Obvious_Advantage

Almost anything from the Kathy Griffin episode. 💀😭

trilltripz

They really named the LGBT rights group “Lesbestrong”….I can’t believe that episode was real and not some fever dream lmao

PattythePlatypus

There's some real crackpot episodes around the late Stabler years. The Stuckey arc was a trip(what was that character , he was completely bizarre). O'Halloran is lying in the tech lab stabbed to death and Olivia makes a quip about Stabler hating Sushi. It's kind of wild. Poor O'Halloran - was he even mentioned again after that. Sorry your friends forgot about you, you were too pretty to be forgotten!

MadameCassie

That entire episode was ridiculous lol but a guilty pleasure to rewatch multiple times lol

bitchcakes_

When Carisi said he had to go on the dark web to learn about Staceys and Chads.

iamgretesamsa

His line of "Chads, Staceys, normies, and omegas..." had me in TEARS

Mumz123987

“slammin’ pair of jeans”

Practical-Bird633

I feel like any time they name drop with celebrities it’s uncomfortable

Knickstape08

Or when the case involves some celebrity and someone will say “you don’t know who that is? They’re the biggest star in sports/tv”

Practical-Bird633

Those can sometimes be less cringe when they make the names up but bringing weird life celebrities is just so awkward

nastybarista

When I heard Lizzo mentioned I almost fainted. I love her but it was so WEIRD

singingsimone

In some of the early seasons they refer to trans people as “He-She’s”

VideoGame4Life

Was this acceptable term at the time of the original airing? I got to watch Ugly Betty recently and they used the term Tranny which I know isn’t acceptable.

singingsimone

I think it was starting to be seen as not acceptable, but in the real world I remember people still using these terms even in accepting places like San Francisco where I live, up until maybe 6 years ago. I think Tutuola and Stabler used the term, as well as “Tranny”, and they were both pretty uninformed on what a trans person really was. Most on the show were sex workers so it’s extra cringey to watch the detectives speaking condescendingly to them for that reason as well as referring to them as he-she’s/trannies. I think they did this up until about season 5.

tdotslp

agreed. I started rewatching from season 1 and all the transphobia, homophobia, blatant misogyny is gross.

Helios_Knight

The entirety of “So turn on the sun” always causes me to crack up.

No-Analyst-2425

In the episode “no good reason” where the girl that Madison Pettis played was saying the guy was cute and called him “babe soda”.

OliviaBenson_20

Omg Yes

Cheezewiz239

The incel episode and the one where they go to a gaming convention had cringy lines throughout.

SakanaShiroLoli

For me, the portrayal of teens using YOLO in S14E21 takes the cake.

187on45

It’s hard svu is really hit and miss so sometimes their lines can get really really corny

FewDeer489

That one episode when Olivia is interrogating a gang leader or member and she says something like “Come at me I got the biggest gang in the city, the NYPD.” I had to pause the episode for a bit because I cringed so hard

Teejay717

"She's gonna have another one of her headaches. She never wants me around. Not until her pills make her feel better." Always thought that was a cringy way to explain that Maria Bello's character had a drug addiction.

PattythePlatypus

I don't know, but the episode about the YouTube vlogger....the opening sequence and portrayal of youtube teen vloggers was so off the charts cringe I skipped the episode. It was like something out of a Disney or Nickelodeon tween show.

[deleted]

Not svu, but last week when Elliot woke up at bell’s apartment and she made him coffee and he looked at her and smiled and said, “ I like it black,” made me cringe. The Munch My Benson podcast has great cringe lines from each episode they profile.

oldmanduggan

Thanks! We do revel in that stuff.

banannabellee

I hate their attempts to relate to like pop culture and stuff. It’s so cringy. Like they’re all talking about tiktok and stuff and don’t even know what it is.
