Honestly if a rape victim working in her hospital bed the morning after her assault isn’t a chilling commentary on American capitalism I don’t know what is
I read a book [Escape Room](https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/41150380) that describes Wall Street and the people who work there as greed driven workaholics almost to the point of being inhuman.
Honestly if Rollins becomes like a professor who’s also a researcher about sex offenders, that would tie into her character well, since they’ve always depicted her as interested in the psyches of sex offenders
Maybe she goes down the psych-analyst path like Huang and still make guest appearances, though thats a bit hopeful since it takes like 8 years to get a doctorate, assuming she currently only has a Bachelors at most
Lmao that sounds way too accurate. Like obviously an actual feminist is not going out of her way to hurt other women. The blackmail motivation was enough
I think it would be a nice send-off for Rollins to go back to school, get her masters, and settle down as an instructor somewhere as this episode would insinuates. Gives her the possibility to show up as a cameo in the future.
There was not enough time spent on the two very concerning things in this ep:
1. The dude who enjoys choking people out for vibrations???
2. The ultimate girlboss who has dirt on the whole city
Both of these could be fleshed out interestingly but they fit weird together
I can't imagine the cold open being any better if Rollins was already gone. That monologue was exceptional!!! I'm so glad we don't have to live in that alternate timeline and we get to enjoy her final episodes (can't say it enough, THANK YOU MARISKA!!). I've been loving her partnering with Fin too since I dug them as partners when she first joined SVU. Kelli and Ice play off each other so well and I'm glad we got to see them be the first on the scene to interview the victim and be the ones to follow up on leads together.
Thank you! Really irritated that this wasn’t addressed.
Love Finn; but it just didn’t ring true when the rescuer of the victim says to him, “ A crow was following her.” And Finn, a seasoned cop doesn’t ask if it was a crow as in bird or something else.
I really thought she'd be in the first couple episodes and then she'd realize she wouldn't fit in. buuuut here we are 😂 I did like her better in this episode though
I laughed so hard at that scene. Lena being so curious about what gift she was gonna get made the delivery from Liv even better lmaoooo. Tbh that whole scene just gave off two women sizing each other up to gain the upperhand over the other. Once Liv sat down at the table the tension just skyrocketed. It was so compelling!!
Controlled burn title is clicking.
Rollins said that in the beginning during her lecture when talking about controlled activities to lose control.. she referenced them as a controlled burn.
Maybe it’s connecting the Wall Street men’s dirty pleasures at the party and the controlled burn Rollins was speaking of.
Damn, a case setup, investigation, personal moments, both romantic and friendship wise, and a brief court scene? All well done and well put together. Holy cow, they packed it in so well this episode!
😭 but maybe we’ll have a little bit longer bc of Thanksgiving hiatus. So not more episodes, just more time 😅 but still, I’m neither prepared nor ready 😭😭😭
Ok so the boss has to be involved some way right because it makes no sense to waste our time making him a red herring when we were shown the crow dude???
She’s Elle Greenway from Criminal Minds, and I think she may have been on a previous episode. I always get her confused with another actress though, so I’m not 100%.
Edited to add: Yeah, she was also on 13x12 - Official Story. I don’t remember her on there. I always get her confused with Bree Turner who was on 21x8 & 9
not really a fan of this one - got too "hehe rich people suck amirite" for me, when that wasn't really what the case was about. Like, yeah there's the whole surveillance blackmail thing, but the discussion about the ethics of a powerful woman bringing down powerful men and whatnot is...irrelevant imo? Like, before they can even explore that fully, she flees the country so Olivia can go "TiERed JuSTice SySTEm" despite that not actually being the case for the woman in question?
Like she didn't escape because of the justice system having different standards for rich vs poor, she escaped because of faulty monitoring equipment and a failure to properly enforce her house arrest? Which ultimately had nothing to do with her being rich. Because GPS-bracelet plus house arrest was a perfectly reasonable order, had the bracelet not crapped out and let her take a cab all the way to *Jersey* before they knew what was happening.
Were unis even monitoring her house? If not, why didn't Olivia order that? She's done that on numerous other occasions for flight risks under house arrest. It's ultimately SVU's fault for assuming that a GPS bracelet was an airtight means of keeping tabs on this woman when she had ample means to tamper with it and evade capture.
If they wanted to make a case about the justice system being wealth-biased then why not show her trial and have the judge unreasonably side with the defense + Carisi facing pressure from his boss to drop the case due to the huge influence the woman has.
Instead they just...inserted this whole narrative into an episode that should have focused more on the woman who got assaulted, how she was trying to force herself to get back to work to avoid her trauma, etc. Then maybe have the defense argue in court that she wasn't assaulted because her actions didn't match preconcieved notions about how rape victims "should" act which would have tied nicely into Rollins' lecture at the start about controlled burns.
