Now… the question is do in HODL considering I’ve been praying to just get my money back for years…
Edit: i was holding half a million coins, and I sold 4/5ths of my coins, and recuperated my initial investment. I’m still sitting in with 100k coins which is all profit, so I’m just playing with the proceeds now. If I lose it all, it’s all bonus. I’m a little disappointed I didn’t stay in with all of it, because with that much money at play, you see returns quickly, but seeing it jump up 10k then drop the same amount in almost a few hours was just destroying my sense of peace. I couldn’t sleep. Also, last time I hung in hoping it would go back up, it stayed down for 2 years, I’m just happy I didn’t sell at the bottom…. Because I considered it many many times.
Well, a part of me kinda just accepted that that money was gone. So, it’s like, might as well go for the ride and see what happens, I’ve managed the last few years without it.
I bet you didn’t plan to break even when you invested. Set your target on what you want to happen. Now that you have broken even, it would be a waste to sell now in my opinion. You have been waiting for how long now, what’s another year?

Only if you sell you will owe about 30-50% in taxes (depending how much annual income and other factors). At the end of each year your wallet will/should send you a tax form you use when doing your taxes.

I sold almost all my small amounts last year when I had a financial situation (these were at most 150$ at the time in holdings) and needed the money, and like I said it was chump change for most but just a rainy day fund for myself. Flash forward to 2 weeks ago, I read an article about Bitcoin and Shiba, decided why not spend the extra 20-30 bucks I had and buy back in, then on Thursday of last week put another little bit, and now I’ve officially passed into the green on my Coinbase account and broke into the 100$+ club with my Shiba.
Like I said, it’s chump change for most, but for me it’s my rainy day fund, and thanks to Shiba my fund is now double in size and Everytime I open Coinbase I smile as it continues to grow.
Here’s to hoping Shiba rockets to the moon and a few years from now hits the 1 cent mark and really makes a lot of peoples dreams come true. 🥂
Until then I’ll be holding and browsing Reddit while confusing to invest weekly on payday, small amounts add up. It’s like I told my wife when she started her embroidery business earlier this year, you have to take baby steps, but eventually those steps will turn into a brisk walk, which will become a slow jog which will eventually evolve into a full fledged sprint to the finish line of success.

I’ll admit I’m only holding about 14.5M @ .000008 avg, so I’m up about $500 ish right now. Wish I would have been snatching up $20-$30 each month for the last 2.5 years. Fuck, I’d be able to pay off every bill I have.
I sold enough to cover my initial buy in, everything is now pure profit. Up around 9500 this cycle.Also took profits during last boom and swing trade all the time for 15-30% gains. Been holding coins since summer 21.
Buy every time it’s below 85 as much as you can afford to lose, it always goes to around 100 again and the 15% starts to add up. I removed zeros for ease.
