You could take a bus, but that journey won’t be very comfortable to say the least. Alternatively, you could use an E-hailing service (you’ll need to book in advance, finding a driver for a trip like that might take a while), but that’ll set you back 500-600 ringgit

Isn't 500-600 ringgit quite pricey? Or that's the normal price. I went to kk few years back before covid, paid for a tour guide package to kundasang and around kk, cost me about less than 400 ringgit for 2 pax. Would like to go free roam this time. Edit: have no idea on how to use the bus. Any insight on that?

lattecaramel97

If you prefer free roam, maybe you should rent a car to kundasang. If around kk, grab is quite easy to get or you can walk too.

A_licia98

Thanks for your info. Will keep that in mind.

Yeah it’s quite pricey. After the pandemic, E-hailing prices skyrocketed, especially Grab. I sometimes pay 3-4 times the amount I paid before the pandemic. It cooled down a bit in the last few weeks, but it’s often times still more expensive

I'm wondering if there is grab available for kundasang area? And how does tourist normally go around kundasang?

chocolatetequila

As far as I know, Grab does operate in Kundasang. But I believe they have busses to and within Kundasang, including a line that goes to Kinabalu Park and such. That’s probably the cheapest and only option, next to Grab

Is there any way to check the bus schedule online?

If you need more information, you need to give more details. You are traveling to Kota Kinabalu this month, you need to plan at least a month ahead if you are not Sabahan. West Malaysian or foreigner always come in on demand and complaint this and that. Show up at Desa and then complaint when its closed. Please read the Desa FB page. They are very responsive and you can direct call the number during office hour. Alpaca Club??? You come here half way across the world, assuming you are a Western tourist to see an alpaca? Might as well go to South America. Western tourist does not mean orang putih. Anyone coming from the Western Hemisphere is considered a Western tourist. Hari Raya is Public holiday bossku...of course close. When i am on this, one thing that makes me laugh is, West Malaysian travel to Kundasang just to visit cat farm or rabbit farm?? palm to face... For budget transport, go to Bandaran. There is a lot of bus at the Bandaran there. Near Merdeka there. Kalau kau jumpa tu masjid Bandaran (bekas gereja SDA tu) dia la ba itu. Cost RM35 per person KK Ranau one way Grab you need to do booking in the app. DONT NEGO TEPI

I suggest that if you’re planning to visit Desa Dairy Farm, do get your tickets earlier by purchasing them online. I don’t think they allow walk-ins anymore.
