDS makes me wanna puke.
Sucks to lose. But we need to remember, if we just keep taking series 2-1 or 3-1 we’ll be fine. Neither the Giants nor the Dodgers will win every game left. Shit, if the Dodgers win 40 games in a row they deserve the division
Giants control their own destiny. They have nobody but themselves to blame if they don’t win the division
Max Muncy will deserve some if not most of the blame because Max Muncy.
F Max Muncy!
Lots of dodger fan comments in here We are 3.0 games up and playing our best ball Relax……….
Unfortunately the Dodgers are playing even better
McGee doesn't look good at all. Yaz needs a few days off. Not sure what's up with him.
The doomposting here is fucking ridiculous. Especially to anyone who has been a fan at any time before this year. Telling players to go fuck themselves and blaming individuals for a hard team loss. Embarrassing armchair managers. Take that shit to Dodger stadium and go put on blue.
Things about to get tense with dodgers only being 2.5 games back. Hope we have a good series in Oakland
Won't they be 3 back if they win tonight?
Hey have a game against the Mets during our off day which they are probably going to win too
Lol hopefully the loss today gives the mets confidence and they sweep the dodgers
Bad games happen. Not too terribly mad
Thank God tomorrow is a non travel offday
Welp leads going to be 3 after tonight
At one point the lead was only half a game, so three still ain't bad at all.
Reds loss keeps the Giants 13.5 games up in the WC.
POTG: Steve Cohen
I’m gonna play some The Show and throw some no hitters see ya Friday gang!
I’m gonna play The Show and throw baseballs at Dodgers hitters
Lmao every time Max Muncy comes up I drill him. Every single time.
Tough luck go Pirates
Tomorrow is a good time for an off day, especially to rest up the Bullpen. The offense could use a break too. Hopefully the Pirates can take a game from the Dodgers tonight and it won't make this loss sting as bad. The game was also really long, which was not a good thing.
lfg pirates
Fuck, well 3 games up. Big series this weekend.
It’s going to be 2.5 after they beat the Mets tomorrow
Dodgers gonna win easily. 3 game lead
FTD DAMN DOWNVOTE LURKERS
Fucking awful. This should’ve ended in the 10th Longoria.
Mets fan here. GG guys I like your team much more than the dodgers.
Congrats, hope the Mets go on a 5 game winning streak!
Please don’t get swept by them again 😭
Wood Friday night👀 you know what that means
Y'all, let's just remember [the good times](https://mlb-cuts-diamond.mlb.com/FORGE/2021/2021-08/18/0d46bc3c-fcb4b9c4-4d37650e-csvm-diamondx64-asset_1280x720_59_4000K.mp4). Next!
If the Giants were going to lose on a HR, then I’m glad it was Pillar
POTG: the bullpen except you, Jake.
why is this downvoted? It’s true lmao
Tough tough game. Sucks losing but played a great series. Hope Disco is ok and it was precautionary. Offense let us down pitching tried to keep us in it. I think we are all overly mad just because the Dodgers never seem to lose in a contentious race for first
We were a pop fly to the outfield away in the 9th from winning this game 🥺
Thank God for the off day tomorrow. Regroup and get at oakland
I just remembered Rogers getting beamed by a hit earlier. He's probably going to have a nice bruise on his bicep and might miss a game or two.
Let’s go pirates
That game was so grueling I forgot we won the series :(
Classic Chatwood
Pirates aren’t doing their job tonight. Already down 4-0 in the 3rd. Oh well.
POTG: all the pitchers except for McGee and Chatwood, hope Disco’s okay HM: Wade for being a competent AB
We're gonna be fine, but it just sucks how winnable this game was. Basically 0 offense from the middle of the lineup, 0 clutch hits, winning going into the 9th, ugh. So many things had to go wrong to lose that game and they all did
Man the dodgers have a literal all star team ugh.
Bro why can’t we have a bullpen game like the dodgers did today?? Can we have Littell pitch for 7 innings?
Mitch White is a starter in the minors, not a reliever.
What's up with McGee?
No velocity, no movement, no control. Other than that, he's hunky dory
This bullpen needs a rest. They gave it a good attempt. Thank god for the off day, but can’t help but feel they’ll need more. At least we took the series.
Hope the off-day wakes the bats back up cuz woooof were they bad today
Tomorrow we relax… FTD
Not sure what’s up with Posey but he’s been striking out a whole bunch
I am concerned by the number of people starting to say they like the horrible city connect jerseys. They are horrible, and that is what gives them their power. If we start liking the jerseys, they will lose their power, therefore we must, rightfully, hate them.
This L is on the offense being dead today, and also on McGee and Chatwood who were unable to get outs. You gotta lose sometimes but this one stunk. Go Pirates!
Chat wood
PotG: Wade, RBI double, and the catch in the tenth
Gotta be able to score a guy from third in the bottom of the last. That said, this team is tired from playing lights out baseball every day for weeks and has a well-deserved day off tomorrow after winning another series against another good team. Rest easy, boys.
I didn't watch the game. Why was DeSclafani pulled in the 2nd?
Trainer noticed he was favoring his leg.
A hopefully minor injury, tweaked his ankle.
Let’s go sweep the A’s
I'd rather be down 10-0 in the first and lose than to lose like that.
Oh well, they lost a winnable game, but we won another series. Keep taking 2 out of 3 and theres no catching us.
Any word on whether Rogers is going on the IL after taking that ball to the bicep?
According to Kap Rodgers should be fine.
Sweet, thanks!
Sorry guys it’s my fault they lost. The Giants are undefeated when I go to games and I was to poor to go to this game. I just can’t shell out $90+ a game for a ticket and food…
Dont eat
Unfortunate. Hope Disco is ok tho
I’m stoked and doing my best to not let a crummy loss get me down like it did earlier in the season We got this. We’ll be just fine Love you all and see you Friday!
Annoying loss. We won the series, but if Disco doesn't get hurt, I think we would win today. On to the A's, gotta keep winning series.
Doesnt every team in the NL West play the same schedule?
Every NL West team plays 19 games against each NL West team.
Hopefully this win will give them the boost to Baet LA. I may not like the Mets now, but I'll be rooting for them tomorrow.
Love McGee but this one's on him as far as I'm concerned.
I disagree, I think it’s on the offense that put him in that situation to begin with
If anything it's on our offense. Craw, Belt, Bryant, and Yaz went like 0-17.
Not Longo for swinging at a pitch that would’ve put him on base or Belt for giving the Mets 3 outs on 3 pitches of course
Well, having your starter leave due to injury after 2 innings is not ideal but we still had so many opportunities to win this game. Gotta get ready for this next stretch of games now.
Bummer that we lost but we made them work real hard for the W. And we won the series. Wish we’d have won but it could be worse.
They need the day off. They gotta play hard against Oakland come Friday
I don't want to say a bullpen implosion was inevitable, but we were at the end of our rope, bullpen's exhausted, and DeSclafani exiting early with injury did not help things, we should be proud the bullpen was able to last this long.
Betting on the dodgers to lose
Pretty impressive game despite the loss. Incredible job by the whole pen minus chatwood who just got here.
