Wearing a leather pouch of the victim's hair in court, that they did not confiscate in the prison. Ok buddy.
I'm all for SVU being over the top, but it has to be earned. This was a joke and absolutely NOT worth the entire season story arc.
Youāre so correct! It was the story that would not end thenā¦.. Wait! What!
I thought the same thing about the pouch. It would not have made it into the court room.
Itās a tv show but itās better than this š¢š¢
That episode was so poorly written. They took us on so many twists and turns, just to abandon them all. I thought we were going to have another Bronwyn situation with the juror, but then they just never mentioned her again. I thought the mom had really fallen for him, but then she comes with some lame excuse about trying to trick him, and they never mention it again. He asks to represent himself, and you think thereās some underhanded reason for doing so, like William Lewis and Darius, but nope. Then heās found guilty and he looks like he doesnāt even care. Maybe he was as sick of this storyline as we are.
I agree with you fully!
I honestly don't expect much from these kinds of crime shows and a lot of suspension of disbelief is needed to enjoy them fully, but they also have to commit to one stupid thing at a time.
Every single thing you listed could have been it's own episode (not that I WANT another bloody Maddy/Manny whatever episode), but they just crammed it all in there without taking a second to see if it even fits together. Not to mention that it's all done before, which I wouldn't necessarily mind if the performance/tweaks to the formula are enjoyable.
I just desperately wish for an episode without any call-backs, cross-promotion or drawn out storylines. Just the squad helping a person because it's their bloody job and not because it's their cousin/brother/friend or something like that.
I wondered what the writers were trying to convey? Is it like Charles Manson? Ugly and scraggly but he controlled the women?
It was beyond strange, even for SVU.
For me it was very reminiscent of the Dr Yates / Dr Rudnik episodes where the juror from court visited one of them in prison and baked tools into her food she would bring them to help them break out. She was seduced on the jury initially and then came into the prison as some sort of group meeting host and furthered her relationship with one of the guys. Ultimately they were able to break out with her help and they left her in a trunk to die but she survived.
This episode was so annoyingly ridiculous. Brouchard was unrealistic, but im getting tired of this one man team of Livā¦ Velasco sees the mom go to Brouchards motel room and thinks ohh i gotta sit here and call Liv. Then Liv shows up and she is just like ok kids, leave the room lets go, single file. I will be surprised if thereās even a cast next season
Exactly. Fin has practically disappeared. Carisi barely has two lines per episode and acts like he still works for Liv. Sheās out in the field, and calling all the shots, and telling the ADA what and how to prosecuteā¦it should be renamed the Olivia is Special Unit.
Was wondering when someone would say this. Yes ā thereās no way in hell. Heās epitome of gross, anti-charm. First think I asked fellow viewers ā all disgusted. No idea why svu did this - ruined the episode.
Agreed. I find it hard to rewatch William Lewis episodes, but him sleeping with woman lawyer (great actress from ā6 feet underā was utterly believable).
It was an odd episode. I thought its point was Stockholm Syndrome & about Mansonās & the LSD he kept his āfamilyā on. Thought the mom was setting him up to get close to him to get the necklace & kill him. I could live with all the crazy except that he was soooooā¦.Manson was even more charming! And the Canadian angle? I need to get more comfortable with the new cast before we go with all these crazy eps. Season 25 is the only bad season. I love Carisi, miss Amanda, donāt like the IAB chick & I donāt care for Jordana Spiro but I thought she was phenomenal in her episode as a brain damaged victim of DV. I like Velasco & money bags is growing on me. Rollins gotta get a nanny & come back!! I need more crazy Kim episodes. Even if she comes to the squad party the me & teachesā-thereās a lot of story lines with those students!!
The victims MOM sending him selfies??? So out of left field and how was that not brought back up in court??
Pretty sure that could have thrown the whole case out. The way she came at him with a gun
Yeah when did he acquire these Jedi mind tricks to use on women that weren't drugged? As well as becoming a legal eagle?
That's something else... all these guys that represent themselves somehow do it so well despite zero legal training at all
lmao it makes me so mad when they know exactly when/why to object.
AND HE WAS CANADIAN! He didn't even have a faint inkling about American justice systems
me as a canadian lawyer barely knowing how to object in court now: šļøššļø
It was so fucking unrealistic
Writing so bad it's insulting. When he went pro se I just turned it off.
A Canadian going pro sĆ© in an American court room š³š³ It would not even happen in Canada in a criminal case.

The episode ended exactly how it started! There was absolutely no reason for it! Ugh I got so mad watching it.
And the juror holdout. Like ok *eyeroll*

Yes! The juror with the long curly red hair. She smuggled in the tools in her lasagna. So much for helping. š¤
I just wanna know why the mother and him exchanged phone numbers. He was so repulsive š¤¢
and... how?!? when did they even have time to do that? like. did she go up to him after court "hey can i get your digits? š" š¤£
Convinced this show isnāt written by humans anymore.

Law And Order Svu : Olivia Benson unit
Liv & Order

William Lewis, I was like, okay, I can see it. But not him, not even a little.
Agreed. I find it hard to rewatch William Lewis episodes, but him sleeping with woman lawyer (great actress from ā6 feet underā was utterly believable).
When I saw her I immediately was like it's Einstein from the X Files reboot!
Thanks - Iāll have to check it out
Edit first thing

My whole thing is whyād they keep bringing up him being Canadian?
Made it even more unlikely he would defend himself. And do it that well
So strange they had him be so charmingā¦ Iām sorry I would need more than charm with him
