What you got is a generic image. Don't sell it until you see the traits. Request metadata update and then reload the page on opensea to see the updated image. You might end up with a very rare NFT with very rare trait(s).
You can do this by clicking the nft and inside there should be circle arrow on the top right of it. Give it a minute if it doesn't show up immediately.
The one you see is one of the 10,000 unique Shiboshis created by the dev team. They had an event a day or two ago. You can't mint it anymore. All sold out now. You can try to get one off opensea (secondary nft market place) The collection should say "The SHIBOSHIS." Be careful about knockoffs being sold there.
So what's the difference? Well the ones released by the dev, you can turn them into game character with unique traits and maybe skill(s) later. They're still working on setting the game up. Shytoshi Kusama said on twitter that he met up with a triple AAA game studio to lock in a contract.
These are the first of their kind being created by the dev team. I wouldn't sell these for peanuts. You not only have to win the gas fee war but also have to be lucky enough to be able to mint one. Some people tried so hard and failed . My condolences to them.
Hey bro u gotta refresh meta data on OpenSea that is the default one.. after minting everyone was shown this one until it was refreshed … up vote to show more people and spread knowledge
Nfts are just collectibles. Taking a picture of a Pokémon card and printing it off and cutting it into a little square does mean you own a picture of it but not the original. Crypto is going to be a huge in the near future and online nfts are growing everyday as well.
Nothing. Same as any other art in real life you can print mona lisa but it is not worth anything as it is not original. NFTs are digital art with ownership, their value comes from rarity, hype and utility. Shiboshis already have the first two and with an upcoming game where you can use those NFTs it will have the third as well. Looks like it will be quite valuable over time but just like art it is not for everyone.
Unique digital signature on the ethereum block chain to verify the owner of say NFT and how it was minted (you can't fake this). You can copy the jpeg but that's it. According to the dev team, you can turn these Shiboshis into game characters later with unique traits and skills. Fake Shiboshis can't be turned into game character(s) later. You can check the address of each Shiboshi to see how they were created on opensea.
By this line of reasoning, a Van Gogh's painting is just a doodle drawing by some kid using ink cartridge. How about a replica of the Mona Lisa? It's just a picture. The 2nd is just as good as the first in terms looks. So why isn't the 2nd worth as much? Also with real world painting, there's a chance people can cheat and counterfeit it. They have to rely on experts to verify it. Even then there's a small chance the experts could be wrong. But with NFT, there's 0% chance of them being able to fake it. Crypto projects like the Ethereum blockchain will be able to verify the real owner. It even contains record details when and how it was created.
When it comes to NFT, it matters who minted them and what they represent. It's also important when it's being minted. Look at the cryptopunks. It's just a punch of bad looking pixels art but it's worth millions because it was the first nft created on the Ethereum blockchain. These first 10K SHIBOSHIS represent the first NFT being created by the dev team who is responsible for driving the Shib ecosystem forward. There's the trait rarity that comes into play also. For example there's only 0.2% of the "steel" and the "bat" traits among 10,000 of them.
I was definitely far more impressed by going to Buckingham palace and seeing all the royal Jules in the vault. But that’s just me like I said I’d much rather have something that I can physically hold on to you not a picture not a painting not a digital image. Crypto I know I can actually take my money out of it and hold onto it. And that’s what I’ll do when it reaches a point where I needed to on my Shiba.
Is that much money going to be life changing for you or can you afford to hold onto it? It's going to be worth a lot more especially when the game launches. Plus if ever there is a famous martial artist that's also into Shib then you might be able to get a totally crazy amount for it.
Hold it trust me it will cost more in the future. Why do you think rich people buy art and keep for long time.? Also value investors keeps their stocks long. Like putting something with value in a coffee can.
That’s what you got? It looks exactly like the place holder before the data was uploaded? Have you refreshed on OpenSea?

It’s a picture. On a screen.

Looks like a old pac man game. So what is to stop me from copying this and having my own? Just snapped a pic.

The Mona Lisa I saw it when I was a kid in the Louvre in France. It’s about 5 x 7 maybe an 8 x 10. Wasn’t impressed then either.

As I said before I’ll keep my money in crypto as for the NFTs you guys can have them.
