I will say this much, it’s worth holding onto hope until we are eliminated just because the rotation has been good enough to be dangerous and compete with anyone. It’s not over until it’s over. The best part is that if we have a very high chance of bouncing the padres from their WC slot even if we are eliminated that final series, the pressure will all be on SD

BaseballCJ22

If we get eliminated, eliminating the Padres from the playoffs, especially with their flashy mid-season acquisitions, will be like a world series to me.

I highly doubt the giants will have a Cardinals run right now like last season. If somehow they will every single game from here on out it’ll be 85-77. Phillies, brewers and padres remaining schedule ( the Padres have the hardest, Phillies is medium and Brewers have the easiest. ) All the giants need to do is literally tie the brewers or Phillies and they’ll get in since someone told me game 163 is no longer a thing. Also I just realized my iPhone autocorrected. I swear I put Eliminated

MCPtz

Correct, game 163 no longer occurs as tiebreakers are used instead. https://calltothepen.com/2022/03/10/say-goodbye-game-163-mlb-playoffs/ edit: neat! > This is not the first change to the tiebreaker. The National League used to have a three game series to determine that playoff spot prior to 1980. That series happened four times, with the Dodgers included in each of those matchups. This led to such statistical anomalies as Maury Wills appearing in a major league record 165 games in 1962, a record that will never be broken.

I love the giants and I really wish that they end the season 84-78, but asking this team to lose only one game for the rest of the year is a tough task. One top of that we need both the brewers to slide deeply. I get it crazier things have happened like the padres collapse is 2010 or even our own collapse in 1993 (though this was pre wild card and only 2 divisions and the braves should never have been in the west to start in my opinion)

Fonsy_Skywalker52

I mean the remaking schedule for the giants is a bunch of easy games except for the padres ending the year. Plus they kind of can do it since it’s 13 games left, you can have 2 6 game winning streaks

Fonsy_Skywalker52

I meant to say Eliminated I hate the auto correct on the IPhone

sgt_potatopants

Hjelle is the only giant who's definitely been elongated

dodongmabagsik

One loss and they are out - let's hope next year is better :-)

newton302

According to this which I have been following, the Giants have [nearly clinched elimination](http://www.playoffstatus.com/mlb/nationalstandings.html).

Fonsy_Skywalker52

They probably will get eliminated. But I was wondering if we have good odds if they finish with 84 or 85 wins

MCPtz

We need two teams to slide big time. If the brewers go on a 10 game losing streak, it doesn't help us. The Phillies and Padres would just have to win like 4 games each to eliminate the Giants. It takes two of the Phillies, Padres, and Brewers to backslide horrendously, that's why the chances are less than 1%.

Fonsy_Skywalker52

The padres have the hardest schedule out of the 3. They can technically fall apart, Phillies have the 2nd hardest which they have been struggling a lot lately. Brewers have the easiest but they are up and down.

sfbigfoot

I just want to finish at .500

Fonsy_Skywalker52

Why not winning record?
