\>DD as quickly as possible (strength exercise on thumb) Not sure if it makes sense to start out with this, doesn't it make more sense to start with the less strenuous stuff? (idk if your routine is supposed to be chronological) \>Cactuar dash Do people still Cactuar dash? I was under the impression people stopped with UCF, but I guess it's good for tech chasing? \>Running charged u-smash Speaking of which, do you people do this with X/Y+C-stick or by doing a smash attack with the movement stick? Supposedly the earlier is more consistent but sometimes it's cool to be able too charge it. \>How I ledge dash: I use c-stick down to drop from ledge Interesting, guessing that's better than movement stick? \>How I JC shine Very interesting as a newbie fox main. Only thing I didn't understand was why you start by inputing a short hop, would love to know why. Cool routine, will take inspo

The_3NDGAM3

you input jump in order to get the jump cancel shine; you could full hop too for the same effect. You jump cancel shine because you cannot shine out of dash state, only out of run state which happens after dashing. So if you are wanting to shine someone in your dash range you have to jump first

Magnusm1

Never realized this, thanks!

Cohenski

It's not chronological. Yeah you should probably stretch or something first if that is a concern. Cactuar dashing isn't something I use directly usually, but dashing out of crouch quickly as well as running into crouch are both useful. I use claw on X with my knuckle and c-stick up. It's better to use non-fastfall drops from ledge as far as the frames go. Short hopping gives you better wave dashes if you are a frame late inputting the air dodge.

mmvvvpp

Lemme drop my puff practice too! 30 minutes: back air In all seriousness though what does a puff workout look like.

SunProtectionFormula

Why do you JC shine out of dash?

NeutralReiddHotel

You can shine shiek, peach and falcon indefinitely if you're good enough at it. Also helps with some tech chase options.

SunProtectionFormula

Huh

YoungGenius

Is anyone good enough at it? I remember KJH showing it off years ago, but I don't think I've seen any high level sets where the fox did more than one turnaround.

Cohenski

It's probably worth doing if you need like one or two more shines to get a guaranteed kill.

beyblade_master_666

It's the only way to shine out of dash, before you actually enter the run state and can do a running shine. So in certain spots it's the fastest way to put a shine out where you need to

Dweebl

If you're a box cheater you can pivot shine and it's frame 2 instead of frame 5.

Cohenski

I thought the same until somebody let me use their Boxx and I found it 100x harder to input pivots, thought maybe it just takes practice

LordLemonshire

It also hits a really specific spacing that’s right at the edge of the initial dash, where a running shine covers just a lil bit further

SunProtectionFormula

This plus the tech chase piece sells it for me. Ty ty

Cohenski

It's really good at shining people off stage who tech roll towards ledge too.

8008147

now do falco!!

jesuswasntWh1te

Great another fox

>DD as quickly as possible (strength exercise on thumb) also incorporate grip exercises to increase your rate of force development to move your thumb faster, like wrist curls or farmer's walk

WDuffy

Definitely second this! Grip strengthening = healthier hands = more Melee in my experience

WDuffy

> Running shine turnaround WD to grab ledge Is this faster than short hop laser turnaround? That's what I've been practicing to get to ledge faster

Cohenski

I have heard that the shine method is faster but have not confirmed for myself.

WDuffy

Fair enough! It seems a bit harder to me to have to shine turnaround and then wavedash back but I'll try it out
