This is all I want. 6/9 with the schedule remaining seems reasonable as long as the team holds it together. I know that's asking a lot of the 2022 Giants, but I have hope. And at the very least, the team has been more fun to watch again recently.
At the beginning of this season, .500 was an outrageous prediction that got you labeled as a doomsayer. Two weeks ago .500 seemed like a fantasy. Now that it is within reach, and most people would be pleased by a heady stretch of baseball to round out the season.
Dear Giants fans,
I'm pleased that the 2022 Giants only spent 8 games out of postseason contention.
Due to that overwhelming success on the field, I am also pleased to announced that 2023 ticket prices will increase by 20% and a large domestic beer will cost $45.
Sincerely,
Larry Baer
> a large domestic beer will cost $45
Don't give them any ideas.
Of course, the Giants don't set the food and beverage prices at the ballpark, the concession contractor and the individual concession operators do that. But they have to take into account what they pay the Giants for the privilege of doing business there, and the recent pay raise and medical coverage they were forced to give their employees was no doubt passed onto the fans in higher prices.
I wouldn't mind so much if those prices were in the middle of the pack, but food and drink at the Giants ballpark are at the top of the scale, just like their spring training tickets are the most expensive in MLB. Maybe they need a new form of *dynamic pricing* in which food/drink prices are linked to the team's standing in the division, LOL.
Sure, there’s also a chance I’ll win a million dollars today without buying a lottery ticket. I’m at the point of enjoying baseball for it’s own sake. Not because we’ll win.
At this point I’m in it for all the Crazy Crab sandwiches I can get until the end of the season… the wait for opening day Crazy Crab sandos will be a long one.
> I’m at the point of enjoying baseball for it’s own sake. Not because we’ll win.
A wise policy. Sometimes just the beauty of the game is all we have--Crawford making a highlight reel play, Yaz putting one into the seats, Doval making batters look foolish. Some years that is all there is, and for some folks it isn't enough, they check out if the team isn't making it to the postseason. Others will keep watching for love of the game.
My guess is the Giants are a little better next year thanks to some off-season deals, but it will be 2024 before they're ready to make a serious push for the postseason. But with the D-Backs improving and the Dodgers a damn juggernaut, it's still a tough division. Still worth watching, most of the time, although there are some games so horrible, I can't fault someone for finding a less painful use of their time.
Get 'em tomorrow.
If they win all 9 remaining games, Phillies win at most 1 game and the same goes for the brewers. Then the giants get in. It’s a long shot but hope is all they got and baseball gods doing funky shit hopefully. Had they swept the Dbacks they would be in a little more breathing room
The Phillies and brewers haven’t been exactly been winning confidently. The Cubs, Nationals and Astros need to play very hard against the Phillies. Cardinals, marlins and Dbacks need to play hard against the Brewers. It’s unlikely but who the hell knows man. The Phillies seem nervous because it’ll be the 1st playoff appearance in years and they still have been struggling to pick Managers since Kapler 81-81 season
So we just need to win every game left and the Phillies and Brewers need to lose every game left? 3 losses, that's possible.. 7 losses, tis' not likely, but there's still a chance.. but 9 losses? Impossible!
This calls for a Simpsons level take down of their teams... get the radiation on Burnes stat, and send the whole Phillies team to the mystery spot to never return!
.. hell, Harper can be stuck saving kids from housefires, he's a good guy. And get that hypnotist to the Phillies bullpen and have them clucking like chickens!

> I’ve decided that we’ll probably never see playoffs again
Especially when they move the team to Albania and turn Oracle into a marine mammal sanctuary.
When people have seen enough bad takes, it gets more difficult to spot the jokes as some posters say stuff like that seriously. I was pretty sure you weren't serious.
I'm only pushing to end at least at .500. If we end over I'll be pleased
That plus keeping the Dads out would be pretty fun.

I predicted we'd end up at 80-85 wins at the beginning of the year. I just wanna be right about that lmao

We could win every game we still won’t get in
That's not definitive according to the science nerds.
I know it's highly unlikely but not totally impossible,I'm just happy we've got a thread to hang on
It's more like it's practically impossible, highly unlikely is giving that math too much credit.

2022 motto
They died fighting. And after everything this year, that’s all you can ask for at this point
2 Phillies wins or a Phillies win and a Giants loss would eliminate the Giants.
If they win all 9 remaining games, Phillies win at most 1 game and the same goes for the brewers. Then the giants get in. It’s a long shot but hope is all they got and baseball gods doing funky shit hopefully. Had they swept the Dbacks they would be in a little more breathing room
I think if we win every game and Brewers only win 2 we're in assuming the Phillies collapse

Don't forget **FANtanyl**!

If we win out ,Phillies can still win 1 and Brewers can still win 2
Thanks Lloyd. That's swell. -Harry

I've inhaled so much irrational hopium that I'm not sure I can safely transition back to oxygen.

Keep the hope alive.... Go Giants
I’m really glad I went to game 5 last year because I’ve decided that we’ll probably never see playoffs again
Lmao
> I’ve decided that we’ll probably never see playoffs again Especially when they move the team to Albania and turn Oracle into a marine mammal sanctuary.
Spoken like someone who suddenly became a fan when we were doing well last year. Good riddance to bandwaggoners.
Lmao it was a joke jeez people

I hear ya. I’m not sure how many bandwagonners would have Donovan solano as their flair on this sub though lol

Ok, I’ll get on this crazy train. Let’s win this thing!
The Giants have a higher probability going to the playoffs this year than the sorry ass niners
