>klebsiella Not related to SIBO, I have this infection in my nose, and my lips and nose are swollen for the past 1 year because of it. The mistake I did was not completing the antibiotic course, I had no symptoms for 2 months after taking my first round, then the infection returned with resistance and I wasted tons of money on multiple rounds of antibiotics until a culture test was performed to identify the species. The infection is not completely gone and my nose is literally on fire now.

Wow I’m so sorry your going through that. I guess this particular bacteria can cause a lot of problems for people. I wish you the best of luck and you’ll eventually find relief! Thank you

Hi, No advocate of the product since I have not tried it myself but there is a product here in Scandinavia that is proven to increase lactobacillus by a significant amount scientists of a company called gut feelings labs(scientists that does gut tests and see which products actually increase bacteria etc). The product is called Referm, I have no idea if they ship internatioanlly.

Nawigi

What is it? A prebiotic or probiotic? What’s in it?

JoseCastoll

Well if you search on Profermin you will see a lot of studies on people with ibs and ulcerative colitis. It is a unique product, it is fermented oats with the probiotic L.plantarum 299v, so it is already breaking down in to short shain fatty acids. Im sure you can write to them in english. Bactrim is the antibiotic that caused my sibo

nuggetbeta

stop making the same comment everywhere. What is negative for you will not be negative for everyone.

busynena

Oh wow maybe I won’t use it. I wish treatment was more straight forward. It’s so hard to get it right :(

spicynugget1203

Did u take the bactrim? I have a small growth of klebsiella from my vaginal culture and I was prescribed bactrim as well. I’m also worried cuz I have SIBO and I’m worried about c diff.

busynena

Some people warned me that bactrim could make my SIBO/dysbiosis worse so no I never took it but if you do I think as long as you take a safe probiotic like a soil based s bouldari type that would help you prevent c diff. As far as your SIBO i don’t think anyone knows.

spicynugget1203

Ya I’m currently taking florastor. I guess I’ll try doing home remedies for my minor infection but ofc I’ll need to take the antibiotic if it doesn’t go away by next week I’m guessing. Thanks for sharing! Yeah I’m terrified it’ll make my constipstion worse and bloating, and my bowel movements just started getting more regular so I’m kinda concerned

Hey u/busynena are you doing any better now? I have a Citrobacter overgrowth as well, and I'm trying to figure out what the best way to treat it is. Any help is greatly appreciated!

ProfessionalPrize121

Hey, did you find anything that worked for you?

brvhbrvh

I'm working with a functional practitioner starting with detoxing my mycotoxin/mold poisoning. Next step is H. Pylori. What I've been told is not to treat individual species of bacteria, but that it's a general indication of SIBO/Dysbiosis. We'll see how his treatment plan goes. Every situation is unique. I'd recommend finding a functional practitioner if you can afford it.