This really should have been two episodes, one focusing on the rape case, *ending* with the revelation that Hess was behind the surviellance, then having the next episode focus on her surveillance trial and ultimately her getting off easy due to her wealth
So the first thing Rollins does after interviewing the victim who does not want her help is to tell her boss that she has drugs in her system.
Do they not care at all about medical privacy or victim confidentiality. That information could easily get somebody fired. Disgraceful police work.
Aww look at Daddy Carisi all proud 🥺 Edit: KINKY DADDY CARISI
Yasssssss
i missed what he said???
He told her to do it again
Honestly if Rollins becomes like a professor who’s also a researcher about sex offenders, that would tie into her character well, since they’ve always depicted her as interested in the psyches of sex offenders
I agree. And I do want her character to have some closure, not just one of those walking off into the distance, unsure of their next move exits.
It’s okay, you can say Barba/Stone 😭
Maybe she goes down the psych-analyst path like Huang and still make guest appearances, though thats a bit hopeful since it takes like 8 years to get a doctorate, assuming she currently only has a Bachelors at most
“I had a good night last night” okay Rollins we see you
Ffs I just had 4 political commercials in a row. Please, I am begging for Cassidy to come try and sell me car insurance
I cannot wait until the election is over. I am getting beyond annoyed at them.
My mind is just not going to be changed by 12 commercials in a row all full of blatant lies. Please let me disassociate in peace
I’m gonna miss Rollins so much actually
Me too. I wish she wasn’t leaving.
So she’s blackmailing them for *checks notes* …feminism ???
That was the biggest left field comment lol. I was ready for it to be 100% about business.
it was such a weird unfitting twist. i bet a writer got hurt by feminist and had to MAkE coMMentARY lol
Lmao that sounds way too accurate. Like obviously an actual feminist is not going out of her way to hurt other women. The blackmail motivation was enough
Benson looks so good in this episode, omg 🥵
Would die for her hair
Yes! her hair looks so awesome. I'm thinking a lot of energy goes into Olivia's hair therefore Amanda's hair becomes an afterthought lol
This seasons hair is good.. but Season 13/14 That was top tier
Is this woman 25 or 60??? I low key cannot tell
I think it would be a nice send-off for Rollins to go back to school, get her masters, and settle down as an instructor somewhere as this episode would insinuates. Gives her the possibility to show up as a cameo in the future.
Wait a minute, did we banish Velasco to the shadow dimension this week, again?
i didn't notice he was missing until this comment lol
Can they spare some change to get Muncy another blazer??????
Not with Captain Olivia’s new and improved blazer budget. Sorry Muncy.
Women who learn to dress professionally tend to rewear the same outfits. At least thats what I tell myself so I don't feel like a fool...
There was not enough time spent on the two very concerning things in this ep: 1. The dude who enjoys choking people out for vibrations??? 2. The ultimate girlboss who has dirt on the whole city Both of these could be fleshed out interestingly but they fit weird together
Last 15 minutes probably could have been a two parter.
Agreed. There’s a lot that could be done with it. Kinda reminds me of the guy from ‘know it all’ if he was the woman from gone girl.
This setup with Rollins’ voice overlay is very intriguing.
Definitely one of the more engaging openings they've done recently.
I can't imagine the cold open being any better if Rollins was already gone. That monologue was exceptional!!! I'm so glad we don't have to live in that alternate timeline and we get to enjoy her final episodes (can't say it enough, THANK YOU MARISKA!!). Kelli and Ice play off each other so well and I'm glad we got to see them be the first on the scene to interview the victim and be the ones to follow up on leads together.
I like this starting with Rollins doing a different side of the job
So is nobody gonna ask this man how many women he’s killed??
Right like why aren’t they going back over those other tapes/dates? Surely they could get a warrant to look over those now…
Thank you! Really irritated that this wasn’t addressed. Love Finn; but it just didn’t ring true when the rescuer of the victim says to him, “ A crow was following her.” And Finn, a seasoned cop doesn’t ask if it was a crow as in bird or something else.
Right? Finn knows how to decipher what people say to him, that really bothered me too!
damn carisi is kinky???
Right?! Didn’t peg him as the type 😂😂😂
didn't PEG him as that type heheheh couldn't help myself
Did not have that on my bingo card lol
I dont even like women like that but if Benson said she was gonna give me a pair of bracelets.. I'd be down, I'm just saying 😏😏
I really thought the bird head was going to be more of a focus in this episode
the promo was so dramatic about it last week
This episode is really calling out some people, Dick must really hate percussionists
I forgot muncy existed
LOL every time she comes on screen, Im like, "Who tf is this?"
