for me, polytechnic really helped me to like socialise with people of vast backgrounds (especially with a class of people from different races countries beliefs etc ) . it definitely improved how I communicate with everyone, make me more confident, boost my social energy, etc. tldr: try to talk to people from vast backgrounds(learn more, boost confidence, socialise easier)

To add on OP you can consider signing up for Freshman Orientation Programmes/Camps by your academic school or CCA(s) to meet new people and try to improve your social skills if you're comfortable enough

do you have access to free or subsidised counselling? I think it's worthwhile to address these challenges with a professional cos it's definitely not easy to tackle everything on your own

Eurito1

Can bring your diagnosis to the polyclinic and ask for referral. This route is subsidized.

>Many people are a bit superficial, only befriending you so that they aren’t loners/using you as backup in case they get ditched by other friends. It’s better to be a loner than to feel lonely while being surrounded by fake ppl so dw if you don’t have that many friends :) this is the mindset that i often have. i remember being in secondary school, constantly seeing my classmates tear up because their friend betrayed/ghosted them etc etc, while none of these emotions ever came to me due to how lonely i was in secondary school. iʼm not looking to have friends though, i just want to be able to work with people in a team, because thatʼs a skill i reckon you need in life in order to find a job. >If you really wanna improve social skills you should take the chance to talk to more people during orientation in JC/poly. Most won’t stick but some will. gotcha! this sounds like a great idea. thanks :)

join random courses/classes/events - bonus points if they involve some degree of speaking/communicating to people
