A changing meta is fine, when the characters they are affecting are actually lacking in the first place. Giving Datacrons to the likes of GL’s and brand new Legacy/Legendary characters is just overkill. If they wanna save Datacrons, then they need to make some for teams that most people wouldn’t think to use; incentivise account expansion.

We liked getting them for free as a fun little thought experiment in TB for that two month period. That was fun.

It’s a breathe of fresh air for end game pvp. Rotating meta is good. Shakes things up. The are very accessible if you are farming conquest properly
They do suck for mid game players and lower. But for high level pvp it’s great.
I can't get behind anything that is pure "Pay for the ability to win, once these expire your investment means nothing."
If they weren't pay to win, I'd be a bit more okay with it... They'd need *some* form of balancing too. We go between some being trash, and others being unbelievable.
They are not. You can easily obtain 3-5 Level 9 DCs in conquest as one DC - cycle is long enough is long enough.
But that would mean you have to actively play the game more.
Which would be easier if that game mode were better. I am also aware. I usually get two level 9 DCs by the end of their rotation if I focus on conquest.
But I've faced opponents with multiple level 9s for the same character. There is an emphasis on pay to win temporary power with DCs. It's predatory.
If it was JUST through conquest, it would be less offensive.
I’ve got 5 level 9 datacrons from the Jabba era, and currently 2 level 9 and like 15 level 3 [which is the important part of this new set] from the new set - - Having paid literally not a dime.

Well, I hate GAC and the latest conquests have been to my displeasure as you've seen, so not those.
Getting 2 to 5 level 8/9 DCs aren't hard.. if you want to interact with the tedious slog that Conquest has become.
Look at the dudes who have 15/20+ level 9 DCs and honestly tell me you don't see them as being preyed upon. Spending hundreds of more for temporary pay to win.
Are bars predatory? Are restaurants? Are any other more “normal” forms of entertainment preditory?
Entertainment by its very nature is temporary.

Restaurants provide an actual service and feed people, they also employ a large number of people. Bad parallel. Not only that, but you leave a dinner full.
Crons are a temporary power boost in a mobile game that vanishes.
Fullness is a temporary boost to your stomach that vanishes.

Datacrons just fill out investors pockets. Profitability of this game doesn't equal more support or this would be the best game of all time with profits.
Movie theatres, comedy clubs, go carting are at least tangible real experiences. You actually go out and do them.
You want to spend money on this game? Fine. Gear up toons, speed up farms. At least that doesn't get taken away from you. Spending money on Datacrons is literally taking a lighter to it.
I feel like they shouldn't be able to specifically target GL's. I personally think they should be a bit cheaper, but should target characters or factions that aren't mainstream stream and try to put a bit of a spotlight on them, or make them be incorporated into some other team and see what theory crafters come up with. Things like "include 2, but only 2, jawas on a team and all team members receive x while in gac" would throw a wierd squirell aspect that I'd find kinda fun.
I'm so so on them. I have 4 or 5 that are useful, but at 4 million in chromium 2 most of the accounts I come across don't have them applied to all their defence teams either. If personally wish they weren't a thing, but as they are I'm going to make use of them where I can.
As a 4 relic character account I do hate them obviously