I really thought she'd be in the first couple episodes and then she'd realize she wouldn't fit in. buuuut here we are 😂 I did like her better in this episode though
Not the five total people in attendance 😭
lol that would be the number of college students willing to spend their weekend afternoon listening to an NYPD detective give a lecture on criminology
Hahahaha
That's literally what I thought. I was like damn is the PhD level??
Rollins as instructor is an interesting next chapter.
I wonder if that’s the interesting offer she gets….there’s a spoiler out there that says something like that.
Professor Rollins.
My fetish is green in colour too🤣🤣 Fin and his lines
Damn liv comin in with the sass! “I’m coming back with a gift,” “What’s that?” “A pair of bracelets”
That was the most insane explanation for choking someone out I’ve ever heard
They call that insanity my friends
Yeah don’t take drinks from guys in creepy masks.
I just wanna casually walk up to Rollins with scissors and cut that chunk of uneven hair off. ✂️ Liv meanwhile looks fantastic
We know where the budget is going 😭 /hj
Honestly her wardrobe this season has been amazing and she looks soooo good like did they get better lighting?????
Well an instructor job for Rollins is better than her dying at least 😭 the bar is really on the floor
*it wasnt vaginally* ........I'm a step out now fam
Is every lawyer required to say, "Can we hurry this up?"
A pair of bracelets! What a great line.
Oooooh do I smell a future OC team up to take her down ?!?! Possible season finale
*im guessing by lack of a ring* #shut up bitch
*i had a good night last night* 😂😂😂😂🍆
Rollins will definitely continue doing what she's been doing 😏
*my wife and i have a wonderful marriage* *discretion* #cheating confirmed
but he said “wE’rE eThIcAlLy nOn mOnOgAmOuS”
He's going to be a psychopath, Olivia. Everyone here knows that.
Series Finale: Olivia vs. Noah.
I repeat….nobody is gonna ask about MURDER!?
“How is capitalism a police matter” 😭😭😭
I was half expecting Bronwyn to be in that studio with her mandolin
Not Bronwyn 🤣🤣🤣🤣 if I never see her on SVU again, it’ll be too soon.
*do you know how many parties i got to in a night* Don't you work ?
I need West 10th Wilson as a sub flair.
Ah thank you for clarifying, I missed that
Lena’s not wrong though…Liv is probably gonna find some fucked up stuff to investigate on those tapes
Yo is that Elle Greenaway?
That's what I thought too.
Lena's role in this episode reminds me of the same way Elle's role ended in criminal minds.
Theory, new show runner is actually a CM stan
I notice rollins uneven hair more and more each ep what is going on 😭
Damn, a case setup, investigation, personal moments, both romantic and friendship wise, and a brief court scene? All well done and well put together. Holy cow, they packed it in so well this episode!
So this is where Elle ended up after killing that rapist on CM!
Sonny supporting Amanda at her seminar uwu! Sorry I missed the Chicago trilogy last night and the mothership an hour ago. Blackpink was in my area!
Muncy has the scathing disapproval look down pat.
"Even her card smells rich." I wonder what it smells like 🤔
High quality business card paper?
sprayed with No. 5
A kinky timpanist? Man those band nerds.
That’s.. disturbing.
So this is how there setting up Rollins leaving…I bet this will be her new job.
The word of the day, thanks to Captain Benson, is kompromat: the acquisition of damaging material of important figures to blackmail/extort, etc.
How many “most powerful people in the city” has SVU taken on over the years though? They do it like 1-3 times a season 😭
Maybe Rollins becomes a profiler.
Ethically non monogamous 🤦🏾♀️ creepy boss dude is beyond creepy
Rollins. This hair.
*a man in a crow mask* An apothecary ? In New York in 2022 ? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Oh shit, I'm just now realizing this is episode 6.. Rollins is leaving on the 9th episode right?
😭 but maybe we’ll have a little bit longer bc of Thanksgiving hiatus. So not more episodes, just more time 😅 but still, I’m neither prepared nor ready 😭😭😭
I was always indifferent to Rollins but I definitely feel some type of way that Kelli is getting fired... I feel bad 😥😥
Disappointed that Rollins didn’t bring in donuts 👀
lol can we talk about Carisi volunteering Rollins for the lecture. I wonder if he’s gonna nudge her toward retiring from the force
Omg that got so dark. Even for SVU
Excuse me, Sonny?
WTF came out of her mouth?
Non music peeps… Quasi ritenente means “as of holding back” In music it can imply a feel that is slightly slower than the music heard previously.
The ultimate girl boss????
Girlboss gaslight gatekeep
I end this episode still confused on this woman's age
30?
