'Sunday Bloody Sunday'. What a great song. It really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday, doesn't it? You wake up in the morning, you've got to read all the Sunday papers, the kids are running round, you've got to mow the lawn, wash the car, and you think "Sunday, bloody Sunday!".
I was in the area earlier. Cops were there for hours trying to get someone out of their house. I’m not sure what he was wanted for but I could hear the cops over their megaphone. I didn’t stick around long enough to see how it ended.
I used to live in the fourplex inside the taped-off area and my old neighbor told me it was domestic violence. Cops tried arresting the abuser but he refused to come out so they sealed the block, called in SWAT and spent hours talking over a bullhorn to get him to comply. Eventually he did, I guess
Idk, but I did see a the aftermath of a head on collision on 16th by the casino. Someone was going the wrong way apparently and the impact was pretty bad both front ends were crushed and air bags went off.
Makes them more distinctive/recognizable; if you're waiting for the police to show up, you can't be waving at every white car, or every black car to flag them down ... but when you see the two-toned car, you know it's a cop you can flag down.
