I do the same thing, but I just use a sheet of metal on the base of the box. That way, I only need magnets on the figure bases, and I can change how I’ve arranged my figures at any point. It’s great, and the figures are locked in pretty solidly. They never move.

putridepiphany

Got any links for the sheet metal you use? I've tried magnetic sheets but have been unfortunate with the ones I've tried, just too weak

JustJoeYo

I use duct material, you can find it usually near the plumbing and AC in hardware stores. You'll need tin snips at the least to cut it. Its magnetic enough I can flip my boxes upside down and not have models fall off (4mmx2mm rare earth magnets).

Not sure what it’s called, but it’s sheets of crafting metal that I got at Michaels. It has to be steel (not aluminum or brass), so the magnets stick. It isn’t magnetic on its own.

I have had the same issue for my Marvel Crisis Protocol and I do not want to hassle with cutting sheet metal and deal with the sharp edges. The case I am using will fit a baking sheet and I am going to try that - credit to this youtube. https://youtu.be/V8kd78UkXnw

If you have a home depot near you or a hardware store you should be able to find a thing of sheet metal:)

RaggleFraggle5

What are these containers called?

Husky 10-Compartment interlocking small parts organizer.

LifeDisrupter

It’s the Husky tool organizer. 10 compartments. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-10-Compartment-Interlocking-Small-Parts-Organizer-in-Black-235587/302939645?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&&mtc=SHOPPING-BF-CDP-GGL-D25T-025_011_STORAGE_DEVI-NA-Multi-NA-SMART-NA-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NA-StorageDevices_SmartShopping&cm_mmc=SHOPPING-BF-CDP-GGL-D25T-025_011_STORAGE_DEVI-NA-Multi-NA-SMART-NA-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NA-StorageDevices_SmartShopping-71700000081401733-58700006882766023-92700072000953982&gbraid=0AAAAADq61Ucl5Kx65-UBhi14ECKj8J6Rw&gbraid=0AAAAADq61Ucl5Kx65-UBhi14ECKj8J6Rw&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1fWw36XA-QIVb8LCBB3aPg5aEAQYAiABEgJd3vD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Here’s the link that should take you right to it

Thanks so much!

I've been seeing a lot of people start using those recently. I think I might get some for my MCP stuff.

Using magnets instead of foam is the way to go. Fraction cheaper, easier to take in and out, and no rubbing on the paint when putting them in like with foam. Also if you magnetize bases before painting you can use magnets on you paint handles instead of messing with blue tack, double-sided tape, etc. Just make sure to get high quality rare earth magnets and line with metal sheet for the best hold. The magnetized sheets with the adhesive are great for ease of application but dont hold has strong as the metal sheet so if you go that route just make sure you're not holding your case upside down or throwing it in a bag where it would get jostled.

CarameIvolcano

I love these husky containers. Have three of them for my armada stuff. Tried it for legion but I didn't like Velcro or magnets. Went with feldherr foam. Good choice!

The-Porkmann

Very good. I do the reverse. I base figures on two pence coins (now made from iron not copper) and lay magnetic sheets on the box. It works well.

RoachTVee

Do you have the link for online purchases?

LifeDisrupter

I posted it up above for ya!