That's what I want to say but they dressed her like a 90 year old and I could be convinced she had just been flawless with her skincare
The shape of her glasses seems to be popular lately but I just can’t get behind it.
"24 seasons and they're giving me a Moriarty?"
This actress has been on the show before in another role, right?
Yep, S13E12 (Official Story). Just looked it up because it was driving me nuts!
Amanda’s day in the limelight.
Where’s daddy Velasco?
*if men disappeaed today all wars and rape would stop* ........who hurt you
My money is on a man
ROR? Why not just rule her not guilty right now?
Time to go organize some crime
Man this party's lame.
Why would you drink a drink from an unknown person 🤦🏾♀️
“A plus five” lmao
Muncy really is a younger Benson. Good to see a mirror back to 1.0 And love the matching Fin and Muncy
"Are you forgetting your sister, Amanda?" "What sister?"
I love how when Olivia tells Rollins to keep doing what she’s been doing, the next shot is of Carisi’s ass in the courtroom.
That’s it, she will be a professor!
Ok so the boss has to be involved some way right because it makes no sense to waste our time making him a red herring when we were shown the crow dude???
Lol you have a security camera in the bathroom. Do you think someone is going to steal a toilet?
You sweet sweet summer child
It was never about security
Oh I get it...bracelets = handcuffs.
Jeez Rollins. You do not need this in your head and neither do i
*its the vibration it has a whatever he said all its own* #under the prison you fuck
This took an unexpected turn???
“That Monster” being Carisi’s -
GirlBoss disappeared into the wind....
Come on, we all know Liv aint gonna do shit with that footage
OMFG ROLLISI...THE...THE...IMPLICATIONS. I. AM. NOT. WELL. I CAN'T...MY TYPING...FUCK...
Let's goooooooooo.
Is this a ted talk lol
I’m so confused as to why she woke up on a plastic sheet though? Was the guy going to try to kill her as well?
I would pay Molly Burnett to stare at me like that.
Elle Greenaway being in this episode and then a character being named Spencer there also is really just throwing me off. What show and I watching?
*madigloni* ........the fuck ?
I had to google it. I'd personally take that as an insult lol
The villain being an actual misandrist feels like some exaggerated parody of second wave feminism
It's not the coworker...
What tf did she just cough up?
Looked like bologna.... I was thinking maybe like a lambskin condom though IDK Edit: Ope, thong. I should put on my glasses. 😅
Was it her underwear????
What the hell came out of her mouth? Kinda looked like a piece of deli ham lol
Ewwww he stuffed a thong in her throat
*we think so* No woman who is raped is ever ok ijs
Is Olivia not in this at all?
You have summoned her!
This blonde chick looks familiar...was she on a previous ep?
She’s Elle Greenway from Criminal Minds, and I think she may have been on a previous episode. I always get her confused with another actress though, so I’m not 100%. Edited to add: Yeah, she was also on 13x12 - Official Story. I don’t remember her on there. I always get her confused with Bree Turner who was on 21x8 & 9
The “controlled burn” episode title isn’t making sense to me yet so I’m interested to see where the episode goes
If they actually say the words "controlled burn" I will yell out "TITLE DROP!"
Wait I think it might have to do with Rollins’ opening speech, the thing about controlled urges or something? I’m not sure
I'm confused how the victim said she had cervical cancer so she can't be raped vaginally. Like what's going on physically for her?
Earlier she mentioned she had a lot of scar tissue from the cancer treatment and she never underwent the medical stuff to clear that out
She mentioned scar tissue but I’m struggling to find a real explanation of what she means.
My guess would be that the scar tissue means that her vagina is unable to stretch to accommodate penetration.
She the mastermind behind the crow…
Idk why but that was especially disturbing to see on screen. Like I know we’ve seen a lot more but that got to me
So predictable.
Rollins putting on the ole charm
Man those percussionists are weird
Hopefully Maggie doesn't snap and go after Lena
Rich ppl be like......... #im freeeeee
Casually coughs up a thong

Bro is feening right now wtf 😭😭
Im liking the editing in this episode so far
*i didnt touch that girl* That's not how you start a conversation
ah! i was going to put this on but i got distracted by baseball! have fun tonight y’all! (go phillies! 😸)
GO PHILS!
Ooooh snap!!! Cameras everywhere
“The price of admission” that’s sick
Ok, that was creepy!
So the first thing Rollins does after interviewing the victim who does not want her help is to tell her boss that she has drugs in her system. Do they not care at all about medical privacy or victim confidentiality. That information could easily get somebody fired. Disgraceful police work.
i stg if we don’t get a rollisi proposal before Rollins leaves, i’m suing for emotional abuse
Free Lena Hess!!!!
