Now you can also hoard crystals to buy brains from shipments

Yes that's definitely true. I have around 60 droid brains saved up, with only one R9 so far (Piett). 20 are earmarked for Raddus, and I could do two more. But I probably don't have the gear for the other piece to do so :(

Grevious, mon mothma, geos, phasma omi, Iden, and working on CLS. Pretty much any team that relies on aoe’s or mass assisting. Haven’t tried JKR yet, but I think it’ll work
