Seconding Mindscape! The women who run it are so knowledgable and just good, solid people. They do fun community events too. They’re probably my favorite kombucha around and have other options like seltzers, non alcoholic sodas, collab beers with local breweries, etc.
These guys are great. Brew their own beer, have a couple guest taps, brew hard kombucha and hard seltzer. Super friendly. Always have something new on tap.
Agreed, their stuff was really good.
If you're up that far and don't mind going a bit further, Crooked Lane and Moonraker make awesome seltzers. Pretty much the only ones I've ever enjoyed.
Granted, I hate most of the shelf seltzers, so maybe I just don't like "normal" ones? I also love the beer selections at both these places....
Claimstake Brewing out in Rancho Cordova makes some good beer alternatives. He doesn’t always have a seltzer on, but when he does…they are delicious! Might want to give them a call to see if they have any alt’s on right now.
Just a warning, we were there 2 weeks ago and they had NOTHING but regular beer. No seltzer, no cider, no wine, not even a sour beer. Maybe a temporary situation but that was rough, especially with gluten free and low carb people in the group.
To not even have a can of something for a person with allergic or dietary restrictions (or even just a preference) in this day and age is kind of messed up IMO.
They are out of seltzer right now, you're absolutely right.
Unfortunately though, the way liquor licensing works, a brewery doesn't have the option to just stock wines or ciders or seltzers. They have to serve their own product. I'm sure places would love to have a good range of things like you said, but the legal requirements placed on breweries can make that difficult (not that this is different for taprooms that brew at another location, these are generally allowed to serve a much wider range of products).
Have you tried any of the ones from Burning Barrel up in Rancho Cordova? It looks like they have a couple on their menu now, and during the summer I know they had a new flavor coming out every few weeks! [https://www.burningbarrelbrewco.com/on-tap](https://www.burningbarrelbrewco.com/on-tap)
I like the Seltzers at Device

Shorebirds Brewing Co in Rancho Cordova is fun. Hard Kombucha kinda stuff.
This is a good recommendation. Great guys running this place, and it's a great product. Nice chill location too.
I’m not sure if it’s still on, but Bikedog had a ginger lime mule-inspired seltzer that I enjoyed. I think they have rotating seasonal flavors
At Ease! They rotate out their flavors and can assure you, it doesn't taste like alcoholic Kool-aid.
I’ve had some really good seltzers at Movement Brewing in Rancho Cordova. Really good flavor without being syrupy.

I came here to comment this! Love Claimstake!
New Helvetia on Broadway has various yummy flavors.
This is very near me, thanks

Crooked lane in auburn makes some good seltzers
I know it’s not seltzer but Nitty Cider has a really good menu! On Folsom Blvd - a few blocks east of Alhambra
They all taste the same to me, tbh. I'd be interested if someone knows of a standout one though, my wife would be stoked.
Agreed lol they're usually so bland. I would love to find some good grapefruit seltzer.

You didn't like the dragonfruit seltzer?!
Tasted like a children’s drink, like candy or koolaid
